Alan wrote this as a loving tribute to his wife and family. The photos are of his kids and he dances with his wife. He’s a phenomenal songwriter and performer!

Love ol Alan! Him, George Strait and Brooks And Dunn really carried country music in the 90's and early 2000's. Hard boots to fill!

Alan Jackson was my first favorite artist, since I was about 4 years old in the mid 90's. He's got a huge catalog of great hit songs.

About 8-9 years ago, at my oldest daughter's wedding, I asked the dj to play this. As it came on, I asked my wife to dance. By the end of the song, she had tears in her eyes. Our daughter, dancing with her husband next to us, was crying also. Back to now, this Dec we will celebrate our 30th anniversary and renew our vows. Guaranteed, this song will be played. I do Remember When 30 seemed so old. I'm 59 now.

Sometimes people really do mean it when they say "forever". ❤ My parents started dating when they were 15 & 16. They got married 3 years later. Daddy died at age 89, just a few months short of their 70th wedding anniversary ...and Momma followed him a year later when she was 89 (in February this year). They still acted like youngsters in love up until the end. 💕

I "remember when" this song came out because I turned 30 a few months later. Had a little one and everything so it really hit me hard. Now, I'm nearly 50 and even though I didn't have a typical, let alone fairy tale life, this song still brings a tear to my eye because it's one of those perfectly relatable songs to so many people. Life in a nutshell.
Sidenote: Released 2003, which would be 20 years ago. (I'm a math wiz)

If you wanna "know" America in its core . . . Suggestions: Alan Jackson, "Daddy Let Me Drive." And anything by Toby Keith, Jamey Johnson ("Shoulda Seen it in Color,") or Trace Adkins ("Till The last Shots' Fired") . . . OR Hank Williams Jr., "A Country Boy Can Survive."
