As an old fan of Nancy Drew games, I can say that I'm very glad Her Interactive hasn't abandoned this series and is still trying to create something new and different. I really hope this game turns out to be successful, and we won't have to wait so long for new games. Like many others, I still can't get used to the new engine and 3D movements, but I hope this time it will be much better than in Midnight Salem. The only thing I can say is that even in case of failure (which I hope won't happen), I would like you to return to the old engine. I'm sure many fans would be overjoyed, and it would take much less time and effort for you. Plus, I really miss the moments when we finished the game and during the credits, we were already shown a teaser for the next game. In any case, I hope for a complete success, and thank you Her Interactive for such a sudden, pleasant surprise. Thanks to you, my childhood was not boring, and I learned to think better in many things.
It is quite literally impossible for them to return to the old engine, unfortunately. Everyone who knew how to use it has moved on to other things, and by all accounts it was barely useable by the time SEA came out because it was so buggy and difficult to use. And that was 9 years ago.
Old game engine is a technical debt. Maybe you meant going back to roots and pre-rendering every piece of graphics, in which case I agree it would be neat. There is even a faithful conversion of Mell's house from MID to renders made in Blender by a fan, and it looks gorgeous!
It could be a nice change like playing Secrets Can Kill when all the characters were just drawings and then actual 3D renderings with better movement. We'll see though.

The pre-rendered graphics of the pre-MID games are so comforting and nostalgic for me. While I'm not as pleased with the (what appears to be) real time rendering here (like with the puzzle transitions), this is at least looking better than Midnight in Salem, and I tentatively hope that will be the case once Seven Keys is released.
I'm gonna have to buy it on Steam as soon as it comes out, but it's not even available for Wishlist yet. But it may yet cure my depression to have a new Nancy Drew game to play. Might also have to play MID again, just to get back in the mood, and to remember the new Nancy's voice.
@@vintproxI didn't find a single un Nancy like game or puzzle until MiS. ND has a history of drink and food prep and serve games so nothing in SoD raised a flag for me. I miss them. We didn't get one in MoS. We got puzzles where you couldn't even move pieces or they acted like they were already placed.
@@norabarnes9235 MoS's "puzzles" are a grave stone of its own and it's obviously lost on every checkmark... But it doesn't mean that SoD sets up a good plank for puzzles. The pattern used in food minigame is easily discoverable and all further combinations are just the reskins of previously defined few sets. Which essentially means you're breaking a bank by getting infinite money from the pattern learned in very shoft time. I enjoyed solving triangle sudoku, though!
And more everything wrong with, Easter egg, deaths, etc. videos! Plus the exploring and playing the game on our own and what looks like the cozy vibes this game will bring! It’ll be so fun this year! 😊😄🎉

These were some of my first ever video games as a kid and it was a family tradition when each one came out for my parents and I to set up on the big TV in the living room and play together. I probably played my first (Danger on deception Island) when I was about 6 or 7 and now I'm 22. When this one comes out I think my parents and I will have to revive the family tradition. We had so much fun solving all of the games together up until around sea of darkness. A series that reaches across generations 🔎
I love that you and your family played together!!! :) As a kid I used to sit next to my mom at the computer and watch her play and try and help her with puzzles
My family was the same way!! I was homeschooled so my mom always played the Nancy drew games for lunch while we watched. We played every single one lol! It’s some of my best memories together because we have inside jokes to this day because of it.

I literally could not get the last game to run on a brand new laptop. I hope Her Interactive took feedback from players seriously. The game looks interesting and I'm willing to give them a second chance.
MID kept crashing on my laptop too. My friend managed to get it working on hers with the lowest visual setting possible. Still, it was a struggle to play. I hope they remaster it because it had potential.

As a marketer myself, the marketing team's social presence with all the fun clues and building hype around this game has been so awesome!! I love it. I'm a lil nervous that there's been such a long gap between the last game & the newest release, but I hope this fulfills expectations!!
The new voice actress for Nancy has really grown on me/improved. I loved Lani so much but the new voice honestly sounds much more believable as an 18-year-old/early 20s amateur sleuth and gives that classic Nancy impression.
I’ve played all the games and love all of them, especially older ones. I’m not as excited as I would be if they still had Lonnie Minnelli’s voice and the graphics weren’t this weird rendering thing. I actually prefer treasure in the royal tower type graphics and the music was insane. That being said, I still will buy it, but just wish they went back to their old ways and didn’t fire all of the good team.
It looks like a lot of work went into it but i can already tell i wont be able to play it on my 10 yr old laptop...part of the reason i loved the traditional formatting (besides nostalgia) is i could actually run it on my outdated laptop. Not all of us have fancy gamer consoles....hope this one doesnt have 4 hr long dialog cutscenes like MID....
I’m glad for everyone who is excited, but as someone who grew up with the older series these new games don’t have the same charm, and the new actress for Nancy just isn’t strong enough in my view, no offense to her. The new games seem more focused on modernizing the series rather than giving it a classic appeal :( 🕵🏼♀️
1000% Agree. I have been playing the games for 20 years and I don't feel any of the magic the first 20 or so games had :( I gave Midnight in Salem a try and was really disappointed. I don't think I'll give this one the chance to disappoint me too

I'm crying. So much nostalgia! Thank you for bringing us more games. I started playing the computer games in my teens after growing up reading the Nancy Drew books since childhood. I always got the newest game for my birthday, and I looked forward to it so much. Now, I'm in my thirties, and replaying the games or rereading the books soothes my soul with memories of better days.
The OG voice of Nancy (Lani Minella) doesn't do Nancy's voice anymore :( They do have a legit voice actress, HeR did an interview with her several months ago!
Old Nancy Drew games looked much better and probably were way more cheaper and easier to make. Please, fans will appreciate a lot if you will go back to the original style 🙏🏻
Glad to see Her Interactive continue the nancy drew series after 5 years since the last game was released. I'm a huge fan of the series, but can't get used to the transition to 3d format.... As if it used to be more cozy 2d mechanics has always been the main feature of the universe of nancy drew in my opinion. The imagination was very active, and what were the beautiful hand drawn elements! I appreciate your desire to keep up with the times, but in my heart I hope that someday you will start releasing games in 2d again, especially as I understand it is much faster to develop ♥️

Some comment or on here said the old way is impossible because the old engine was costly, everyone who knew how to work it is gone and it was buggy. I say it's 2024, if you can create a nightmare 3D gyroscope engine, you can create an engine that can create games the old way and fit it to modern needs. So I support this comment.
HYPED! Although MIS was far from the best ND game, it also was not my least favorite entry despite the changes. I had fun with it! This one looks even better and I’m happy the negative reaction to the updates in MIS did not stop them from making another game. The nostalgia of the older games will always be there to go back to 👍🏻
Outside the fact that the characters look like they came out of the first ND games and Siri Nancy Drew's voice, it looks good! I'm so excited to have another game and I'm praying it works out better than Midnight in Salem....at least let there be actual puzzles!
Been playing this series with my mom ever since she bought me my first game, Nancy Drew and the Secret of the Scarlet Hand. We've played and own all Nancy Drew games. Time to ask mom if she wants to go on another adventure with me 😊

Oh my goodness!!! I am literally jumping for joy. The graphics look so cool and the characters look more detailed and there are more of them! It is obvious so much work was put into this. Thank you so much!!! I can’t wait!!!

I’m so hopeful for this. Please don’t let the Nancy Drew games series die. Like so many others, these games hold such a special place in my heart and childhood memories. I personally do not care about the latest and greatest graphical and technical innovations, as long as that same soul and familiarity is there that we all love im good
Old gameplay is what we want. And better graphic is a chef kiss.
Some comment or on here said the old way is impossible because the old engine was costly, everyone who knew how to work it is gone and it was buggy. I say it's 2024, if you can create a nightmare 3D gyroscope engine, you can create an engine that can create games the old way and fit it to modern needs. So I support this comment.

HYPED! Although MIS was far from the best ND game, it also was not my least favorite entry despite the changes. I had fun with it! This one looks even better and I’m happy the negative reaction to the updates in MIS did not stop them from making another game. The nostalgia of the older games will always be there to go back to 👍🏻

Outside the fact that the characters look like they came out of the first ND games and Siri Nancy Drew's voice, it looks good! I'm so excited to have another game and I'm praying it works out better than Midnight in Salem....at least let there be actual puzzles!

Been playing this series with my mom ever since she bought me my first game, Nancy Drew and the Secret of the Scarlet Hand. We've played and own all Nancy Drew games. Time to ask mom if she wants to go on another adventure with me 😊
I hope it’s better then midnight in Salem. But I will always prefer the old games over the new ones. My personal favorite was last train to blue moon canyon and danger on deception island
