Did you try the muffler? There is a ring where it connects to the manifold. You have to use a Dremel and grind it off. And you can shave the throttle tube where it connects to the cable. Or you can cut the wire to the CDI so you can have better rpm’s. I probably am making it harder to figure out but google each step individually then decide which steps to try or not. I cut the wire from my CDI, cut the ring from the muffler, drilled holes in the air box is another step I heard of. Then you have your rollers to adjust and the spark plug and a new coil and spark plug wire all will help and a better belt, clutch and spring. If you need and questions just comment here. You just don’t want to cause damage by doing the stuff that might not work at all. I think a good CDI and not the cheapest one is a good idea plus a UNI filter is good. It’s all about what you think you need for you that counts
I am interested to know what wire to cut and if that takes away the rev limiter or what exactly it does. I am not sure about the carburetor modification either, as far as what you meant. I understand putting a chamfer on the exhaust pipe where it meets the block. Making things smooth to help the flow.
racing CDI's wont do much else than let you rev the engine too high.. its smarter to get a BBK, bigger carb, clutch, sliders, wider belt and a heavier cvt spring before touching the cdi at all
id recommend one of the red foam uni filters if youre trying to go the pod filter route. could never get mine dialed in with the wire mesh pod like you have. oiled up and stuck the uni on and smooth sailing.

I have the Tao tao racer 50cc with a big bore kit , stock cdi and coil 3 gram rollers the blue concho spring over range final drive gear and stock air filter my bike is running at 8500 rpm at 50 mph at times depending on air pressure I get 55-60 mph.
Use a racing ramp plate on your variator is Dr pulley Dr pulley racing weights Dr pulley variator weights are a little odd shaped so they have a low end a longer middle and a top end
Weights need to be in the 5g to 6g area. Id try 5.5g. 1500 contra is way too stiff for even a big bore, stock or 1000rpm works best. Make sure your belts wide to spec and that should be it for cvt. You should be hitting high 8000s to low 9000s if you wanna keep it streetable. Mine liked to rev to almost 12k but i wouldnt push past mid 9k. Stock and aftermarket cdi have the same timing advance at full rpm, aftermarket just keeps that advance down low whereas the stock box retards it to make cold starts easier
I got a 50cc that I just picked up and I got the cheap 50mm big bore from Amazon with the head cylinder cdi clutch and contra spring and all for 75 bucks. I haven’t put the big bore in yet. The scooters really slow accelerating. Once it finally gets revving good it hit 36-38. I checked the rollers in the variable and they 8.5 grams, same as what came in the big bore. So those won’t help. I put the yellow contra spring in along with the yellow clutch springs and that made a big difference. The clutch stalls to maybe 2500 rpm or so before it starts to engage and also it revs a little higher before the cvt “shifts” into the higher range. It used to shift at 9mph. Then bog bad cause it doesn’t have enough power to pull that taller gear ratio. Now it goes to about 15mph before it shifts and it can pull a lot better. So, I’m wonder if this was all cause the clutch springs or did the contra spring help? I know I should have tried one thing at a time but I was in the area and didn’t feel like taking it all back apart. I saw you reply to the above guy saying the stiffer contra spring is too much for these even with a big bore. Care to elaborate??? Like what exactly is the contra doing-I know it controls the rear pulley expansion/contraction, right? How exactly and is it worth it to get an aftermarket? I’m about to order a roller weight assortment car with various weights. Hopefully starting really light like 4grams or so and going up from there. If I’m not mistaken the lighter the rollers the later the variator will shift into the higher range. Is that correct???? Thanks
@@robertmason8341 the small clutch springs change only what rpm the clutch grabs. The contra affects how resistant the scoot is to shift, you wanna hold the "first" gear as long as possible but still be able to get full opening of the pulley. Then you tune your rollers around that. Usually a stiffer contra will need heavier rollers, small changes can do big things. Go in half gram increments. Wanna get the right rpms while still not losing top speed
What does the white malossi contra spring do with a kymco agility 50cc? I have a malossi variator with 6gr rollers, it revs alot but does not accelerate as it could do, the clutch springs are the standard ones
@@lukie4ever a stiffer contra spring makes the scooter resistant to "shifting". It makes it harder to open the rear pulley and thus the scooter stays in a lower gear longer. If your bike takes off hard then at around 20ish or 30ish drops rpms and falls out of the power then you need lighter weights or a stiffer contra. Another symptom could be dropping rpms and sort of losing power when you hit it full throttle but not if you ease into it. On my gy6 50cc builds i prefer to run a stock contra with 6.5g to 5g weights. I wouldnt use an aftermarket one unless youre on an 88cc kit with a big carb and a built cvt

Ignition cdi rev box
Lol I might be missing something here but why do you use a gps app to your speed while you have a functional speedometer ? The app shows 38 mph while you’re nearing 50😂
Those speedos read way off, mine reads 45 when I'm going 25.
Where do you live it looks familiar I'm in Michigan?
I'm in the middle of Minnesota!
Could I put 150cc Culborater on a 50cc
Yes but it would probably not run great
Link to the mikuni carb?
In the description!
@@throttle_therapy the one in the video was blue the one in the link was red. Wasn't sure if there was a difference.
@@brandonlovett604 no difference in carbs other than color. I tried linking the blue one but it was sold out, so I linked the red one. There are a probably a few sellers on Amazon so if you wanted a blue one it might be easy to find.
@@throttle_therapywhat size carb? Going to buy one and couldn't find it mentioned. Got a 72cc kit rn.
@bournes9845 this one is a 21mm
This scooters dilithium batteries can't handle the power of going through the brush.she won't take it anymore.
pulley weights
gy6 150cc intake fit on 50cc gy6
Anyone tried a Mikuni TM24 on a 150 GY6?
An oil cooler.
What kind of scooter you have
Taotao magic
What Year
I ask because I'm trying to figure out what mine is,it's the same as yours, mine is a 2012
38mph? Must be a 50cc scooter. My 150cc scooter does 65mph stock. Another thing i might add; those scooters coke stock with a 24mm carburetor..you putting a 21mm on starves the motor. You should’ve gotten a 28mm carburetor for it.
if it’s a 50cc it’s stock with a 19mm. Probably a 50cc scooter
My 150cc scooter stock does 55 at most.
80cc says description
My 50 cc has a 17 mm carb...
21 mm properly jetted and tuned is perfect for a 70 kit
