@DANIEL HOLDEN Yeah, but Patton was kind of making fun of himself too because that was all unscripted. He was given a little direction by the director and then supposedly came in the next day with his own monologue. Everything he said he came up with himself.
This should honestly be a spin off: People of Pawnee. I'd watch seven seasons of it.

The sad thing is that there really are crazy people out there complaining about or asking for crazy things. I used to work in public service and some of the things I've heard and seen make me question my faith in humanity.

Idk, seems that citizens meetings are usually attended by the elderly, handicapped, etc. Basically groups of people that are exempt work and often lonely. Being parallel to the normal daily life tends to make people live in parallel worlds

It seemed like Ron genuinely got concerned which really cracks me up like they know something no one else does lmao
One of the things that shows how well-written this show is is how Leslie empathizes with the townspeople. Being a steamroller and inclined to believe her perception of reality, she perceives positivity in all their nonsense, which fuels her irrational hopes. This drives her to pursue projects and give her best to the people, ultimately making her an incredible leader, whereas most people would just get fed up and resign. Been in leadership myself, and you need Leslie's heart to lead in today's world.
So much effort and attention to details, just to make this wack fictional place. I love it so much.

Until recently I worked for a local town council here in the UK and if anything they've underplayed the amount of nutters, idiots, arseholes and general Iwouldn'tdoitlikethat know- it -alls by some considerable margin.

I was born and raised in Indiana. I can confirm this depiction is 100% accurate.
I’ve seen town halls of large California cities. Pawnee citizens have far smarter comments.
I've lived in both Indiana and Pennsylvania and I can confirm town halls in both are indistinguishable from Pawnee
All the star wars suggestions are actually better than what we got in the movies.

As someone who works in government with a job that heavily involves public interaction, I can say that parks and rec got it spot on
