I love neutrals and have been really inspired by Kdrama. I also love Claudia Winkleman's style. I have very few clothes I think. I have half empty wardrobes and draws, I'm on a mission to stock up, but with really well chosen items and it's taking ages!

It does take ages to get it right and it should too. It’s not something that should be rushed. Have you tried the Pinterest board idea for inspiration?

Neutrals 🫤 I have a few, but neutral browns and tans are not my thing. My closet is full of patterned dresses and jeans and tops. Colors of blues, pinks, white-off white, greens. I do have a few tops of white-off white and black or grey as my neutrals. I guess my neutrals are limited to those. The tans and browns are pretty nonexistent as I have a hard time finding the cooler tones in them. I may have to buy fabric and sew my own clothing for that color of neutral such as taupe and more muted grey-browns. I just don’t see things I like in the stores or thrift.

You do not need to have warm based or brown neutrals if they do not work for you. Stick to what works. Have you had your colours done?

@@capsuleclosetstylist Yes I have and I was a true summer. But another color analysis I had done 10 years ago classified me as me as ‘summer’. I know saturated winter tones wash me out, and I don’t like autumn colors and spring pastels and colors make me look sickly. So I agree I’m in the summer season.

The problem I am frequently finding with private clients is that most of these colour analysis decisions are based on simple predefined palettes IE 'summer' 'cool summer' etc. Whilst these are a great start to determining what colours work, most people only partially fall into one of those predefined boxes. I find with most clients that I need to adjust some of the colours and replace them with more appropriate options so it is much more specified to them personally. You only have to look out of the window to see that all those people can not possibly fall simply into 12 categories. It may be that 'summer' is your season but you might have features that fall slightly into another category too hence the slight confusion. In this instance, I would go with the colours in your palette that feel better on you. Go by your instincts.

I'm buying more neutrals so I have choice with other colours. It works well. Finding clothes to fit well isn't easy when you're five ft! Petite doesn't fit me.
I probably wear 10% of my wardrobe.

I’m 5’3”. I have to have my clothes tailored (either by me or an outside alterations person) because hemlines are usually too long, the waist is too big, and I’m shorter from shoulder to waist which means the straps are usually too long (or bodice of outfits). Tailoring an item I love and want to wear frequently is worth the money to me. I have altered dresses and items in my closet decades old that fit me perfect and I still wear. Try alterations if it’s a loved item. 🥰

It’s entirely up to you. In that case I would divide up the rest of your time from 100% and go from there. You can just create a capsule for work so there is no reason why you can not create one purely for at home and leisure. 🙂
