Yes the C125 is a work of motorcycle art, and a lot of fun too. The original cub was revolutionary - just the clutch was an engineering gem in itself. It incorporated a centrifugal clutch that connected around 2500 rpm, a normal manual disengage connected to the gear shift pedal, a centrifugal oil filter, and a slipper clutch all in one small package.
Yes its evolved through time with better technologies but keeping it simple as was the early bikes , i had a few mates that used the Honda 50cc & 90cc models for work , they never let them down and they where used day in day out in all weathers summer and winter , great little bikes , obviously better with the 125cc engine , but would like to see the Honda Trail in the U K , must admit they do seem a bit costly considering other bikes which are a bit more powerful, but it does speak for itself and it depends what you want the bike for . Thanks Carl. The Super Cub is one of those bikes with. Wealth of history and is loved by many. It's a pity it doenst get more attention nowadays and hence why I wanted to make this video. In relation to pricing what would you pay for something that is a bit of a legend and displayed in a museum. It's onky true competitor is the Vespa in my opinion. A Bike that doesn't have the same level of history or social impact as the Super Cub. It is also more expensive.
Love my Cub. I see a lot of hate for the matte black, but it's exactly the color I wanted. I ran some red pin-striping from the front fender and all along the sweeping curves of the body to the rear fender, it really added something that it was missing. I bought a windshield, side bags, a rear carrier, now it looks like a mini touring bike. I'm going to do a front sprocket swap this summer, going from a 14t to a 15t sprocket. It means a bit slower takeoff, but it'll draw out the RPM's more and I'll be able to hit 55-60MPH without the engine hitting almost 7K RPM. It'll also improve my gas mileage by about 10%, which will be nice as I'm already averaging 126mpg.
I did exactly the same thing to mine!!!! It makes it look 100 times better. (Well, perhaps twice as good! Lol) The dealership said it should be standard when I took it in for its 1st service. I go absolutely everywhere on it. Work, holidays, pop to the shops for a bottle of summat nice😂, doctors appointments, etc. Amazing little machine. It was more fun than my Harley ever was.
I bought one of these a year ago after restoring a c90 and enjoying riding that so much over the covid debacle. I toured south Belgium for a week on and couldn’t be happier. There are pros and cons , firstly I was disappointed at the engine noise for a Honda (I’ve owned maybe 15 hondas) it’s not a nice wee sweet engine it’s quite rattily, the harder you rev it the worse it gets. It also has a knock/rattle on start up, lasts for a few minutes. It sounds like a pulley in the engine wobbling about, did this randomly from new now all the time (6500mls now) internet says it’s the clutch rubbers. people talk about 55-65 mph and I laugh, maybe down hill with the wind on your back slipstreaming a lorry, I’d say 40 is a nice cruising speed 45 is fine but starting to rev and 50 is reving quite hard, I’m mechanical sympathetic and would like to keep this for a few years .If you have a medium head wind expect max 40 same for gradual hill, hill and head wind u may need to down shift and you will be screaming at 40mph . Fuel economy for normal driving is about 80mls to reserve flashing bar then u will have 30mls at the very best (approximately 100mpg) I’ve tried the bigger front sprocket , would hardly pull top gear (I’m 57 kgs)I would have taken it off but couldn’t be bothered, after 5000mls the engine loosened up and it pulls the 15t sprocket fine now. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoy riding the cub , so much so I didn’t bother insuring my bmw r9t this year. I’d recommend any biker to get a small bike and you will appreciate your surroundings and freedom so much more.
I really love it, but it is not practical, lack of a storage could be solved by Honda to provide some original hard panniers to attach. Or maybe some big funny basket.there is no storage even for a first aid kit.
Storage is easily solved with a set of side bags with some mounting brackets, the rear cargo carrier and an extended cargo carrier off the rear. I've had my Cub opened up and the reason they don't have storage space is because there is literally nowhere for it.
I see in the UK and in Europe Honda has the flat black paint. In America we have a lovely light Pearl Grey and white. When will Honda offer other colours in Europe?
THE HONDA CUB is just plain brilliant engineering for a small cc commuter bike and its historic reliability and easy service is a lesson I wish honda would carry forward to a new 400cc Twin cub using the forward horizontal fwd cylinder for improved cooling the plastic body fairing for those cold wet rides in winter. I hope Honda gives us a new USA market cub with all the brilliant engineering of the small cc cub in a new larger faster one for USA long highspeed roads.
Couldn't agree more. I believe there is a trail version but it's not available in Ireland which is a pity. It is also one of a few bikes displayed in a museum during the Art of The motorcycle event at the Guggenheim museum.
Sure you can, you run your tender leads from the battery up to the seat. Make sure it's one of those quick disconnect types and you won't have an issue.

awesome. nice upgrade and it stretches the fuel consumption too. I do like some of the brighter colours. the red and white is nice. more classic.

Only big issue I have with it is an owner told me the battery case is tight and he can't get a tender in it.

Safety is key. Go for a bike that has quality and a good reputation. Good service network is key too
