Got so worried when I plugged mine in and the RGB didn't come on 😂😂 it came on Jesus you gotta snap it in I just assumed slide (literally so new to PCs)
It's holding the memory the wrong way, the correct way and holding it by the edges and pressing it in the corners, not pressing it in the center, because it can break, literally
I saw a video of a guy installing ram with one hand because he wanted to record it, and he broke bent the stick when forcing it, that crack it made was so sad 😂😂
Another thing to note is that a processor has a max speed for ram in certain channels, if you have 4 sticks of ram make sure you run them at your cpus MHz limit or your pc can die
I have been building PCs for a decade and I have no clue what you are talking about. Do you mean that if you configure the wrong XMP or DOCP profile or voltage that your system will BSOD? In that case, just restore your settings to default and try again with different timings/voltage. If your system won’t POST, then simply remove the CMOS battery and try again.
It also best to try to get it to snap in on both sides simultaneously, sometimes it won’t fully seat on the second side if you do one then the other. Usually it’s fine, though.
My motherboard has 2 slots. Only 1 is currently used. To add another ram on the empty slot do I just turn off the PC, and plug in the new ram (same type, speed and capacity) or do I disassemble the entire pc, plug out the motherboard and plug the ram in?
I’m new into all pc stuff even tho I’m young as hell technology is just not my shit lfmao so something happened with my pc and the people in the pc repairs couldn’t help so I just bought a new pc but I wanna some pieces from the other pc to it I just don’t know how to
Just gotta make sure the parts are compatible if you know what parts you have just go to pcpartpicker.com and put everything together and see if any issues arise, if not you’re all set.
The RAM sticks are notched at the bottom where the contacts are, so they can only go in one way. You won't be able to insert it if it's facing the wrong way, so don't try to force it in if it's not lining up correctly.
As long as they are the same brand and model your mother should have 4 slots to put them in. If you have 4 ram sticks that are the same then slot them in any order you want.
It’s best to stick with dual sticks unless you have a massive database. Some motherboards will default the channel to a single channel rather than a dual if it reads an odd number of sticks.
It takes 2 seconds, is actually easier BC u don't have to maneuver ur hand around the 1st stick that's already in there, it gives u a performance boost, and if they're next to eachother, instead of being ran in "dual channel" (2 sticks running in unison) it'll have 2 sticks running in "single channel" (each stick working separately), which is just straight up worse
Typically you want to stick with the same everything because such as gb amount and brand so it’s easier for the computer to read. It’s also a headache to find out what’s wrong when diagnosing an issue if you have mismatch ram.
Depends on compatibility. Theres DDR2 , DDR3, and DDR4. Different motherboards support different types. Check what type your motherboard is (most likely 3 or 4) and what type your ram is. They both need to be the same in order to be compatible.

You can do it opposite way that he did it. As long as you always have a gap between them it’s fine
Another thing to note is that a processor has a max speed for ram in certain channels, if you have 4 sticks of ram make sure you run them at your cpus MHz limit or your pc can die

It also best to try to get it to snap in on both sides simultaneously, sometimes it won’t fully seat on the second side if you do one then the other. Usually it’s fine, though.
You just open the clips there, and just place in first, then carefully force it down and it will snap into place
How do you know what side faces the right way or does it not matter?
Don’t forget the standoffs for mother boards! Most building videos don’t show them getting put on.
I just watch 2 five minute youtube videos that didnt tell me to put pressure to actually click into place

Yet its the only part I messed up LOL. My stupid ass didn't turn off the power, and ended up ruining my ram

Why don’t people have the ram sticks right next to each other? Why do we skip a slot?
I got 64 gb ram ddr4 and I was scared if the motherboard supported it or not but I double checked and it luckily supported 64 max
I got a injury on my finger when applying a little force because the clips was hard and moving slowly but I did it and now I have 40 gb
Can we have a video of your full pc build?
For the life of me my **** ram won't click at all and everytime I try to push it a little a feel like im gonna break the whole thing in half
If i have one 16 GB ram
Does adding a random additional 4-8 ram will add to 20-24 GB?
yes
Only use same size and type of Ram. So unless you are going up to 32 gigs don't add more.
you forgot to open the 2 lids
Why do people leave the spaces in between there ram sticks 🤔
I have to have the weakest arms or hands ever, bc I cannot get it to click at either side
can you add Ram to a1 and b1 aswell? so 4 sticks total?
Yes
bruh your ment to place them as close to the CPU as possible. slot 1 and slot 3 (if you have 2 ram sticks)
Does it matter where you put the ram?
My motherboard has 2 slots. Only 1 is currently used. To add another ram on the empty slot do I just turn off the PC, and plug in the new ram (same type, speed and capacity) or do I disassemble the entire pc, plug out the motherboard and plug the ram in?

It’s best to stick with dual sticks unless you have a massive database. Some motherboards will default the channel to a single channel rather than a dual if it reads an odd number of sticks.
What if i put it on 1-3?
So why is it recommended to have them separate. Does it really matter? Or is it just like snob stuff where it runs just a little worse
