This wasn't improvised at all. He's been holding onto this for years and was just waiting for a soapbox to bring it out on.
Reggae Marley I always assumed that this was a real plot he imagined long before his character on the show. If not one he read online and essentially memorized bc of his genuine interest.
And now feige is developing a new star wars movie.... This rant is somehow predicting the future
Reggae Marley “... and then painting the garage! Oh my God! I’m seeing dead kings!“
Funk Yeah.
@police-and-military-are-welfare-whores You, are a terrible, terrible human being and you should feel terrible.
This is the ramblings of a man who knows exactly what he’s talking about
No he doesn't. The X-Men don't have a Quinjet, they have the Blackbird/X-Jet. Quinjets belong to the Avengers.
@@collegerebel yikes
@@collegerebel I’m concerned you know that
@@collegerebel Well Thanos went back in time to switch the names of the ships because he has the time stone 😂
He also mispronounced kashyyyk
They had all this on a silver platter and still they went with "somehow Palpatine returned"
To be fair, in the old post original trilogy novels, Palpatine did return, using the cloning the technology from the clone wars to attempt immortality. You see this being developed in the Filoni and Favreau work in scenes from the Bad Batch or Obi-Wan. I think it could make for a decent plot arc, if it was planned well from the beginning by people who seem to have actually watched Star Wars and care about it. I agree though, this silly rant was really way better than the last three "non-star wars" movies that actually got made.
I always thought it made no sense for Palpatine to die so easily. The idea that he lurked in the background with a very long term plan for the future is not far fetched at all. And I don't understand why people are so dismissive of his return as a clone seeing as Star Wars has invested in the whole clone idea since New Hope. It would be remarkable if Palpatine DIDN'T get cloned.
I was always of the opinion ever since Force Awakens that Snoak and Rey should've been "failed" clones of Palpatine and Anakin respectively. Have the nod to Legends where the goal was for Palpatine to possess a clone of himself/Anakin. Since Rey would be a clone of Anakin, she could be considered the chosen one be the one to bring balance to the force (again).
I agree.
But they used it all. It’s how the book of boba fett opens
I love the way Leslie starts annoyed about the filibuster and then gets invested in the story itself.
"Kids are not going to like this!"
"The female role is a little underwritten so far, sir!"
Lol, right? She's immediately pissed.
He started talking about tony stark and she instantly interrupted just to point out that was the first person she knew that he was talking about haha. Doesn’t know Luke skywalker but knows tiny stark 😅
Disney's greatest mistake was not using Oswalt's script
This segment shows that parks and rec knew star wars more then Disney lol
Lol, I'd prefer this movie.
The part with boba crawling out of the sarlac pit might be shown in the Mandalorian
I mean they kind of did, Chewie fake out death, bringing Spider-man in, Moon Knight is coming to Disney+.
Agreed
Marvel: "Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover event in history."
Patton Oswalt: "I DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE CHAIR!!"

@@sillymilly311 i think it was a bit of his comedy routine. i've seen him do it basically word for word in other places
It's been my understanding for years that this was Pattons own fan fiction
The single best ad-lib monologue ever performed. Watching all the extras filter out and he continues because cut hasn't been called and the show-runners wanted to see just how far Patton would go with it. Absolutely fantastic piece of film history.
I really wish they would have left like one person that was super into it and wanted to hear the end 😂 but wow 🤩 so glad they let him go until he basically had to stop himself. They knew this was going to be epic. I bet they knew it would go down in film history as you said!
@@rosemadder5547 that one guy in the background seems pretty invested :D
The amount of things he predicted accurately:
- Tony recruiting spider-man
- Disney getting back the X-men, Daredevil, and first family.
- Moon knight getting live-action treatment.
- Chewbacca getting killed and brought back suddenly.
- Han and Leia separated.
- X23 getting live-action treatment.
- colossus not getting utilized in previous X-men movies and then utilized in Deadpool 1 and 2.
- Boba Fett coming back.
Also, Tony Stark creates a "time ribbon" also known as a Möbius strip in Avengers: Infinity War. He even says JJ Abrams can rename it if he wants. AND HE DID! lol.
okay but can we not overlook the elephant in the room which was having the x-men show up in an avengers quinjet, rather than their blackbird x-jet - which, i'm sure i don't need to remind you, was built with the assistance of the shi'ar empire, an aggressive and expansive galactic empire, who would undoubtedly be monitoring the situation in the galaxy far far away
The boba fett one was known way before this
@@ManicEngine I literally stopped and thought, “but the Quinjet is from The Avengers, why do the X-Men have it?”.
@@BrianMcLamb you're right but it 'twas not JJ Abrams who made End Game and renamed the time ribbon that was Joe & Anthony Russo, just thought I'd mention it lol
Man if Ben Wyatt was in this scene it would be so funny if everyone left while he stayed listening super intently.
the thought of this makes me very happy
From the episode there’s a tiny clip of Jamm leaning in intently. Which is my favorite part haha. Of course they left out the part where everyone leaves. But even in this clip there’s a hint of Jamm’s interest as he sort of lingers by the exit and peaks around the corner.
You just got Jammed.
Cheers! Haha! That would have been brilliant. Elbows on his knees, just sucked in 😆
You know Ben would have been super aggravated. He would have found a dozen reasons the idea was terrible and would have had a hard time controlling his frustration.

Well I agree but here is a thought, what if Disney with all the assets they own choose to make a massive cash grab film, it merged star wars, marvel, Disney, Pixar, fox news, and ABC news all into one film. They could do this by having the fabric of all worlds be destroyed merging everything together, having everyone need to work together to restore the force and multiverse of their own universe. Just watch.. if the X Men are introduced in Multiverse of Madness people will come back to this video to look back how he explains they will reenter the MCU. I'm glad I'm not the only person who has had ideas of Marvel and Star Wars dipping their toes into each other's franchise. Now owned by Disney if they really wanted to it could happen. Most people would scoff at that idea but if you want the mind of millions to explode with action, exposition, lore, mystery, high stakes and straight up insane super powers then it'd be worth the reach.
I think any comic book fan knew moon knight long before the show.
But this is awesome. I never seen the full version, just the TV cut
Boba fett escaped the sarlaac in the comics, bobf was trash
It's a no brainer. They already set the stage with the multiverse. They do a "what if...?" of the Watcher explaining the Omniverse and how he only watches the "Marvels" multiverse but there are other multiverse and how we're about to see a story from a galaxy far, far, away.
Boom. It's cannon but doesn't mess with the main timeline. Fans get what they want.
Dragon Ball did something similar with Fusion/Heroes or whatever.
Gave the Fans what they wanted. What if fusions and different forms for other characters. Friezas brother Cooler gets a gold form, Goku trains with the grand priest, etc.
Doesn't have to be for all the fans. Not supposed to be. For the supernerds.
Leslie interrupting is friggin hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
This movie would be twelve hours long and cost a hundred billion dollars to make.
I would sit there for the 12 hours
And better than the 3 sequels combined
They could make a series out of it. Hell its definitely possible considering their doing that with the Snyder Cut
And no one would complain
Worth it
This is seriously one of the most impressive improvisational tangents I've ever seen. I can't believe Oswalt pulled that off, even as talented as he is, because that is some seriously superhuman stuff. The man is a massive Stephen King fan, part of me wishes he could have kept going two more minutes until he revealed that Thanos and the Empire were in league with Pennywise, Randall Flagg, and we were probably minutes away from getting Shredder and Krang in there, too. Hahaha the man's a gifted, gifted person. This has made me laugh for years, and I barely understood half his references at the time.
The thought of Randall Flagg and Pennywise teaming up is scary
@@jakeseaster5329 Considering how Flagg ended, I don't see him becoming BFFs with a giant spider.
Troy Blackford Its Patton Oswalt though. This is his life. He’s been a Star Wars fan longer than he’s been an actor.
hes been holding this in for a while he's just unloading EVERYTHING 😂😂
Patton put more thought in to this script than Disney put in the entire sequel trilogy
Chills and tears. I love you Patton.
He finally got his dream of Boba Fett surviving the sarlac pit.
And he predicted the double sunset lol
Bobba fett survived the sarlac pit in the original expanded universe too...
The Mandalorian is goated...
Boba survived in the original, too. Tales of the Bounty Hunters has it.
@@KevinMacku thank you i couldn’t remember the specific name.
The extras behind him deserve an Oscar for not breaking this entire time
One of them is giggling like crazy
One of the guys in the left seems interested and engaged
The greatest movie pitched in cinema history. Absolute comedy gold
I love the extras in this clip. So well paid to stay so quiet when this is perhaps the funniest and best monologue ever
There's one guy who's actually really engaged in the script? It's so funny watching his face in the background 😂
I just love how the majority of the extras kept a straight face.
About half of them go at least once at some point throughout. xD
I liked how at the beginning of the rant they all look bored but a few minutes in they're all riveted and can't take their eyes off the small rotund rambling man.
The lady in the front row with the brown suit is amazing, how she manages to "fall asleep" at the end is beyond me
It's Pawnee. Anywhere else this would be insane.
Idk if these extras would even know what he's talking about 9 years ago.
I don't remember if the whole multiverse gimmick was introduced in marvel movies back then.
I just noticed, @ 7:20, Councilman Jamm stops dead in his tracks when he hears about Lando and Leia. You can see him listening around the corner while everyone else leaves.
Leslie escorting ppl out the room 🤣🤣🤣
One of my favorite comedians in my favorite TV show.
I love how both Patton Oswalt and Amy Poehler have both been the Leads in a Pixar movie.
