The sun is hot
And that old clock is movin' slow
And so am I
Workday passes like molasses in the wintertime, yeah, but it's July
Gettin' paid by the hour, and older by the minute
Boss just put me over a limit
I'd love to call him somethin'
But I think I'll just call it a day
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past 12, but I don't care
It's five o'clock somewhere
It's five o'clock in the urban stands, right?
Well, this lunch break
It's gonna take all afternoon and half the night
Tomorrow I know that there will be hell to pay
Hey, but that's all right
I ain't had a day off now in over a year
My Jamaican vacation's gonna start right here
If the phone's for me
You can tell 'em I just sailed away
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past 12, but I don't care
Hello cowgirl
It's five o'clock somewhere
I could pay off my tab
Pour myself in a cab
And be back to work before two
At a moment like this, you can't help but wonder
What would Jimmy Buffett do?
I'd go to Wrigley and buy you all a drink
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past 12, but I don't care
Mitchell the cubby bear
Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane (here we go to sweater)
It's only half past 12, but I don't care
The wonder bar
Oh, I don't care
It's five o'clock somewhere
I guess we get it all spars picked out
Thank you, Alan Jackson
This is, this is too much
That's all I got to say
For all of you ladies and gentlemen
Who wore your grass skirt to this event this evening
This song is for you
We're going to the south pacific for a few minutes

Featuring my white nose before I realised I need to put extra bronzer there...
I think you've since solved that lighting issue, n'est-ce pas?
I probably wouldn’t have noticed, but now that you did, I keep not noticing it😆 self criticism eh?
I think I have but some of the vids are yet to come out!
The white nose would look good outdoors in the sunlight since It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere Music Video
Bronzer or not, you still look lovely Diane! 👋😎❤️👍😁👋🎉🎊
Jackson's "Remember When" is a remarkable song of love and remembrance, as well as a terrific video including his wife. And "Drive", another heartfelt song with memories of family.
Also "I Still Love Bologna" about accepting tech changes, the music video stars the cutest kids.
" Drive " is so good about families.
That song never fails to get to me.
Alan Jackson - Remember When
You gotta do it now. The most beautiful song about LIFE you will ever hear,
(Guaranteed to mess you up, but in a good way 😭)
Alan Jackson is one of country music's best artists. He and Jimmy Buffett where buddies.
My dad and mom are real Parrotheads. Got me and my siblings hooked on Jimmy Buffet. I think my Dad loves his music the most, so I drew a sort of tribute to the late musician for his birthday. Happy to say, he absolutely loved it. RIP Jimmy, hope your showing them a fun time up there.
Margaritaville is anywhere you want to be with good friends, good music, & good times!
Speaking of him,, A MUST HEAR Classic,, Jimmy Buffett "Come Monday"..In my humble opinion his best song & my favorite. ❤
Also Cheeseburger In Paradise
Buffett's catalog runs deep, and most people have only dipped a toe.
@ronaldjeffrey8712 That's true,, I just don't happen to be one of those people..Jimmy & I have chatted on several occasions & have quite a bit in common..He likes to tease me about being an endangered species = A Native Floridian 🤪
And A Pirate Looks at Forty.
Absolutely!
Glen Campbell was a country singer/songwriter. He was also a genius guitar player in both country and jazz guitar styles. He was a session player before fame, a member of the famous and insanely talented Wrecking Crew.
He also was a member of the Beach Boys. When Brian Wilson had a breakdown, they hired Glen to fill out the line-up.
Towards the end of his life, he suffered from severe memory loss, but he remembered his songs even after he lost a lot of other stuff. He was still able to perform when he could hardly do anything else.
Glen Campbell & Roy Clarke are two of the greatest guitarists of the 20th century.
Wichita Lineman is an incredible song, among the many other wonderful songs Glen Campbell sung.
Glen was certainly one of the best session musicians and also in his own right. So sad the world has lost him.
Glen could not read music, he played by ear.
At 3:54 everyone goes wild soon as the see Jimmy Buffet being in the It's 5 O' Clock Somewhere cover song Alan Jackson is singing. That was a really good idea Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet thought up. I enjoyed seeing the Happy Smile on Your Face.
The year this came out, Alan Jackson won just about every award at the CMA Awards. Jimmy went up to present one to him for this song, and said Wow- I'm glad I could help your struggling career! lol AJ is a legend. SO many great songs, some lighthearted and fun, others more serious and/or nostalgic.
Alan also sang at Country Legend George Jones' funeral. He covered George's song "He Stopped Loving Her Today". I've seen him 4 times live, and countless times on video, and that's the only time I've heard his voice crack... Worth looking up- he did a great job of it.
Alan's song (and video) "Remember When" tells the story of his marriage/family.
Jimmy Buffett's song "Trip Around the Sun", sort of like a Birthday song, and one of the Seaplanes Jimmy owned is at the Margaritaville in Orlando
I met Alan Jackson once. In 98 I was bussing tables at Boswell's Harley Davidson in Nashville, they had a small restaurant inside. Pretty nice guy.
His song Remember When that he wrote for his wife is beautiful. Great reaction!! 🙂
@Hit_me_up_diana_jenningsYT His song Remember When is a beautiful song and it has a great video to go with it. Another really good one of his is Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning. A song he wrote after 9/11. He has a lot of really great songs though. You really can't go wrong with him no matter which song you choose. Good luck!! 🙂
Gotta check out Alan's "Remember When" video.
Jimmy Buffet was last concert my wife and I saw before she passed, we loved singing Come Monday. And all the other songs, opening band Huey Lewis.
I live off of the first exit on the "Alan Jackson Highway" (I-85 heading south out of Atlanta toward Newnan, GA where he is from). If you want a fun up-tempo song from Alan, try "Chattahoochee" (Chattahoochee is the river that flows from north Georgia to the gulf of Mexico and forms much of the border between Georgia and Alabama). I have always enjoyed his music and love that he spells his name "right". P.S.--you can't go wrong with anything from Jimmy either.
Rip Jimmy. You are missed. Bubbles up
I have heard the original Jimmy Buffet it's 5 O'Clock Somewhere. I did not know Alan Jackson did a country music version. Enjoyed sharing listening to the song with You on the Music Journey and seeing Your reactions to the song. You Always make the songs a Billion time s more enjoyable.
THIS is the original version. Jimmy just did it in concert.
I've heard this song a thousand times, but never saw the video. It is indeed a fun song. Teared up a bit seeing Jimmy B again. 🥲
🤩🤩🤩
Since you mentioned it, you must react to "Remember When" by Alan Jackson. It is as beautiful as it is touching!
Since you're not familiar with Glen Campbell, you should check him out. Although he had many hits over the years, I would recommend one of his earliest called "Wichita Lineman." It's an iconic, beautiful song from the '60s that I think you'd enjoy. Just a really nice piece of story telling in song.
Beautiful song Alan Jackson love it RIP Jimmy Buffett 🥰💕
Hi Diane! Great reaction to this iconic song! One of my all time favorites! I’m a huge Jimmy Buffet (if you couldn’t tell by my call tag), AND I’m a huge Alan Jackson fan. When I first heard of this collaboration, I was beyond pumped! Jimmy and Alan also did a live concert together with George Strait in Texas. It was amazing!
Please consider reacting to another Alan Jackson’s hits, “Remember When”. I have so many favorites by Jimmy Buffet, but another one of his biggest hits is “Come Monday”. Jimmy’s known for his tropical island escapism, but this song was written for his future wife, Jane, and it shows his softer and more sentimental side. Thanks again for a great reaction!
Alan & Jimmy... two of the all time greats!
The daytime bar scene was filmed at a bar called the "Square Gropper". it's just a few miles south of where I live. Jupiter, Florida.
Alan Jackson has many hit songs.
I remember hearing this song play frequently on country radio. However, the phrase It's 5 O'clock somewhere is still commonly heard.
A fun country song is They Won't Get Me by Roger Miller, who has had a truly comprehensive list of songs.
Not a country guy but I do love me some Allan Jackson every once in a while I love drinking some hurricanes as well
Keep it going with Buffet kick!
Diane, Jimmy Buffet please! Margaritaville and Cheesburger in Paradise! Would be fun to see your reactions!!
Great job with your reaction to it's Five O'clock Somewhere from Mr Alien Jackson and (RIP) Mr Jimmy Buffett. There a cool Margaritaville in Las Vegas off of the flamingo Resert and casino that series one of the best Top shelf Margarita you can buy.
A hurricane cocktail is usually made with two types of rum (white and dark), passion fruit juice, orange juice, grenadine and simple syrup for sweetness, and juice from half a lime. Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
The Hurricane was born in the French Quarter, in New Orleans at Pat O'Brian's, POB's!
Alan Jackson is a country singer, very popular!❤❤❤
Got to do 'Remember When' by Alan Jackson.
I was at that concert where they filmed the video. That was a great time.
There is a bar in Ft Worth, Texas, Billy Bob's, that casts the hands of their performers (along with their signatures). I an six two and Alan Jackson's fingers were all at least an inch longer than mine. He is one tall dude! (JB was about 5'9") P.S. - A "Hurricane" is a name for a (very strong) drink.
A double Hurricane is starting to become a drink lol..
I worked at Billy Bob's for 22 years.Saw a lot of those being made. Johnny Cash,Jerry Lee Lewis,Willie,Waylon,Jerry Jeff, but my fave- Ray Benson from Asleep at the Wheel, a large man himself.6'7" around 270. Best part- they took his boot prints instead of his hands. He wore size 22. The best one up there.
I recommend you listen to Jimmy Buffet's "The Weather is here, Wish you were Beautiful". I hope you can stay safe when you go to Chicago.
You absolutely have to do "Remember Then" by Alan Jackson. One of the greatest love songs ever. And by the way, have the tissue handy.
I'm seeing a lot of "Remember When" requests, but I would also recommend "Here in the Real World", "Drive", "I still like Bologna", and "Good Time". All GREAT songs by AJ.
Try listening to Alan Jackson's songs. Summertime Blues, Mercury Blues, Living On Love, Gone Country, Little Bitty, The Older I Get, Santa's Gonna Come in a Pickup Truck, Don't Rock The Jukebox, Remember When, Chattahoochee
Start with Chattahoochee and then move to Little Bitty then hit replay, over & over sipping Southern Comfort & iced tea watching a fishing pole with no hook on it.
Jimmy Buffett has an incredible catalog. For more fun similar to "Margaritaville" check out, "Fins", "Changes in Latitudes", or "Cheeseburger in Paradise". For more poetic and just lovely music check out "Come Monday", "He Went to Paris", or "It's My Job". Cheers! it's almost 5:00 here!
One of the most fun music videos ever!
❤Try "chasin that neon rainbow" by Alan Jackson. My favorite AJ song!
I Agree with You Never Cheat on Your Spouse the One that's True is Always There for You.
Great video, as usual. I really think it's time, though, for your baby to check out the Ohio Express "Chewy, Chewy"
That Brings Me Joy Alan Jackson has stayed Married to His Wife over 40 years and They have Kids together.
You do not know that he cheated on her with his fiddle player? Well if not she forgave him.
One of the great vacation songs.
Remember When and Livin on Love are two of Jackson;s best. He did a tribute to 9/11 called Where Were Your When the World Stopped Turning also a must hear.
One of my favorite collabs ever. I ❤️ them both
John Anderson-Seminole Wind, will change your mind.
Song to check out:
The iconic song that makes me smile is Garth Brook's song "Friends in Low Places". Excellent song!
The Beach Bar is the "Square Grouper" in Jupiter Florida, it's a good time! Been there...
I learned some new stuff about Alan Jackson Today with You on the Learning Journey. You Always teach Me something new Enjoyed Learning with You.
Diane If you want a good song to lift your spirit definitely this one.
Good reaction video to this awesome song!!!!
A great TRILOGY you might be interested in listening to would be:
El Paso (1959 by Mart Robbins)
Feleena (1966 by Mart Robbins)
El Paso City (1976 by Marty Robbins)
7 Spanish Angels (1984 by Ray Charles & Willie Nelson)
Supposedly, "Feleena" was too long of a song to be played on radios during the 1960s-1970s, so it was kind of forgotten. "7 Spanish Angels" came along and was unofficially part of the "El Paso" trilogy. Then "Feleena" was re-discovered and took its rightful place in the story.
ALL 4 of these songs need to be listened to for the INSTRUMENTS, the STORY, and the VOICE(S).
There is a remake of “hey good looking” with all the greats from the 90’s it’s fun and good song
A "key west slang" term for this genre is "Sunburn Music".
It's what tourists want to hear while on vacation and getting sunburned. 😎 🌴
It's upbeat, fun music that makes you feel good. I encourage you to visit the Florida Keys and, especially Key West for a few days. Oh, sometimes the genre is called "Yacht Rock".
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Come on Editor Diane!!, totally Perfect!
You will love Huey Lewis and the news if this is it…. They were super popular and did the theme song to the movie back to the future (the video is super 1980s)
I've only been to one Jimmy Buffett concert. Here in Indianapolis. (A place you should visit, by the way, to attend the Indianapolis 500)
I've never heard of Alan Jackson, but I'm not much of a music listener these days (or ever). This was a great duo for this song. Glen Campbell was a famous singer in the '70's and '80's (mostly country), and Mrs. Jackson was very lucky running into him in the airport. Cheers! 🎵🎶🪕🎸!
sounds serendipitous
Thanks for Making It's 5 0'Clock somewhere Warm Wholehearted Wonderfully Wise Watching Wednesdays Video Very Happy with Good Joyful Vibes.
Key West Florida is the original Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett is the mayor. Beautiful place. Diane I don't think editor Diane would like it but I'm sure you would😂
So many moons ago when I was stationed in S. Korea my Korean girlfriend adored Alan Jackson. She had all of his music and listened to it constantly. Anyway it did not work out between us but this video brought back a few happy and sad memories. Thanks Diane. P.S. ED never give up on love.
Ah, yes. Korean girlfriends. Brings back memories of my time in Kunsan...
Aww music can be so evocative.
Love it best concert I have ever been to
May Jimmy Buffett rest in peace we lost a legend on this one Amanda opened our eyes to country music a man that put everything for the music industry made tons and tons and tons of friends during the music career of his lies well I hope he is dancing with the angels in heaven singing and having fun maybe he’s playing a little old school country music for our Lord and Savior
A comedian, Dusty Slay, did an analysis of this song. I laughed so hard. I was having a good time as he says.
What a good happy song Diane ive forgot about it thanks
🤠👍
If you're going to Chicago, try Chicago deep dish pizza. One person can eat a slice so bring friends to enjoy the whole pizza.
Alan Jackson ~ “Drive”, “Remember When”, “Sissy’s Song”, “Where Were You”…massive catalogue…and Jimmy also had entire CD sets of greatest hits
This is a working mans song when your hard at it and you hear this tune its makes you smile and dream that its 5 oclock somewhere so let er rip !!!!!
Check out his Allman Brothers covers, stunning.
Secondary comment to say:
*PLEASE* look up the band Alabama!! Specifically, the songs "Song of the South," "Mountain Music," "If You're Gonna Play in Texas," and "Angel's Among Us". ❤️
Hi Diane! I was outside the arena in Frisco, Texas one night as part of a clean-up crew for a Jimmy Buffett concert. After about an hour, the concert ended and out staggered the most enebriated crowd of people I've ever seen. I've been to all kinds of bars, rock concerts and even Mardi Gras, but these folks took the cake! They were weaving around like a herd of disoriented cows. I was sitting on the curb near a sign post and this pretty lady reached out to steady herself on the sign pole, missed, and fell in my lap. Her male escort tried to help her up, but fell over backwards and went to sleep. Her head was in my lap and I was in no particular hurry to get up, but they called us in, and I had to go. I guess they got out OK, as they weren't there the next morning. Oh by the way, the last song of the concert was, Everybody Must Get Stoned.
May I recommend Hank Williams Jr.
So hard to pick a song, hes got many good ones.
Family Tradition , Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, "A County Boy Can Survive".
Thanks Diane! That was a very happy song, definitely put a smile on my face! A great song for a Wednesday.
Glad you enjoyed it
Chicago? A cesspool.
One for the aligatorithm. If you like Jimmy, a nice feelings one is "Come Monday"
Alan Jackson is my sister's neighbor in Tennessee. He seems nice enough.
Margueritaville is everywhere..... hmmmm... until you get to old to go there like me... enjoy it why you can!!
You should check out "Bubbles Up" one of the last songs Jimmy did before his passing.
Glenn Campbell..."a music person?!?" "Wichita Lineman?" Also one of the best guitarists ever? You need to check him out.
Yes that was the late great Jimmy Buffett RIP
❤
At 6:46 I agree with You. The Happy Joyful Heart Graphics and making a Heart looks Really Good.
Editor Diane doesn't believe in love?! Yay, she's perfect for me, and always liked her best anyway, those glasses and snarky attitude are so completely hot!!
Jimmy Buffett cheese burger in paradise
Alan Jackson is my favorite singer and does a really great cover of Margaritaville. all of his music is awesome and been my favorite for the last 30 years.
You should check out, Remember when.
Please try Gary Puckett and the Union Gap- Over You and Bobby Caldwell- What you won't do for love.
You probably hear this a lot, but I will write it you are very beautiful and funny also. Great combo
Jimmy Buffet's sings are all really fun songs. I have been a long time fan. It's so sad that he passed away recently.
👍👍👍👍👍
Great memories from this song. If I could only remember them once I sobered up.
Cute as a button and the song was good too😂😎
I've always found that to be a rather odd expression, as I don't ever recall seeing a cute button. Totally agree with the sentiment, though.
This song reminds me of my freshman year in high school. This song was always on the bus when I would be going to school in the morning. I recall my freshman year being a year where I listen to a lot of country music in general. My bus driver liked the country music station and Wisconsin as a state is known for having the largest number of Country Music festivals.
Yasss 🍺
8:02 Missed opportunity to have a clip of Abe Simpson yelling “MATLOCK!!”
