It did not work help me out if possible. It shows that no usable free extent could be found. It may be that thre is insufficient free space to create partition at the specified size and offset. Asking to specify different size and offset values

Just saying, 2024 tried to download kali linux on a usb drive, got frustrated and unplugged the usb on accident, and this exact problem happened. I looked around for 2 and a half hours for the solution to this problem, and this man just gave the most simple and concise answer to my problem. THANKS.

Thank you!! At 2:40 my USB was back in action. My USB was working fine until I formatted it through command prompt with select disk and clean. The information you provided solved a potential disaster lol.
This works, thank you!!! just a quick note though when I closed out the command prompt part, it still showed the wrong capacity, so what I did was I ejected the flash drive and reinstalled it prompting me to format the drive which showed the correct size.
Hi, i do follow your step on cmd with create partition primary, and it pop out this error message "DiskPart has encountered an error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
See the System Event Log for more information." not sure you have any idea of this?

Thank you very much - had been in to DISKPART but only ran clean on the selected disk, not create partition primary..
i have sandisk cruzer and he have 2 partition and i cant delete cd drive anyway from cmd thay want econized diskpart when is plugin with program easeup with yumi .... please if you may help that be great thnx

Hi britec, my problem is a bit different. It has to do with my external hard drive. It comes up without the bar, freezes device management and also CMD. You have any hints?

Thanks, for sharing, Mate. With some doubt for my choice of drives (in this case), the Command fix was passed up this time; but, I know it is possible having walked that path before. With my two major brand 128GB USBs presenting figures of zero for storage and availability, your Disk Management method made this weary of three days of research old dude (who has been kicking MS since Windows 3.1) extremely stoked. As usual, you do great work, and we appreciate it. Now I get to do my stuff.
Just a note: I could not format with my preferred drive letter F designation. It was unavailable? No relationship to your letter F choice. This would simply work for me. Also, even a better choice (in my case) would have been the possibility of having no assignment of drive letter or drive path; however, I could not engage that option? Eureka! Completing that process did the trick. So, here I am still doing cartwheels because I don't have to chuck two new 128 GBs to the landfill. 🥳

I just tried this.and when I typed create partition primary it said no usable free extent could be found it may be that there is an insufficient free space to create a partition at the specific side size and offset
When i'm using a USB stick or USB external (HDD or SSD) always i use a safe extraction, because could be a file Transfer operation and if i extract the device (with brutal forcé) it wiil damage it.thanks

Can you help me? USB showing as RAW(Disk Management) and can't find the file specified message appears every time when I try anything. Create Partition Primary stuck. Virtual Disk Service Error. 2nd time it showed There is not usable space for this operation. Available only 1024 KB (32GB pendrive). Problem occurred when I tried to reformat with Rufus to change Windows ISO.
What do you do when diskpart list disk shows 0 bytes 0 free on the drive? I've had two raspberry Pi SD cards stop working with the exact same issue.

My drive's status is readonly and I cant create a new partition with DISKPART nor Disk management. how can I fix this. I've also tried to change the readonly status but nothing seem to be working.
I've found that the I/O error mentioned in my first post in this comment thread was caused by a faulty SD Card adapter. I have been using the Integral Dual-Slot Micro SD & SD USB2.0 Memory Card Reader Adapter (white one shaped like a USB stick) for six years. Instead, I placed the unreadable/unwriteable micro SD card in a different adapter (one with a USB cable attached) and Windows 10 recognised it instantly. I ran error checking on it and Windows found and corrected a few problems, but everything is working fine now. Four days I've spent on this, watching UA-cam videos and searching Google! So the old Integral adapter is going in the bin, along with a duplicate, which is even older.

It worked. Thank you very much, you saved me and my money. I made a mistake and deleted the USB Flash Drive partition. Now I don't have to buy a new USB Flash Drive anymore.

Glad it worked out.
It happened to me once where I purchased a new USB drive and it worked fine. After reformatting the drives a few times, it got corrupt and it was impossible to reformat the drive again. I had to bring it back to the shop and get a new USB drive in its place.

Hey, a video suggestion. Is there a way to increase or be able to move a file larger than 4GB to a USB Flash Drive? I am trying to copy paste a movie from desktop to USB and it won't let me. It says I don't have enough space when I have over 24GB free storage on that USB. Thanks.
Format usb with NTFS then you csn copy large files enjoy
Unfortunately, most TVs will ONLY play movies stored on a USB flash drive if the USB is formatted with FAT 32. The maximum file size in FAT 32 is 4 GB... What you can do is compress the file size to 4GB or less using Handbrake or VLC... I hope this helps!
