Vande Sangeetam!
To music, I take a bow. It gives us so much, from rejuvenating our spirits and cleansing our mind, to a sense of physical well being and a definite spiritual direction if we choose. Sometime during our life, we need to prostrate before this power. We attempt here to share all that it has given us- Composers, ragas, thoughts on puranas. We also try to look at what we should do, individually and collectively, to ensure that its purity and profound beauty are passed on to the generation next.
Recorded in natural setting in a village Mundaje, Karnataka.

Excellent and Divine Sir
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Excellent anecdote and importance of Thituvaniakaval
Very nice with the explanation
Excellent.
The series started with “Karikalaba Mukham” an ode to the elephant God and makes its pit stop today at திருவானைக்காவல், another monumental kshethram. sAveri flows from one kshethra to the other piggybacking on the Kaveri and delivered in the Vidwan’s inimitable style. The greatness of the Smt DKP / Sri DKJ Parampara showcased week after week in each lovely episode. Nice to listen to the “ஜம்புபதி விலாசினி” Charanam which is rarely rendered. Vande Sangeetham 🙏
Lovely Kriti with the unheard charanam. May Akhilandeswari and Jambukeswara bless you always.🌷
The happiness and divinity always brims listening to Vande sangeetham... It just flows like kaveri when Vande sangeetham is a kaveri series. And today it has overflown and soaked, reaching Thiruvaikaval - being our native place.. Thank you very much Sir for sharing this rare charanam of the krithi..
And Sri Jambhukeshwara. Great to see the Swamy as his Sannidhi is flooded with water always. One of the greatest temples of the Panchabhootha Sthalam.
Difference between Vijayji and other artists is this one..Congratulations Vijayji.
Namaskaram sir. I will never forget the day in my life on which your good self sang Jampupathe in front of Jambukeswara and Sankari Sankuru in front of Akhilandeswari. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Namaskaram Sir. Very happy to hear your explanations about Thiruvanaikka & Akhilandeshwari
A couple of weeks back I stumbled upon your presentation on the Panchabhootasthala Kritihis by Muthuswami Dikshitar. I listened to the entire presentation while following only a small part of it, because I don't know Tamil. The title of today's episode sparked some hope that I may at least hear something about Dikshitar krithis on Jambukeshwar ( I am a big fan of your rendition of Jambupathe), especially Akhilandeshwari Rakshamam ( supposedly controversies exist regarding the composer), lesser known Akhilandesvaryai Namaste in Arabhi or Sri Maatha Siva Vamanke in Begada.
The episode differed from my initial expectations, but was nevertheless very enjoyable. I hadn't heard this Shyama Shastry composition before and it does invoke the notion of a rippling river. Thank you for an informative and musical episode.
Any chance the Vande Sangeetam series will touch upon Dikshitar compositions on Siva as embodiment of the five elements (and Parvati as the consorts in each of these temples)? So looking forward to the next episodes.
If possible, please consider a series on Kamalamba Navavarana kritis. Would enjoy hearing the meaning and context behind this masterpiece series of Dikshithar.
Namaste Sir!
Your depth of knowledge is awe inspiring.
That you willingly share it with us is awesome.
Each episode is like a thesis submitted after a research.
Some of this information won't be available anywhere else.
I can see an aura around your head in some of the videos.
I am really awestruck and inspired by your rich contribution.
"Vande sangeetham" is the most appropriate title for this series.
You are really worshipping Music and Musicians here. May You Be Blessed!
Superb explanation about the Kirthanam Shankari Shankuru and got a new information that this Kirthanam flows like a river. I often heard this Kirthanam and used to wonder what would have gone in Syama Shastrigal's mind to compose in such a gait which flows like a river and got the answer in this Vande Sangeetham episode. Another Kirthanam having the presence of a liquid water body is the famous Panchabootha Kirthanam Jambupathe in Yamuna Ragam in Muthuswami Deekshitar's Raganga Ragam system which is Yamunakalyani Ragam in Melakartha System of Ragam's. You can feel the presence of water in the words used by Deekshitar in this Kirthanam on Tiruvanaikaval which is associated with water.
...very true, sir👍👍
Perhaps the first time I'm hearing that the song Shankari Shamkuru is composed akin to flowing like a river. All these insights are what make these episodes enlightening.
One of my favourite temple. Thank you so much sir for the beautiful song. Nowadays Wednesday became so special and I am so excited to hear and learn from vande sangeetham 🙏
