Those typically go the way mine did, it’s easier to get a conviction on a “psychopath”. Than someone that is mentally ill. The system is pretty rigged
Case file, meaning a history of behavior? An evaluation takes one's behavior and history into account, correct? Highly manipulative people typically don't answer truthfully or present themselves authentically during evaluations or sessions, so when a patient has a documented history, then yes, it will be considered.
An effective diagnostic tool would be to measure the remorse or real regret . In hindsight ,most ppl don't feel ok if something serious has happened because of their actions . The absence of such a conscience (regarding serious behaviors, especially) , is a real indicator of psychopathy . We can all pretend to be different things to different people , but we can't fool ourselves ,whereby only sincerity and real truth applies .Having said that , any lesser concienced person still has the option to make their own decisions and can deliberately decide to behave with decency ,simply because they want to do so.
I know guys like this. They tend to be obviously mentally defective in some sense. Dense, for instance. So isn't the behavior just the pain of being mentally defective and knowing it? Expressing itself through the real capabilities in other areas. The film The Banshees of Inisherin shows the passage from being a nice guy without full normal intelligence to resenting the condition and ultimately bastardizing the capabilities Collin Ferrel has. He's repeating the same psychological situation in the Penguin show. Which is a prolonged fantasy of a semi-moron using sheer lack of morality to his advantage. Some say this is characteristic of CEOs.
Thanks! interesting that interviewing techniques that work most often, sometimes don’t. very tricky. this can also be true of a “normal” person interview, of course. it’s just that people with difficult disorders can get dicey quickly. have a good day :) 🌷🌱
No. That’s a misconception. It’s just that middle and upper class psychopaths end up in these professions, along with drs/surgeons and judges. Working-class ones tend to end up in prison or on the streets. Just goes to show how economic status can change the outcome of your life

That is a gross underestimate of psychopathy in the u.s. Lying, betrayal, lack of empathy/shallow affects, "charm", and bloated egotism are far more common than 1% because these wonderful traits are shared socially AND do not fall below the average-that is why psychopathy goes "unnoticed " by the many. The difference in this discussion is that the characteristics of this profile come from those that have crossed the criminal threshold. It's not criminal to be psychopathic-but it is IMMORAL ! And as a demonstration of this, why do the majority tolerate their elected president (biden and Cabinet) moving ever closer to an all out nuclear confrontation with Russia by repeated provocations-each more threatening than the last????
It's not Psychopathy It's NPD. NPD has a pro social bend cause they care about supply more then actual stuff infront of them, so they are by proxy less ruthless but still can be and a lot of NPD peeps have antisocial behaviours, like cheating, abusive behaviours, manipulation even if it's not crime. It's also not immoral to be anything. It's immoral to do immoral things.
Fun fact psychopathy is not an actual diagnosis as it has no consensus as to what makes a person a psychopath. AsPD is a blanket term that is actually used and has a wide range of factors that make someone fall into the category. When people talk definitively about this as though they are hard scientific facts i have to roll my eyes.
Great discussion. There are more sociopaths than psychopaths. Sociopaths may be more dangerous because they can put on a more deceiving personality than psychopaths. I suggest u read the book.....the sociopath next door. The author, a psychiatrist, has many years experience working and studying sociopaths. Sociopaths can put on airs to be more charming than psychopaths......We see many sociopaths taking positions of power in business, politics, etc.
@@ShaunAndYoshi sociopaths can be charming. Many times they b come politicians, corporate leaders,salesmen......etc. Psychopaths usually do not have the social skills sociopaths. Is the context of this interview consensual? If not, could that lower the respect the interviewee has for the interviewer? How would an average person treat an interviewer if they don't have a lot of respect for them?
Would you care to talk to a psychopath? Though the UK diagnostic system is slightly different to yours. I promise to be honest and will try not to manipulate you. Yes. They have very high cognitive empathy so they can figure out what makes people tick even though they don't have affective empathy. If they are VERY good they can even perfectly mimic emotions for short periods.
So how can you tell you are interviewing a psychopath or a sociopath? Perhaps the sociopath let shine through a bit more sympathy whereas the psychopath has none but is able to fake being sympathetic?
I would say psychopathy is more a gain than a disadvantage. The problem with psychopaths is the only way you can alter their behavior is with jail or prison and even then the law is the only way you can protect the public from them.
@@godstomper Correct. People need to distinguish factor 1 psychopathy (behavior traits) from factor 2 psychopathy (lifestyle, criminal versatility, interpersonal exploitation, etc). The only one who can change people is Jesus Christ. David Wood has this. He is a different person from who he was before he was saved. All the glory goes to Christ. But the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change people to leave the darkness and walk in the light. You don't have to experience cozy emotions in order to love. Love is a deliberate choice for the highest good. It is a verb. The Holy Spirit in any person can produce good fruit.

Sounds like every politician
Thanks! interesting that interviewing techniques that work most often, sometimes don’t. very tricky.
this can also be true of a “normal” person interview, of course. it’s just that people with difficult disorders can get dicey quickly. have a good day :) 🌷🌱
How do you determine who is a psychopath while living in a psychopathic society??
Have to wonder if these people are over represented among leaders of business and industry. Especially the super-wealthy.
Yes, positions of power tend to attract psychopaths. But it’s generally those high in dark triad traits.
No. That’s a misconception. It’s just that middle and upper class psychopaths end up in these professions, along with drs/surgeons and judges. Working-class ones tend to end up in prison or on the streets. Just goes to show how economic status can change the outcome of your life
Well, the element of charisma does enhance the success rate.
I am not in the field, but I have an ongoing interest in how different humans think and feel.
Your question about what happens when a psychopath interviews a psychopath seems extremely important to me for some reason. I would love to know.
Oh my God the symptoms fit my son! My mother said there was something wrong with him but couldn't put her finger on it! I took him to many specialist but never a therapist! Never dawned on me because he was 5yrs old.
Yeah it’s genetic and the result of a not good enough mother. Your wife is likely mentally ill as well.
All kids are like that. Chill out!
Sounds like you need a therapist more than the 5 year old.
@@kevingrisler4123 @seanuk7757 Having fun? lol
Seriously relax!! There’s no way to diagnose any anti social disorders until they’re in their teens anyways!
If you’re having trouble with your kid though it’s still worthwhile to see a therapist
why does this sound exactly like a certain someone we all know? 🍊🤔 i used to think he was purely a narc, but this is WAY more accurate. 😮💨
Who?
What the layman often perceives as pyschopathy is a lack of censorship.
When you have young kids they tell the truth even if it hurts your feelings because you taught them that honesty is the best policy.
Higher than average psychopathic traits is 30% ! The 1% is the PCLR 30-40 on the check list.

flattery to appease a malignant narcissist is a frivolous tactic . A quote from Alice Morgan, a character from the show LUther who is equal parts mathematical genius, psychopath and malignant narcisst. I once read that all psychopaths are malignatn narcs but not vice versa.
A TV show writer is your source? That's ot a source.
People with narcissistic personality disorder need supply, which means sex, services, safety, and supply. Psychopaths are not interested in supply. They are not addicts for attention like people with narcissistic personality disorder
No, we have a president. He’s not only a narcissist, but also sociopath.
Do they say, “I” a lot?
Why isn't the system geared up to keep these dangerous individuals from hurting people and society?
We need you here in Windale, the medical field and system here isn't doing anything, but this person inext door is making life a misery for everybody here, especially me because he hates me. He has targeted me, and he's very dangerous and abusive. There are 13 apartments, and he lives here in one of them. I want out, and everybody here is on low income, and that is why we live here.
If he could just let me finish my internship, then I'll be able to support myself, and therefore get out of this awful place.
The trope that psychopaths who don't technically break the law may do well in business is a problem. An unethical leader who violates his employees to get his needs met is not good for business...
It can make the person extremely rich if they have zero empathy or remorse. They do great in insurance companies, etc.
@@frankG335 some are even Luigi proof too

One can lack empathy and remorse and strive for peace at the same time. Me thinks a lot of you watch too many movies and court cases therefore you only come across unethical psychopaths
Pretty sure CEO's tend to be histrionics aswell. I think your more likely to find board members and such as psychopaths. Let the peeps who require attention take the spotlight 😂
It’s a great question you thought of
Is Dr. Hare still living? I haven't heard anything from him for a long time.
Thank you for this sir much appreciated x
Whats the difference between a psychopath and an addict? (When are they the same snd different)
What if a psychopath covertly filming woman in a bathroom in a shower for 7 yrs, tells the officer to relay, 'tell her I am sorry'.?? Highly damaging for the victim, so highly improper of the officer to relay it?? I felt like the officer was groomed in that few hours after him being arrested.
And so many of you Americans are church going born again christians believing in Mister Jesus, heh heh heh heh.
It's not Psychopathy
It's NPD. NPD has a pro social bend cause they care about supply more then actual stuff infront of them, so they are by proxy less ruthless but still can be and a lot of NPD peeps have antisocial behaviours, like cheating, abusive behaviours, manipulation even if it's not crime.
Because they have a denial of shame, so they act as if they don't and feel it later 😂 they lie. Cheat. Betray. Display shallow and very uppy dog like happy emotions that feel fake, hence the charm.
It's also not immoral to be anything. It's immoral to do immoral things.
Is it a crime to be a CEO of health insurance???….YES!

Psychopaths interview each other with violence and guns, think of gangsters and mobsters. They don't care about the details, only results.

Are you a psychiatrist? They are the only ones who have the training to do this
Wrong, many of them are clueless on this subject. Shut up and learn something.
Why is the sociopath more deceptive than a psychopath
@@ShaunAndYoshi sociopaths can be charming. Many times they b come politicians, corporate leaders,salesmen......etc. Psychopaths usually do not have the social skills sociopaths. Would you care to talk to a psychopath? Though the UK diagnostic system is slightly different to yours. I promise to be honest and will try not to manipulate you. I was diagnosed as 33/40 with an IQ of 135 (as I understand it it is more common for psychopaths to have below average IQs. I feel lucky to be where I am on both metrics).
I found your description a tad hurtful, though I did not hold it against you. I love to talk to smart people; especially those who hold an interest for me.

Yes
Yes!
Yes. They have very high cognitive empathy so they can figure out what makes people tick even though they don't have affective empathy. If they are VERY good they can even perfectly mimic emotions for short periods.
Yes, called cold empathy

I would say psychopathy is more a gain than a disadvantage. The problem with psychopaths is the only way you can alter their behavior is with jail or prison and even then the law is the only way you can protect the public from them.
Its only an advantage in certain situations. Otherwise its a flatout disadvantage
@Jewifer333x2 alot of psychopaths work in law enforcement and the medical industry like doctors
@@godstomper Correct. People need to distinguish factor 1 psychopathy (behavior traits) from factor 2 psychopathy (lifestyle, criminal versatility, interpersonal exploitation, etc). Test pilots and surgeons with psychopathy traits often excel at their jobs because of their innate low neuroticism(factor 1 psychopathy). They work extremely well under high stress situations compared to the average person.
How is 93% of psychopaths being in some form of lock up a gain, actually seems like the impulse control issues are basically slow suicide if you also take health into account 😂
@@alphacentauri8083 Surgeon psychopaths are absolute terrible nightmares for the field. The lack of concern for the patient and awful abuse of underlings has helped wreck the medical field and is what started the extremely dangerous long hours of medical professionals.

The only one who can change people is Jesus Christ.
David Wood has this. He is a different person from who he was before he was saved. All the glory goes to Christ. It is a daily walk to live a good life though. He has to stay in the Bible and prayer or starts to slip back into harmful thinking.
But the Gospel of Jesus Christ can change people to leave the darkness and walk in the light. You don't have to experience cozy emotions in order to love. Love is a deliberate choice for the highest good. It is a verb. The Holy Spirit in any person can produce good fruit.
