What an absolutely magical dhanyasi from Vijay Siva sir. The genius of dikshitar is just casually strewn about in this song. Just listen to the madhyama kala portion of the anupallavi 10:30, such a thrilling change of pace, well anticipated by patri anna. Many pranams to Muthuswamy Dikshitar, a nadayogi for the ages. ❤️

Dhanyaasi Ragam' scale is Aa:S G2 M1 P N2 S / Av: S N2 D1 P M1 G2 R1 S. In fact the ragam as per Dikshitar sthithi uses chathusruti rishabham (R2) in the descending scale, in place of shuddha rishabham (R1), and brings it under as a Janyaragam of the the 20th Melakarta Natabhairavi ( in lieu of 8th Melakarta Hanumatodi Janya). I strongly believe that any vocalist who sings with devotion will fall in line with Dikshitar's perception of raga set for the same, spontaneously! Here veteran Vocalist Vijay Siva did sing so perfectly with clear tone n diction. presented a class swarakalpana...very good recital
