Great video! I acquired a SuperCub back in June and have already put 1,300+ miles on it. I added some storage, bar-end mirrors, and an aftermarket tall Puig windshield. Once I learned 55mph was "good enough for me", I found myself having a unique joy only a bike like this could provide. 😊

Great bike! The 188 mpg is misleading as that number is based on a larger, UK Imperial gallon. US gallons are smaller. I consistently get ~128-132 MGP (US gallons), which gives me so much joy! I've added a kick stand, pillion seat/pegs and a top box to mine, and as such, there's nothing better to run local errands, commute 12 miles to work, or buzz around smaller country roads just for fun with.
I love mine. 300 miles in the first week! In UK the gear change is opposite. It's 1st down, 2nd down, 3rd down, 4th down. Then down again when you've stopped for neutral! Crazy but you soon get used to it. I'm 270lb and it shifts along nicely at 55-60 mph. And we don't have a kill switch. And ours comes with the rack and a pillion cushion and pegs.
I’ve watched all the super cub reviews on UA-cam as I’ve been interested in this bike for a long time and this is by far the most informative! Thanks pal
Brilliant top speed demonstration. Having the maximum effort towards top speed with a slight tail wind followed by a slight headwind with no rider assistance to the conditions is really helpful.
It is not clutch less. In fact, it has 4 clutches all of which work in different ways. It has the regular clutch which disengages the gears when the shift lever is pressed and re-engages when the shifter is released. It has a sprag clutch that keeps the gears engaged when going down hill or letting off the gas to allow engine braking. Third clutch is a centrifugal clutch that will keep the bike from moving forward when idling. It will engage the gears when revs go above 900rpm. Fourth clutch is a slipper clutch that allows the bike to be in any gear at an speed without freezing the rear tire. It also allows the bike to move forward in any gear from zero miles per hour.
He's talking about a clutch handle. I had a Cub 50 and a Passport. They were like the SuperCub with no clutch handle but still with foot operated gears--better than a CVT as well when climbing steep hills and the need to gear down. I also had a Yamaha Vino, and it barely climbed hills with its CVT.
Great review! Honda has done a terrific job with their mini moto lineup. I picked up a Trail 125 as soon as itcwas released in Canada. Would highly recommended it for an around town and light trail riding. Brings joy every time I see it
Great video! I like the cub but I’d rather have a trail 125. Nearly the same money but built slightly stronger, has a real key, a kickstart, and come standard with a nice rack.

Nice review thanks. 👍 I challenge anyone to get off one of these things without a smile on their face. You will get a few more mph from the bike as it loosens up, I regularly see 110kmh on mine. Here in Australia they come with the side stand as well as centre stand, and also the luggage rack. They don't have the kill switch and have the original euro spec lighting which IMO looks better. Best mileage I've seen is 1.4 l/100 km which is 200 mpg imperial and 168 mpg US.
You meet the nicest people on a Honda ! The double branch selector is made for Asia where people only wear flip-flops shoes .....but when you use it in occident it's very nice too ....
Well, I grew up on a C100 50ccm Super Cub. It was a foolproof, easy to fix. So I contacted my local Honda pusher outlet, who upped the price 25% and told me they had a 2022 for sale. And then I forgot them forever. AGM
We had a Honda passport 70 in 1984, not be confused with the passport car, it looks a lot like the cub but it has a 70 cc engine and 3spd transmission. My wife wanted to learn how to ride instead of riding on the back of my CB 650. I told her, always wear a helmet, always wear long pants, well she did neither so one day at the park she burned her leg and never rode it again. I wish I would have kept it . I looked for one when these Cubs came out, hell I can buy a new cub for the same price people want for the passport C 70.
Totally cool! The Cub looks like such a sweet little ride! =) That's saying something for some wheels that are far older than this Internet we're typing on! =)
Looks like blast! I’m not an open face helmet guy, but if I was riding this machine I would certainly throw one on with a fringed classic leather jacket 👴tough guys won’t make fun of you when you tell them the insane MPG too!

I loved my 125 at first. but that confounded electronic key that continually fails ruins it. I recommend the 125 trail which has an actual keyed ignition and a kick starter..
I love my SC, but the ergonomics aren't the best. These bikes are made for shorter people. (Asian market) I'm 5'10" and 195lbs....and the seat really hurts me after a while. (even as little as 30 minutes) I wear padded bicycle shorts and that only helps a little. The high foot pegs cause my legs to be at such an angle that my upper thighs don't take on any weight. It's all centered on my butt. But it's fun to ride, gets great gas mileage. Easy to control...it's not like it's a 900lb cruiser. I have a 2019 model that doesn't have an oil filter, so I change the oil every 1000 miles. (oil is cheap, and it takes 10 minutes) It gets up to 45mph pretty fast, but that 45 to 55 takes forever. I always try to ride no faster than 45mph....and ride on roads where I don't NEED to ride faster than 45mph.
Brilliant review, Sir! Adored it. I’ve had two Symbas which ride synonymously. They both reached (my weight and height only slightly more than yours) 69mph max speed (unladen weight, level ground, no crosswinds) with factory specs for the Symba 110cc showing a 56mph max. The Cub has a 65mph factory max, but you may be able to squeeze more out of them, even w/no modification. The Symba, no longer made after 2017 or so, was confused for a “knock off” of the Cub, yet wasn’t. It was slightly different in superficial design, but was operated by Honda in Taiwan : Honda sought a building in Taiwan to use to reproduce a version of the Cub that intentionally wasn’t quite recognisable as a Cub and by law had to change its name - this move was to sell more bikes abroad by avoiding tariffs that Taiwan did not force the manufacturer to pay. The SYM company had made a totally different product prior, but Honda chose its location as the best locale in which to open an offshore Cub plant - Symba, legally licensed by the Honda company. I’ll be buying a Cub ASAP, but am cautious of the new plug n play modern advancements which allow the government to control the navigation remotely, whether to shut the driver down or to run him into a flag pole. (Article links for remote signal navigation abound, culminating in fiery deaths. A big can of worms, that topic.)
