    Doing it in 2021 is impressive, but making it back in 1999-2000 in some basement at Paris without any ‘advanced’ technology and electronics we have today is beyond genius.

      @@speeddemon2901 the song was co-produced (and sung!) by Todd Edwards, the microsampling present on Face To Face is a trademark of his! i recommend checking his stuff out for more really brainsizzling sample usage like that

    Okay, I'd never thought of looking up the Face to Face samples, but holy FUCK that's such an out of the box chop, like what the fuck were they even thinking getting that many different songs to sample...that's one of the craziest chops I've ever seen.

      It was an exercise between Todd Edwards and DP in blending their musical styles. Todd samples a ton of records in a song, (listen to at least some of his singles, they’re worth your time, please) and DP also samples and tribute’d his style on High Fidelity off their first record. They went sifting through their record collections for things that they thought would mesh well together and even looking for corresponding names; “Evil Woman” from ELO’s FACE the music, “Tell Me to My FACE” by Tim Weisenberg etc. It’s a presentation of their chemistry as musical artists. Todd Edwards even sings on the track, Face to Face.

    How on earth do people identify these tracks from small snippets, if it's not daft punk themselves giving the names away? Were the samples listed on the record sleeve notes?

      Some but most were identified years after the album was released through very dedicated fans. I hope this doesn’t blow back on them legally.

      Daft Punk has to legally specify what samples they are using in order for them to pay royalties to the original artists, or else you will expect lawsuits from the original artists :)

    The discovery album, oh the discovery album. It is one of the best albums of music ever and I'm sure as hell that Daft Punk have more music that's as golden as it _(such as get lucky n everything else)_

    Um dos, senão o melhor álbum de dance/house de toda a história, os samples nesse disco são incríveis, remontam aos tempos em que a música eletrônica só era coisa de Kraftwerk e Giorgio Moroder. Daft Punk literalmente garimpou os seus samples nos melhores e mais proeminentes artistas da música eletrônica dos anos 70 e 80, que dupla incrível.
