George Carlin is one of those comedians who is so unique that no one one will ever come close to his style of humor. There is a reason he was called the thinking man's comedian.
He’s the master of observational comedy. I take in all views, but know why I disagree in most cases. Philosophy degrees convey power and the ability to infuriate those who are I’ll equipped for rational discourse.
I love listening to George Carlin. I have his AM/FM album. He definitely has a unique style for sure. There are a lot of topics he did that would get a lot of people mad about but there are a lot of truths in them also.
Truer words are rarely spoken, if ever. All the "schooling" in one's life won't mean jack if you don't teach them how to question claims. But the education system doesn't want that because - to paraphrase a line from the last scene of Good Morning Vietnam (1987) "They don't want our children to say or do anything controversial". Whether it's the powers-that-be, parents, or PTAs (parent-teacher associations) are ignorant and the questioners uncovered it or if that questioning is a threat to their power over the community doesn't matter. This lack of critical thinking will keep individuals and society stagnant. Fortunately, the Internet does offer hope (as it's a source of info independent of the local community, new media, advertizers and the entertainment industry).
