I don't know why I have to say this, but to the PC nerds, I just want y'all to know I own EVERY platform currently (with the exception of an Xbox) to include a good PC. I even stated that in video, but expecting a PC snob to watch a 12 minute video is apparently too much to ask these days. The point of my video isn't "Ermmm PC bad, console good!! Stop taking my games☝️🤓" the point was that consoles (other than the switch) are becoming pointless to own due to companies like Sony and Microsoft bringing all of their exclusives to the PC, thus nullifying the reason we invested in the platform in the first place. It's really not that hard to understand.
Keep crying harder kid lmao console exclusives are dying and that's great for both the industry and the consumers, not to mention how beneficial it isfor the PC since it's the most pro consumer gaming market and where the majority of the people are playing. Also face it, no sensible human beings is buying a console for 2-3 games expect for the bootlickers such as yourself. You can throw all the petty insults you want, the facts are not changing: Games are and never should be used as bragging rights, and should be played by anyone no matter the platform. And besides, please try explaining how now that half of Sony's library is on PC, the consoles are still selling just fine? Maybe exclusives aren't that important of a selling point as you guys thought and in reality is a dated business practise that doesn't make any financial sense anymore and should just disappear as it benefits no one nor helps selling consoles anymore.
It makes things worse when you remember back when the the ps5 was just released the people who were supposed to be delivering the packages with them inside ended up stealing them.

My issue is even the multiplats aren't pushing the technology of ps5 and Series X. Arkham Knight still looks better than most of the games out today.
So you don't understand that developers need to figure out how to unlock 2nd & 3rd gen games on each console and the last years of any console lifespan look the best...

Nintendo= Releases mostly Games which is extremely safe when it comes to Gameplay.+ push out a lot of Wiiu games.
Sony= releases cinema style games..Aka Story first gameplay second.
Microsoft= Seems to forget that they have a console. Of which their entire focus is on their online service.
I hate that about this generation of console gaming. It makes me want to go back three generations ago.
To be fair, most people didn't play those Wii U games since the console failed.

You're right, exclusively matters to selling a platform.
It doesn't matter to me who just wants to play a video game without a $500 markup for a console I don't want.
It's kind of the same situation with the PS3. Nobody really tapped into the full potential of the console because it's chipset was too complicated and took a lot of programming to tap into. I think cross gen is holding the PS5 and Series X back. You can't fully tap into the power of the PS5 or Xbox series X because you have to also develop the PS4 version of the game.

I think the only reason to buy a console is to play GTA 6 on day 1. Rockstar is known to delay their PC release for a year.

That’s one thing I loved about generations 4-7.
I mean Gen 2 was dominated by Atari. Gen 3 was dominated by NES.
Gen 4 was SNES vs SG. Both had a lot exclusives. And the games they both had were very different in terms of graphics and sounds .
Gen 5 was PS1 vs N64. Both consoles were vastly different from one another. Like if you got one, you were seriously missing out on the other no matter which one you bought. Like it was almost worth buying both of you could afford both. Which most people couldn’t.
I got both consoles but I also hadnt had a new one since my PS3/360. Being able to play both PS4 and 5 games is the only reason it's been worth it to this point.
I think 360, PS3 and Wii U were the last great consoles. The only consoles i care about in 2024 is PC Handhelds.
I own the "Lenovo Legion Go" which can run all games ever made last 50 years up to 2024.

But honestly I agree with you. There's really no reason to buy a PS5 and especially no reason to buy an Xbox Series X when you can play all of those games on other platforms (mainly PC). But I also think that this way more people get to enjoy certain games without having to buy a whole console for them. You have no idea how happy Persona 5 Royal coming to Steam made me.
At least with the PS5 you can play Bloodborne at 4K 60fps...God I really want to play Bloodborne.
I get that, I'm glad that everyone gets to experience these games now. Its just I don't see why a lot of PC users have to act like people are toxic for being upset over losing their consoles games. I think its pretty justified to be a little upset over.

the only console i say has some sort of value is the series S ..this thing costs as much as a standard office laptop but the performance you get is better than your high end gaming laptop, and the portability is there as well... the series S is the smartest purchase you can make right now from this generation of consoles

I'm sick of consoles, mostly Xbox and their BS Enforcement team banning me twice just for playing 360 games and getting achievements in offline mode and signing in later to sync them to the cloud. They'll reason was I was cheating. How is playing 360 games in offline mode cheating?
Yeah it was cool when i first bought it but now i dont have it on much time, mostly i play it on my pc, i wish i saved the money and got a better gpu instead
I get some of your points. But why should it be a problem that more people get to play a game? It’s not as if you loose your right to play the game. I don’t get how that’s better for the consumer in any way.In an ideal world exclusive games shouldn’t exist, and ppl should be able to play games cross platform.

I get what you are saying. I hear of people and their 4k TVs which aren't expensive and ps5's they paid 700 dollars for years ago that they barely play. It's weird even without resell value (people stop reselling the ps5s because there finally is an adequate amount) the 400-500 for a 4k tv and ps5 which will still amount to about 1k doesn't seem worth it. It's like getting gym equipment and not even using it or thinking you needed it and end up not really using it. I hate that. So, when people ask me if I would buy a ps5 I say not yet. People rave about the spiderman games sorry I am a student fulltime and work fulltime the majority of my 20's now in my 30's I just turned 30 I rather spend my time lifting weights or chasing girls, out with friends. Gaming lost its edge due to corporate greed. You are right. I am having a good time here and there barrowing a game like ragnork or rdr2 from a friend who passed it and doesn't care to let me barrow it on my 1080p LED tv 60hz on my ps4 it played marvelously and playing halo infinite on my pc usually at high settings and watching UA-cam. I would rather spend that money on a tablet or my laptop for school which I did end up using a few times for presentations and junk. Pcs are just so much better even if the ports suck hackers and update patches will make it right. The ps5 3 years in going on 4 is still barely showing it's value because of games like spiderman which I hear is a pander verse disaster with BLM markings, feminism and all that junk which I don't support. I just want a good game. Idc for any of that lol. The Sony studios adding the Loki missions was hilarious like why tf is there a black chick in a Norse mythology game wtf. I think with time and maturity you are like wow that ps5 and 4k tv was literally a flex even 4 years after I would of been fine with a ps4 and better off buying an elite pc which has a wider range of games or a switch if I didn't have and enjoy Nintendo games which I do. I love my switch and even though a lot of people cry and whine the new pokemon games are pretty good. I would rather spend that money on a vacation, rave, Vegas getaway. We lost the escapism and entered the panderverse along with games just making microtransactions. Studios stopped trying and keep reviving old IP's. I still have tons of games like rdr2 which my friend let me barrow. Playing that game at 1080p 60hz is perfectly fine with me lol who tf has all the time in the world to enjoy these games like that. lol. Especially when most are open world lol. I still have the first spiderman, rdr2 and dark souls 3 to play on my ps4 oh yeah and uncharted 4 lol wtf. If I want to buy a new game like dead island 2 I just wait for it to go on sale or for a friend to pass it and bam I pass it and have fun. Gaming isn't such a big thing anymore it literally is just some fun when you have free time. some people have way too much freetime lol.
Have you checked out the retro homebrew scene? There are tons of people making new games for retro consoles and its more interested than this generation.

@@mikerochburns4104 Wrong on cpu. The PC equivalent is eight-core Zen 2 Ryzen 7 3700X which is around goes around 210-220, went around 300 in Nov 2020 when the consoles came out. Consoles use a 8 zen 2 cores.
9th gen has been active for 3 years, which at this point should have had its own counterpart to 2007 or 2003 in relation to game releases.
Aka a time when a Console gen get the most next gen games, which drives people to buy the consoles.

Absolutely there is really no reason and no real difference in this generation than the last. And BC games, along with too many remasters make up this generation overall. With very few new IP"s, and if so they are horrible ports and hindered by the abysmal performance behind Unreal Engine 5. And it's not getting any better. A slight bump in fps, load times and barely any graphical difference, doesn't warrant the purchase of a $450 to $500 console at all. And I don't count the Series S as current gen at all. I have a One X I play all the time, and a PS5 I've barely touched since this generation started. Also a Steam Deck which is the best imo. it's immersive innovative and just a blast to play. So there you go.
There's no way you can sit here with a straight face & tell me Arkham Knight looks as good as Calisto Protocol PS5 version.

The sad truth is that when sony has a successful console they tend to get an ego about it and end up paying for it with the next system.
I hate how "consoles should have exclusives" is becoming an unpopular opinion. Like if everything is on pc, what the hell is the point in console gaming? Just buy a pc. I fail to understand how people can be okay with this. If we have exclusive games, it creates competition, giving us better games and a reason to go for a console over a pc other than just "oh its cheaper". Like the only reason to buy a Series X or S or a Ps5 is if you cant afford a pc. This Is why I turn to Nintendo, while the Switch is not beyond criticism. It actually has games! Mario, Zelda, Smash! I am a pc player but for most of my childhood i was a wii/wiiu player, i hated how the only popular nonnintendo game i could get was minecraft, i think exclusives are anti-consumer, it makes people have to buy several hundred dollar machines if they wanna play games not just from one company, i rather buy a 1000 dollar machine that can play everything known to man than two 700 dollar things to play 2 different games

Welp looking back so far… yea my ps5 has basically been a UA-cam & 1 month cod box whenever they release a new map 😂 also haven’t paid full price for a game since Cold War. I get most of them from the library

Crossgen needs to die in order for the PS5 to emerge as the fantastically powerful hardware we know it can be and as laid out in Mark Cerny's roadmap. Here's hoping Spider-Man 2 is the beginning of the generation proper.

I didn't buy any of the generations of game consoles or video games. Except the current 9th generations PS5 and only because I'm in my mid 20's.and feel old I do have to say after I spent few weeks finishing a game I couldn't find myself going back and replaying the game again.
FUN FACT did you know all your exclusive games are made on a pc ? remember e3 2013 or 2014 where both sony and Microsoft both got caught using pcs with 750 tis at the time those the best cards too get not time evolved also both complains still use the this was recorded on a ps5 or recorded on a xbox when they both was on pc inreality . did you know the the level desine characters voice lines everything data coding was all made on a pc ? also i own all platforms whats wrong with that i game on a pc but prefer pc bit more but if a pc port is crap i just play it on my xbox one my xbox series x is my 3rd party machine and my ps5 is for exclusive or rpg stuff or anime and pc is for fighting and retro emulation ps1 ps2 ps3 psps ps vita 3ds ds gamecube wii wii u switch games i emulate all of those . i even own a switch as well i like too own my games before pirating and emulating .

I decided to finally skip a playstation generation and decided to build a pc only reason o boot up my ps4 is to play bloodborne.
not entirely but yes I used be able play games online at one time with my friends without need for playstation plus membership was bad enough now games don't look as good as they should do to many sequels and reboots if wanted this would of gotten xbox system.

If you ain't reading all that then: L opinions
While buying a console and then having many games go to PC is annoying, you still have exclusives such as : Gran Tourismo, God of war Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon: Forbidden West, Spiderman 2 and Demons Souls (+ like 10 other psvr2 exclusives and also psvr2 is an incredible value compared to pc headsets). Granted, some of those might come to pc but even then were not absolutely sure about that and they would be console exclusives for at least a year. I have a PC and will be getting a PS5 because of that.
One other thing is a console has much faster loading times (on the internal ssd) compared to all pc games except for the three that have direct storage. PS5 also has the incredible rumble and adaptvie triggers that you can olny experience in ~30 games on PC compared to the 100s on PS5.
The other thing with 4K 120, that shit is hard to run. You would be looking at a $200 price hike on the console if it was powerful enough to do that. Most games don't need 4k 120 either. Some like COD would benefit but 60 is still pretty good. The trade off is also fidelity vs frame rate. Would you rather have great graphics or 120fps.
PS4 can technically run current games on the PS5 but the graphics are worse, you can only do 4K 30, which is worse compared to the 4K 60 the PS5 can do and the loading tines while not massively longer are longer. Plus the new controller is really great.
One last thing, you can get great value, not only in price, but in convinience from a console. You dont have to worry about how much to spend, what parts specifically to go with or what graphics settings to use. It done for you, which some may not like, but an average consumer might not want go deal with all of that hassle and just get a console for its simplicity.
A year later this video was posted, and the current gen consoles are in a far worse spot.
Monopolies are bad. But what happens when 1 platform just keeps doing everything right while the rest just keep shooting themselves in the foot at each turn?
Gabe Newell has proved that STEAM is worthy of handling the gaming industry. And, out of all the platforms, STEAM is the most pro consumer of them all. Besides the "you'll own nothing and you'll be happy part" but, even consoles are on that path already. Physical copies for XBOX and Playstation are basically glorified coasters at this point.
So it makes sense that both Microsoft and Sony follow SEGA's path in favor of PC.
As for Nintendo, they can keep doing their thing. They have this magic where, no matter what they do, they end up winning in the end. But every time I want to praise them, they pull something that makes me change my mind like canceling competitions that involve their games and being against emulation.
So in the end, all there will be left will be PC and Nintendo. And nothing will change that.
I get this where ppl seem to think its spiteful not to want your console exclusives on pc, look u invest in a console mainly for the exclusives lets be honest so of course ppl who drop the cash for a console are pissed off seeing the games on PC they think whats the point in me buying the hardware anymore. I would have to buy a PlayStation to play GTA 6 because I don't own any console. But, I'm not buying a console just to play 1 or 2 games. I rather do the same I did with GTA 5 and wait 2 years for the PC release. The only downside was avoiding spoilers but it wasn't all that difficult.

Exclusives are an anti-consumer way of making you buy a box you don't want to buy just to play a game you really want to play. If these companies want me to buy their console then make them worth buying by implementing new/better features and technology not "please pay $500 to play TLOU" or "please pay $500 to play Halo" console players are brainwashed.

PC market doesn’t a ton of crossover with PS market and considering PlayStation alone makes money threw game sales porting games which doesn’t cost them much just kinda makes sense for them
Nintendo on the other hand does make a profit from both selling Switches and games so the PC porting incentive just doesn’t really exist for them (plus we all know how Anual Nintendo is with there IP’s)

Tbf that's kind of how it's always been like Crash and Spyro even during the PS1 days were made by outside studios. Like Naughty Dog and Insomniac. I think it's less of Sony having a lack of talent and more of those studios not having the same people working there that made them great in the first place. Compare the dev team of Naughty Dog back in 2010 to 2024 and its a drastic difference of people.

Great video. I remember when Sony was first going to roll out console games on PC a couple years ago I made a video in defiance for it and a toxic UA-camr who is way bigger than me found my little tiny channel and decided to roast me on theirs. Saying that my opinion was wrong. That everybody should get to play these games. For what they fill to understand is that without exclusives there is no reason to buy a console. I'm a physical game collector. But we have seen that buying physical copies isn't really a lucrative thing for a collection now. So many game-breaking bugs patches glitches and issues that you have to download because developers and license holders or lazy and they want to ship a game and charge $60/$70 for it When it's incomplete and broken. Makes a lot of these physical copies coasters.
Back when we had exclusive titles on consoles It made you want to invest in the platform. If that wasn't the case then the Nintendo switch wouldn't be a massive seller and people wouldn't be buying the device. Guarantee you put all the nintendos first party titles on PC and no one would ever buy a Nintendo Switch. If they wanted it portable they just buy a steam deck.
The whole reason Sony shifted to this mentality is because of Microsoft. Microsoft is the most anti-consumer anti game preservation anti ownership company I've ever seen.
They slowly push other companies to adopt the same mentality. They were the first company to charge online membership for video games, They try to force the Xbox One to be a console that was heavily DRM and against consumer rights. And they pushed Game pass onto the world convincing everybody it's a good deal to make them not want to buy physical games which in fact takes away game ownership from the consumer. And their next roll out of consoles has no disk drives in them whatsoever because they want everybody to invest in game pass.
Sony has slowly over the course of the PS4 and now the PS5 life cycle of adopted Microsoft ideologies into their company to where they have become SonySoft. And Nintendo starting to dabble in online and paid subscriptions is doing the same.
Microsoft is doing what Valve did to PC. Take away physical games and get everybody addicted to Steam. So we've lost our exclusives We're going to lose disk drives in our game consoles We're going to lose physical games just like we're losing physical movies cuz everybody wants to pay for a subscription service.
Things are getting bad. The only way they can get better is if the consumers stand up and say no to this shit. Problem is they've been so desensitized and to thinking these are good deals that they're going to just roll with it. I don't even want to know what the PS6 will look like. Think it'll be a all digital piece of 💩. With no exclusives and no physical games they'll be no reason to buy it over a PC.

the only consoles that i can make an exception to this is the 3ds and WiiU and that is because majority of the games on that console are made with dual screens... (a unique gimmick exclusively featured in those said console that stand out compared to others)

Did you even watch my video? You say that as if I don't have a PC/haven't been a PC gamer. The main point is that exclusivity is what draws the general consumer to a platform. Not only are exclusives good for the market by preventing monopolies from happening, but the consumer gets better games at the same time because every company is going to compete for your attention by making better and better games that you're gonna wanna play.

PS4 SUX, PS5 SUX. I wasted my money on both. 3 months after buying 2 PS5s I built 2 gaming PCs for me and my son. PS5 was a waste of $1800. Face the facts.. my Nintendo Switch is far superior gaming experience than the PS4, PS5 or Xbox.

imagine paying $500 for 30 fps when you could pay an extra $500 for 144 or higher fps and free online play....a console gen typically lasts 7 years, that is $420 just to play online per generation which is disgusting when you can do it for free on pc and use that money you would have spent to play online on consoles to get a much better pc XD. Add on to that you only need to upgrade a pc every 10 years providing you get a good build at the time you buy it. The even more embarrasing part? you need ps+ to have cloud saves on ps5, while steam cloud is 100% free and backs up your saves lol. Consoles are just a scam, they are legit ripping everyone off with inferior hardware and insane subscriptions
