The woman at the beginning of the episode is my mom! So unbelievably proud of her for leaving, she had to leave everything she knew behind in hopes of getting a better life for her children. She is one of the strongest people I know!

My mom a came out of this sect- I’m so thankful to not have been under their groups dynamics and thankful I do know the Lord Jesus apart from this organization. Vern Baldwin was my great grandfather. So sad he fell into adultery. I never knew a lot about what happened so thanks for this podcast.

    I’m sorry, but I don’t speak dork. 😂
It’s actually really interesting to see what looks like a significant connection with this cult, to the same cult origins for Word of Faith! I hope you dig more into that! Great video guys! 🙏🏽♥️

I think a woman’s perspective from the church would have been really insightful on this. I know that my moms experience, and other women that I know from the church would have less positive views of their time there. People were literally shunned from their entire families for leaving the church at a young age, teenagers girls getting married to men in their mid twenties because of the decreasing amount of eligible people to marry there. Women die in child birth…Babies and small children die, that’s not normal. My mom has an incredible amount of heart breaking stories from her time there.

I am fro I really feel for this brave lady who is speaking out, l'm from the UK, there are these dreadful places here as well, I went for a time to what I thought was a church,(but it clearly was a cult to2o) called peniell which is now called trinity church in Essex.. avoid at all costs. They tried to brainwash me and break me, and cut me off from my family and friends, although I constantly said I did not want to stay and hated it. I am a christian and came from a loving normal church... I escaped at 5 am-1 morning over these gates as it was a closed community.... Thankfully I got home but I was in total shock as I said God had brought me there and I was staying!!!
My advice is the warning signs of a cult our lack of individual mind, mindlessly following a strong leader, breaking you Dan so you feel alone, and cutting you off from your family so you are reliant on them. There was no love no geniuime Christianity, telling everyone the world is all going to hell just their church is ok, this is a place to get out of immediately!!!
God has healed me from this experience and I'm in my loving church . Panorama exposed Peniel t as a money-making place/cult ,aim to make money from all the members!!
God Bless this brave lady we are both free and don't lose hope in normal godly churches and people. Xx

@Jason Morris Well done! This is a great interview so far, and your explaining and responding to questions has been really thorough, I appreciate that in a Cultish interview!
You guys briefly mentioned the connection to the Pentecostal revival stuff. Which the Word of Faith false doctrine also shares. Can you connect these two any more? Or elaborate if you know any more of the connection? Word of Faith plagues my area in Montana.

The DMs are more for Followers that know how to get ahold of me. Most of them won’t post any public challenge to things they don’t like but I want them to have a chance to correct me if I say something that isn’t correct. I am not perfect and good get something wrong even though I tried to be very careful. If you really want to dm you can find cultish on Instagram I am in the comments there.

I live in Oregon City and this church is still here. I went to school with many kids who attended that church. We always felt so bad for them because we knew it was a cult. I know some people who are still heavily involved in the church.

My mom grew up in the Followers of Christ and I went to a church service once as a small child. The elders oiled there feet before the service which was interesting. It wasn’t the Oregon location though, it’s was the somewhere in rural Oklahoma… Ada or Major county maybe?
I would very much appreciate any information on the Oklahoma campus, and would be interested to know if it’s still active. I don’t think there’s much information out there at this point.
Long story short, my grandmother died in their home, without medical treatment when my mom was only 12 years old so it’s always been a curiosity of mine to learn more about the cult.
Oddly enough, I live within driving distance to the Oregon city location and thought about going to a service to do some ground research. Do you think they would let me attend since my family is connected to the church? Probably not the best idea but DANG, I’d love to know more. Thank you for this video, I had no idea that there was information online until I stumbled across this video.

Major, my family and i just left a couple days ago, it’s about as cult-ly as you’d expect. My Aunt is… well. “All in” to put it bluntly. My grandma is attempting to keep things at least somewhat together, and grandpa…. Well. I don’t really wanna talk about it, the foot oil thing I don’t remember, so I’d like to know how long ago you went, the Oregon location will almost certainly not let you in, there actually was a bit of a schism between the OK and OG locations we were told that they were drunken losers, and from what I understand they were told the same about us. The minister had some trouble with the landowners of the original building so it’s out of service now. He brought it upon him self though if you ask me, feel free to ask me some questions and I’ll try to answer them if i can.

Their view of doctors makes me wonder what was their view of Luke or do they even understand that Luke was a physician.

    • @jasonmorris99
      @jasonmorris99 2 роки тому +1

I have brought that up many times. They try and explain it away. They say he wasn’t actually a doctor. They would say he had the gift of healing and that was the reason he was known as a physician. Reason and truth don’t matter much to them. They have their own version of what is truth. Most are not well read. They prefer to believe what Walter supposedly said over the Word of God.

@@jasonmorris99 There are, to my knowledge, two major congregations left: one in Grants Pass, Oregon, and one in Idaho somewhere, which is the main one since the church moved from Oklahoma. And in my experience, they are very well read. My great grandmother was a member of this church and just died a couple weeks ago. She was a writer and poet. I actually spoke at her funeral to the entire congregation in GP. They know I am a student nurse and were still very respectful to me. Yes, some of it is pretty culty. Yes, my great grandmother died in immense pain while there were other medical options for her. But at the end of the day she did it her own way and was a good woman, like many of these people are.

@@emilygibbons9475 I use to be a member of the church in Oregon city. And Jason is right. The congregation at the Oregon city church is far from well read. That's why the church in Oregon city is way different then the other two. The one in grants pass and the one in Idaho actually run it as a church unlike Oregon city. And that's why the Oregon city church has nothing to do with the other two. The other two have a ministry a preacher Sunday school for the little ones. They actually teach and reads from the bible unlike Oregon city. So the other 2 are well read in the Bible. I remember one night going in the church and looking for a Bible and couldn't find 1. Not 1 Bible in the whole building. But they want to say they are a church. I could go one for hours about this. Lol

The beginning of this episode, the interview on the news station - her answers sound identical to what I’d say coming out of the Mennonites/Amish. Have y’all done anything with the Mennonites? I’d be really interested in y’all doing that. The Amish are such a dark cult 😞

I grew up Mennonite. Most of my dads family are still very strict Mennonite and all of my husbands family are still in Mennonite churches. Are there some churches that are spiritually healthy? I’d say so.. but the majority of what I’ve observed and experienced and continue to experience thru family members is very similiar to Jason’s story. I cried so much yesterday listening to part 2 of his story. I’ve felt all those things - heard so many of the same verses taken out of context and manipulated to fit their purpose.
When you come out from under their deceit and truly realize what the GRACE of God looks and feels like - it’s almost to good to be true. You see yourself in a completely different way and it brings me to my knees over and over again in thankfulness for His mercy. ❤️

Please remember that the bronze serpent was a symbol of Satan’s defeat, NOT his curative powers. And the symbol was ultimately fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Jesus.
"Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life" (See: Jn. 3:11-21).
Also note that King Hezekiah led people back to worshiping God instead of demonic images, which included the bronze serpent that was kept for several generations. Like today's health symbols, it had taken on the opposite meaning of what was originally intended. Remember, Moses lifted up what represented a dead serpent, NOT Alice Bailey's live serpent going up "the rod of initiation" (the Caduceus or the rod of Asclepius).
"He removed the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles. He broke into pieces the bronze snake Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.)" (2 Kings 18:4).

“And I am sure that He who began a good work in me will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6). When the image of the unbegotten is formed in me, then He who was so long tightly furled within me, unwinds Himself, and I am He. “No one has ascended into Heaven but He who descended from heaven, the Son of Man” (John 3:13). God Himself voluntarily descended into His grave Golgotha, my skull. “I lay down My life, that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord” (John 10:17-18). “For your maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His Name” (Isa. 54:5). And, “He cleaves to his wife and they become one flesh” (Gen. 2:24). For, “He who is united to the Lord becomes one Spirit with Him” (1 Cor. 6:17). “What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder” (Mark 10:9). Man is God’s emanation, yet his wife till the sleep of death is past. “Rouse thyself! Why sleepest thou Lord? Awake!” (Ps. 44:23). When He awakes, “I am He.” God laid Himself down within me to sleep, and as He slept He dreamed a dream; He dreamed that He is I and when He awakes I am He.
