I do not understand why 32 people dislike this video. There is actually no any reasonable reason to rate as bad a so clear and quick tutorial, a wonderful work, made easy to replicate thank to Julia's explanations and tricks... Julia, your works are simply amazing, delicate and elegant.
with the confidence you have and teach with there is a 1000 percent guarantee no failing in life... love your work. this hard working skill is hard to find these days...
Julia, I always wanted to make this beautiful goodies. Life got in the way, but now because of you I am going to start my dream. I am a mother of 3 amazing little ones and dedicate my time to them. I need some time to myself too. I love watching all the amazing creations you make. I have decided now that I will start making cookies, cakes and all the sweets. because of you! Thank you and have a blessed week.
Love watching videos like this. Just like quilting, I don't have the patience for time consuming artistic endeavors, but it's fun to watch other people create masterpieces.
Julia, dear Julia! How wonderful your works are! What a good teacher you are! Thank you for sharing your ideas and inspiration with us. Your fantasy is endless! Your talent is incredible! I wish you good luck and success in everything! With love and admiration - Tatyana.
You have the most amazing channel. Your videos are so educational and therapeutic. If ever I feel tense or uneasy, I watch a few of your videos and I become very relaxed and calm. You're very inspiring and I will always be aspired to work like you. Thank you so much for your incredible tutorials.
Ow!! I just love the way you explain every detail, such as the mold sizes and where you buyed it! Super WOW techniques! BRAVO FOR YOU! - AND THANX A LOT FOR SHARING!
Just watched this video again for the second time! I love your work and the way you explain everything. I feel like I'm sitting right in front of you taking it all in! You're a great instructor and so very pleasant! Thank you so much for your tutorials, I love all that I have watched so far!!
Dear Julia.. I felt spell bounded..! So extraordinary detail work and the neatness is beyond expectations. Congratulations and May God Bless you in all you do. Another thing about you which I admire hugely is your personal answers to all your viewers.. God greatly rewards such humbleness. Thanks as always :)
Julia makes this look so easy, such talent it's beyond words, I've have tried this numerous times and I have yet to achieve anything on this level, lol.
I enjoy how real you are I feel like decorating is 10% direct skill & precision and the other 90% is fixing the unpredictable as icing and food is simply finicky
I made some royal icing cookie today for my friend and I think they are some of the nicest looking cookies I have ever made 🥺 they were just simple designs from video games she likes but this channel was the best in helping!! None is better!
These are so beautiful! Do you ever get discouraged with the amount of time it takes to do just one? It would take me for ever to finish one of these, and then I would die if someone ate it!
Julia you should be in the sugar art hall of fame!!! you really should! Those r absolutely beautiful they don't even look like cookies they look so real! I have such problems with ryal icing. I practice and practice but cant seem to get it right. And when I do have the right consistency finally I just don't have the control. I cover my cookies with fondant (im a beginner) royal icing and I don't like each other very much . Lol. you make it look easy
Hi. Your videos are wonderful. I am studying to be a pastry chef and we do icing and confectionery as part of the course. Just thought I would let you know that my icing teacher says sinking occurs when your icing is too loose. the perfect consistency should be at 6 seconds ( if you scrape a line through the bowl of icing it takes 6 seconds for it to close the line). You seem very experience and it is so wonderful that you share your skills this way just thought I shared back with you..hope you don't mind :)
I can't wait to see the next video I'm learning a lot watching you but you are the master! If I was ever lucky enough to get one of your cookies I would save that in my china cabinet forever with my good China!! Totally admire you and your beautiful work can't wait for your next video I check everyday♡
Julia, once again, you have outdone yourself. These are masterpieces. I just thought of something...have you ever considered taking this cookie, the Rose Lattice cookie and the May Day Baskets and making ornaments out of them for a pastel/Victorian inspired Christmas tree? I swear it would be totally out-of-this-world stunning!
wow! that's such an amazing work, so delicate and so time consuming as well... i wonder how much each of this cost, I am sure i would save for decoration, such a pity to eat this! so beautiful!
Hi Julia! I am another BIG fan. Your creations are unique and jaw dropping. Unlike anything I've seen out there. I really enjoy watching you. Your lessons are clear, detailed and to the point without being to wordy and your pace is great. I also like that as you are doing the work we can can see all the details clearly. LOVE your kitchen too, beautiful! I do have one question though. I don't own a dehydrator so is there something else you would advise to do to get the top layer of icing to set to avoid sinking?
Hi Julia, I made my first chocolate lace for a cake a week ago, but my results turned out pretty shabby.. The design I had originally piped looked pretty, but they eventually got flatter and flatter until it all morphed together and on the cake became very wide. Could you give me some extra tips on how to stay neat? Thank you!
***** Temper or no temper does not matter for lacing, yes? Is there a way to cut the cake without breaking the surrounding lace? Here are pictures of the cake and the lace. imgur.com/L73VNMO imgur.com/pDTlwvp
Hi Julia. Thank you for sharing this video. Would you mind sharing the consistencies of your icing for flooding, for making the lines and for the dots. Thank you again Julia
Very helpful, thank you so much for the videos, big fan now of you, thank you for teaching me how icing my cookies,,, can't wait to order your book. Regards from Italy
Literally BREATHTAKING!!!! Absolutely incredible! If I EVER get married I'm going to HAVE to have some of these bouquet eyelet lace cookies of yours!! Haha! No really though, your work is stunning!!! I love watching you work!
Haha my first name is Amanda and my middle is Megan. I usually go by Amanda! And I appreciate you sharing free content on your channel with all of us, considering you have full lessons available for purchase. It is very kind of you to share free content! You're a great person, I can tell! I love watching you create these masterpieces!
I love that UA-cam does the business aspect to their videos/channels and whatnot for the popular channels! But you deserve much more! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Julia, I have to tell you that I am absolutely obsessed with your videos! You are so very talented & are extremely good at instructing. Since you are so good at instruction, I was hoping you wouldn't mind if I ask you a few questions. Also, I apologize ahead of time if my questions seem remedial. I noticed you use a Dehydrator quite often when drying the cookies. I'm curious, is there's a significant change the texture &/or softness, not just of the icing but the cookie as well? I also have a question (or ten, lol but I promise to save some for another time) regarding a few of the diff. Icings used in cookie decorating(i.e. the diff. textures & flavors, etc.). As far as taste is concerned, I have never been a huge fan of royal icing. Imo, It is very dry & tastes like chalk. Personally, I prefer a cookie iced with a glaze or buttercream. The texture is much more creamy. On the other hand, when considering presentation, royal icing provides a much more aesthetically pleasing, & professional looking, finished product. Being frustrated that I would have to sacrifice one or the other led me to wonder what the outcome would be if someone were to use both icings on the same cookie. The glaze or buttercream would be the base, then once that was dry, use Royal icing to do the more intricate design work. have you ever seen it done that way, or have you ever tried it? if you have, would you mind filling me in on the outcome? Thanks again for sharing all you do, & for letting me picking your brain (hopefully, anyway :) ! Kristi
Thanks so much for the reply! Has anyone you know tried piping Royal icing on buttercream that has set? I'm sure it prob. wouldn't ship well but I wonder if you were delivering or having someone pick up if it would work? Anyway I guess the only way to know is to try right :). Thanks again
I LOVE you videos, Julia - although I can't make cookie (really, I can't - I'm a 'baking-dyslexic ;-) ) My question is: do you eat those wonderful cookies? In Germay we don't make those 'art-cookies', a lot of variation in the recipes, but not this kind of marvelous decoration
When decorating these cookies, is there any reason why you couldn't use a cake decorator stand instead of having to constantly touch and turn the cookie? Are these something you would eat afterwards like a child saw it and ate it. I didn't see what the cookie was made of and if it was actually edible. I have got to tell you that your designs and works are so inspiring to me, I had a problem with my IPad and lost all the past videos and I was broken hearted as I lost EVERYTHING including pictures of my husband the last 2 years of his life and the last day of his life. Obviously I am still devastated and it will be 4 years May 20, 2017. I am watching the videos right now and the brown dots make all the difference in the cookie. It highlights it perfectly. Hi julia. Could I freeze a cookie after it has been fully decorated with Royal icing and fondant flowers? Your cookies and piping are gorgerous. Love watching your tutorials here in the West of Ireland.x
Julia, I've always used meringue powder not egg whites, plus I always used glycerin. My question is: Can you use glycerin when using egg whites? And have you ever tried glycerin in your royal icing? Everyone that I have made cookies for loves how soft the bite is to my icing when I've used the glycerin. But I've always wanted to try using egg whites and not meringue powder to see how it works.
Won't the icing take longer to dry as glycerin is a hummectrant meaning it pulls moisture from the air. I thought the main reason for using powdered egg whites was because of Safety reason. It's pasteurized their fore bacteria of the harmful kind is killed where I'd you use fresh egg whites you risk people getting sick. Interesting though because I don't like cut out cookies that are hard and dry were not fond of brick hard icing either. Love both of you work.

Hi Julia! I just came across your channel and am having a great time watching your videos and exploring this art form I knew so little about. I would love to try my hand at baking and cookie decoration since there is so much potential for creativity there. I predict a great many mistakes when starting out though so could I ask you if you know approximately how long to wait for the icing to dry before scraping it off in the case of an error? Or is it a matter of poking it and testing out the tackiness of it before picking it off? I've never made or worked with royal icing but I'd imagine it'd be quite prone to smudging if one tries to scrape it off before it dries. Thank you - and gorgeous, gorgeous work! :o)
so if you have a large order for these types of cookies, do you do each step on all the cookies then move on to the next step.....or do you do each cookie at a time......... how do you make the most of your time and achieve the most product?

Muy bonito trabajo. Me encanto!!!
that looks amazing
Hi julia. Could I freeze a cookie after it has been fully decorated with Royal icing and fondant flowers? Your cookies and piping are gorgerous. Love watching your tutorials here in the West of Ireland.x
Gorgeous!
so beautiful, I want to try this when the holiday coming. thank you for sharing :)
This may be a silly question, but have you ever considered putting larger cookies onto a small lazy Susan to help while decorating?
i love your style....
On the bouquet lace cookies: Is there another option to dehydrate cookies other than a dehydrator machine? Oh, by the way love it!
Thanks, where do you get the liquid egg whites I would like to have that too. yes I do understand that acid dose alter color. *****
***** I found them thank you.
Stunning. Omg. How much is a cookie like this worth??
Thanks! I don't know; I haven't timed myself making it or priced it, as I do not sell my cookies.
amazing work!
Beautiful!
Hermosas las decoraciones grasias por sus videos
Your cookies are really beautiful! I have a question, the results are the same if you use meringue powder, or egg whites for the royal icing? I really would like to have your opinion. Thank you very much.
And in Guatemala, where I live, I cant get deshidrated egg white, only meringue powder
You are so talented you have a gift and I will live sweetly Noel's I've seen that 👍
+Julia M Usher Ah, I understand! Thank you for your help :o)
Me encanta este decorado muy fino y delicado.
Thank you!
So having made these with royal icing they would not be very good to eat? Could you use a thinned out crusty buttercream recipe for this?
I love your designs! How would you work out the price of them if you decided to (or already) sell them?
Parabéns!
Lindo trabalho 💗
Thank you!
Hi Julia, very beautiful and lovely cakes
Thanks, i mean the Eyelet Lace Doily Cookies..they look so beautiful!
doesn't the cookie go stale if you leave it out too long or put it in that dehyrator?
What a really great, recipe!
They are pretty gorgeous!!! You're amazing
