This was a great video! I could happily watch a part 3,4 & 5. And, loved seeing Bradley on. I watch every God loves Mormons at least once, usually more. My mil is Mormon & such a sweet lady, but so lost. I pray each day for her. My husband & I plan to have the missionaries over for dinner & we are going over each video & more to hopefully plant seeds, God willing! Thx for an awesome video!
Awesome Gina...just be nice, don't give them another reason to look down on Christians. Share the real Gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I'm sure they will enjoy a home cooked meal. Listen to what they have to say first, so they don't think you're debating every issue they bring. And try to keep in mind how many times they bring up Jesus. And at the end of the night let them know they hardly mentioned Him. It will give them something to think about later. Another good question at the end of the night would be...what would you say to someone who is in hospice dying? They don't have time to get baptized, or go to the temple etc... Have fun.
@@melinabrown8886 thank-you! Great advice! I have been watching a lot of Lynn Wilder as well as GLM & Jeff Durbin. Lynn says to be nice & ask lots of questions rather than debate. I have been praying daily about speaking to them. It’s time to do it.
As a Christian ex-Mormon I've found the Lighthouse Ministry ( Sandra Tanner) to be a great resource to me and other ex-Mormons. Sandra ( great great grandaughter of Brigham Young) and her husband (now deceased) were pioneers in documenting and publishing original Mormon doctrines and writings and how they differ from Biblical doctrine. I appreciate the suggestions on how to reach out to our Mormon brothers and sisters. We need to pray for them.
I've noticed a lot of my Mormon friends on social media are sharing information that's very new-agey. It seems like it's becoming more and more popular.
They used to say to trust everything they say. Now everybody makes excuses and comes up with reasons for what they mean or why they do and say things or contradict themselves. It’s a mess.
Love Life women’s conference come up as an advertisement when I clicked on the video lol. Go figure… which includes all the “feel good” speakers (cuz they’re not pastors) out there
Y'all mentioned inviting them to your house for dinner. There are also many other ways to build relationships... Invite them to play tennis, pickleball, basketball, golf, or even just a walk. Go to the zoo together. As long as whatever you do gives you a window to have at least a quick conversation.
35:45, I believe this breakaway is already happening, look into the "Remnant" movement and Denver Snuffer. Their numbers aren't as big as the corporate church, maybe in the 10K range, but most of them come out of the heart of the Mormon belt (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming).
A girl I knew from my old singles ward started a podcast called "boys can be gods". Nothing much has come from it. This episode reminded of that title she chose.
Interesting how they talk about mormonism breaking into subsections; the "restored church" being restored over and over again in these other new branches, but the same thing happens in protestantism. The protestant movement started by someone who thought the true church was "broken" or corrupted, who gave himself the power to reform the church founded by Jesus and started his own new interpretation as a mere mortal, AKA Matin Luther. Protestantism has no unity even within the same denomination. Every pastor gives himself the authority to interpret the bible as they understand it, but could potentially change the interpretation in the future. There is only one true church that has existed since the beginnings of Christianity, when Christians didn't even have the book (Bible), but only oral Traditions passed along by the apostles.
Going to the temple is “weird” and my first visit felt very “wrong.” But peer pressure played a part. Eventually, when I let truth in, I had to beg my children’s forgiveness for raising them in Satan’s kingdom. Begging with tears and truth. Living in utah and seeing that folks were “Mormons” because of their culture and “I have pioneer lineage” (pride) versus gospel, was the fruits of their gospel. Glory to God that im now a Christian. God is building my house on His rock in the Bible. So true that Mormons have cast doubt in the Bible because of their Articles of Faith. So that teaches people they can pick and choose what they “feel” is truth. Now that I’m out of this cult, I’m Feasting on the word at a Bible church.
We often don't want what God would have for us. Many are too emotionally manipulated by this cult to truly know what their spirit needs because their indoctrination and social pressure has dampened the desire for the truths of Jesus.
@@jennikooyman2079 So, like the communists of Cambodia and the Soviet Union who believed, "the people want communism, they just don't know it yet", to you, Mormons want Jesus, they just don't know it yet?
The Mormon church has to give into LGBT. The only way to defend it, they would have to say "the Bible says" but that would be the end of the LDS Church. The Seventh-day Church is in the same boat. These cults with modern prophets have to choose between the prophet (Church survives) or the Bible (Church folds).
Concerned Christians pray to a God without body, parts, and passions. In other words, Jesus appeared to his disciples in the upper room and told them, Handle me and see, that it is I myself, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as he see me have. Then concerned Christians believe he ascended to heaven with his body of flesh and bones to sit at the right hand of a being without body, parts, and passions that was actually another version of himself. So there is the difference between their cult and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe that God has a body of flesh and bones as tangible as man's. Doctrine and Covenants 130:22
Brigham Young drastically changed the Church. It is not really the same Church. Joseph Smith was anti polygamy and BY faked him practicing it altering documents to support it. BY wrote 132 not Joseph. Also BY may well have been involved in the assignation of Joseph. John Tylor and Wilford Woodruff most likely murdered him. Watch "Who killed Joseph Smith". The Aaronic Priesthood was drastically different. Only men were in it. Women as well were elevated to priesthood like level.
If you think Latter-day Saints will one day accept gay marriage and transgender identities, then you don't really understand core LDS doctrines and structures. Sure, many young Latter-day Saints in the U.S. think that will happen, but they understand their church about as well as they understand the laws and history of their own country (in other words, not very well, like most people their age). They've been indoctrinated by the broader culture's heavy-handed promotion of gender ideology, like most other young people. Accepting gay marriage and gender ideology would render the church utterly unrecognizable. It would be a different church. Not gonna happen.
I think they will embrace polygamy again before the lgbtq. Honestly it’s going to be also financially advantageous to be polygamous. Have working wives, and some home to take care of the kids. Especially with the cost of living increasing.
If todays Mormon Missionaries knocked on Brigham Young's door backed in the day and confessed the tenants of modern Mormonism, he'd have them arrested for heresy and taken out into the desert to spill their own blood for the forgiveness of their sins.
So, I have an observation here. Why is Jeff Durbin so obsessed with the LDS church. Why doesn't he just agree to disagree and move on. I mean, if there was a religion I didn't agree with I would simply move on and leave it alone. The fact he attacks my religion calling it a cult and attacks other beliefs of our history and doctrine shows that he is being hypocritical. He claims to be a pastor and a Christian man but goes around making videos to ridicule and attack the beliefs of other Christian followers. From what I remember reading in the New Testament , Jesus Christ never did such things. Aren't we commanded to follow Christ in every thought, word and deed? It doesn't appear that Mr. DURBIN practices what Christ taught. JESUS CHRIST never went around ridiculing and attacking other people's beliefs. Tell me one time you have seen a bishop, stake president or any high LDS member make youtube videos to attack another faith?....go ahead, im waiting. Yep, never!!! This video is filled with hypocritical indoctrination.
@Surely Serious Bushman is more positively appraising of her work than most. Other LDS scholars like Nibley were more critical: "Brodie's Joseph Smith is a more plausible character than the consummate fiend of the earlier school in that his type is much more likely to be met with on the street any Tuesday afternoon. But he is actually much less plausible as the man who accomplished what Joseph Smith did. Some kind of an inspired super-devil might have gotten away with some of the things he did, but no blundering, dreaming, undisciplined, shallow and opportunistic fakir could have left behind what Joseph Smith did, both in men's hearts and on paper." Yes, Brodie gets some raw reporting right. But there's a great deal of mind-reading and gap-filling in her work.
I think the idea of evolution over infinite time is just as valid as God out of nothing appearing. You guys spend a lot of time on the Church of Jesus Christ. But it's just as valid as your Cloud god, right? Except Jesus want's us to grow and Gloud God just wants us to what? Why did Cloud God put us here?

Can you guys start a discussion about the Baha'i faith? I've been seeing them a lot here lately.
How can I as a Christian respond to people who hold different beliefs about God and Jesus Christ and prepare myself to answer their questions?
I recommend watching Mike Winger on youtube. He helps answer a lot of questions from a biblical viewpoint.

You may not be aware but many of the upper leaders in the church are actually CEOs of and otherwise involved with multi-level marketing businesses.

Read, road less traveled by Scott Peck. He is a catholic that teaches we can become God's and obtain godhood.its clear as day in his book

Oy, Fawn Brodie's book has been dissected and discredited multiple times over the decades. It's not a great resource.
