Loki going on to Brad "you're such a good actor !" So it's about an actor (Tom Hiddleston), playing a god, playing a detective, telling another actor who's portraying a multiversal hunter, who's posing as an actor, how good of an actor he is... I mean, the amount of meta layers in here are next level !
Another great episode. You really felt the dread during the prunning of all branches. OB and KC are gonna be the MVPs this season. The chemistry with all the actors in this series are on point.
Pretty sure that running after Renslayer, who went back in time to meet Victor Timely in the 19th century, who's actually the origin story of He Who Remains, who as a Kang variant, already has innate knowledge of how time works and how to harness it, already cooked up some incomplete and experimental theories on how to harness it, and they're going to fetch him back to the TVA so that he could restart the timeloop of the TVA after he's exposed to OB's advanced tech and completes his researches.
I loved this episode, especially with Brad cajoling Loki. I kind of wish they'd pushed it even further in the second interrogation. I know that Loki and Mobius had a script going. But what if at the very end when they'd gotten the info they wanted, Loki truly went off script, and had a real moment of consideration in which Brad, Mobius and the audience sees that he's actually considering just squishing Brad. (He ultimately wouldn't. But I would've loved to have seen some genuine indecision there and really give Loki some edge.)
I think He Who Remains wanted Sylvie to have the disk, his tem pad, for his master plan. Sylvie will use it to his advantage. Or maybe for the TVA's advantage. We'll see.
Hi Dustin and Wendy Enjoyed your reaction to this episode of loki . I enjoyed your part where loki did the torture box bring in a low dark side of him he still got it even with his powers !!
I like how Dustin just makes up random thoughts. This being Marvel, one of them is in fact bound to be right, and in episode 6 Dustin will be able to go "See, I told you: Key Lime Pie was the secret to all of it!"
@The Movie Couple, 2:27 "1977, I wonder what's (going on?)" To be honest, I'm surprised Disney didn't plug Star Wars! 22:56 I think they can--we saw a future in episode one that looked really, really dire; the temporal loom was looking worse off then in comparison to now just before General Dox and her team bombed the branches in the present. Sylvie has He Who Remains (HWR)'s Temp Pad, the master key. Surely, HWR gave himself the bells and whistles on his own Temp Pad, enabling him to do much more than what his TVA grunts could do, and didn't we already get a taste of that? Sylvie pushed Loki through a Time Door created from HWR's Temp Pad, and the result was Loki Time Slipping through time, yet Sylvie is able to use it with ease, no Time Slipping for her. Why? My guess is because HWR's Temp Pad is a lot like Miguel O'Hara's Time Watch! As long as Sylvie wears HWR's Temp Pad while using it, she's tethered to whatever time she travels to. 32:03 What happens when a Time Stick/bomb prunes something? Does it prune just a portion or the whole thing? Loki pruning the wall last episode aside, generally, the stick/bomb prunes the entire person/thing as we saw in the video Miss Minutes showed us in episode one of season one or any person or place pruned after that point and time. What's the purpose of the TVA? To protect the Sacred Timeline. What is the Sacred Timeline? It's the Multiverse running in a perpetual loop, where the end of time runs into the beginning of time, repeating itself over and over again. When does time end? Just before the birth of Nathaniel Richards. Why? Because Kang wants to be the last man standing, the Kang who won, and that's the way things have been for a million years per HWR's explanation during the season finale last year. The TVA has been erasing Nexus Events because Nexus Events creates branches that allow time to move beyond HWR's carefully crafted story that prevents his own birth. I assume Nexus Events is the Multiverse trying to break free from its time-looped prison. 23:21 Exactly! She used it to kick Loki through time and to escape the Citadel at the End of Time when she went to 1982.
@themoviecouple Brad reminds me of how Zemo gets in people's head(without any powers). Sylvie should feel bad because of her actions in season 1(seeing all those timelines/people being pruned)!!
Sure, the surviving branches will branch out again. Even the Sacred Timeline will branch out again too. It's inevitable. But that shouldn't discount the significance of losing almost every existing branch right now. It's like the mass extinctions in Earth's history. Life always finds a way to bounce back and thrive again, but so much had still been lost. We may never get anything close to resembling dinosaurs ever again.
I love that they can take a relatively obscure Thor villain and interlace it with this story, without the original's more gruesome aspects. It makes you wonder what other deep cuts they might be hiding behind those TVA codenames. Also, I hope we see Hunter B-15 doing more field work in costume (instead of TVA uniform).
13:05 yeaaaah the fear of having the actual means to look at what your life could have been or even should have been and comparing your current life(especially if it's not exactly ideal) to that can definitely be bad to your mental health if what could have been was 10 to 20 times better than your current present. Sometimes ignorance truly is bliss and im glad they touched on this potential dilemma for the people of the TVA.
I know a lot of viewers will say “Why is it such a big deal, we never met or even saw any of those universes”. But if you’ve seen either of the Spiderverse movies or even Everything, Everywhere, All At Once then you would know that their lives matter just as much as the characters in our universe. Think of it like if Miles Morales or Spider-Gwen were just erased. Or even Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men were just erased!!! So yeah, this is a very heavy loss, even worse than the Blip. Also Tom Hiddleston in that tuxedo just makes me imagine another universe where Tom became the new James Bond. And god is it great to see Loki be who and what he truly is, not a hero, not a villain, but the freaking GOD OF MISCHIEF!!!!!
The branches have been pruned...and it's a tragedy...but the fact is, there will be more new ones. There's no "script" anymore. Which means soon everything will just start branching all over again. That said...this is likely to be the final nail in the coffin of the Temporal Loom. It was already under tremendous strain because of all the extra branches, which have now all suddenly vanished. That's a pretty catastrophic change of status. And now those branches are going to start cropping back up pretty soon too. So it was strained to a breaking point...dropped into free-fall...and now is about to have that pressure reapplied WHILE it's in metaphorical free-fall. Just like heating, freezing, and reheating something too quickly... Boom...
They haven't all vanished. Only 30% and max 40%. Sylvie was in a branched timeline where episode ends, and Renslayer's tempad was also detected on a branched timeline. It'll be good for loom. It hasn't been retrofitted to work with more stuff, and the first thing O.B. suggested was pruning them all away.
I think what is in question is the role of the TVA. If the TVA was there to prune timelines, now they want them to exist and not prune. BUT they need the Loom to tie all of the various timelines into a central one. Why? And if the Loom blows up it'll take the TVA with it. And? So what is the role of the TVA now? And what happens if you let the timelines keep branching infinitely? Isn't that the natural state of things before He Who Remains chose a "Sacred Timeline?" Hmmmmmm...
Hi Dustin windy love your reaction to this episode of loki light the power he was doing this torture square box and fan boy the book I wonder what next episode is gonna be about? Good to see Sylvie 💚 Tom Hiddleston looked amazing at his black suit I hope we get to see him Dressed up in his uniform if he's getting a new one.
Hi Dustin & Wendy, Good to see you guys! Are you both familiar with the Goosebumps books? There's actually a new Goosebumps TV series on Disney plus and was wondering if you have interest in reviewing it when the show is over? Its pretty good so far and feel like not a lot of people are aware of the show's existence. As always, thanks for the great content guys! ✌😊
Dustin always thinks a character is trying to one up another or pull something over on them or that they plant things for other people and then gets that debunked 15 minutes later, I love the questions though 🤣🤣
Janet being the hero, "Oh, you are killing people!" All of that sh!t, and Kang is over there like, "Oh, that doesn't matter." And now Loki being like, "Oh, playing god." And "How do you decide who lives and who dies?" And B-15 being like, "Those are people." No BS, at the final part of the Multiversal Saga people will be routing for Kang, or saying that Kang is right, like as Kang said, and the other versions of him and those things, they will destroy the timelines, or the incusions will destroy the Universes and timelines anyway, so there is no real way to save the people that Janet and B-15 mentions, because they are all going to die anyways, and so they would be left with, "it's either they die, or everyone dies," kind of situation, where sacrificing a few lives and universes means and ensures the survival of everyone else, or at least save as much as can be saved, because in this situation with Kang and the incursions and all that not everyone can be saved.
I think there's something up with the pie thing, too... When Mobius went to McDonald's he ordered the Apple pie... I'm guessing that Jack, Silvie's coworker (young Jack) is "Young Mobius" in that timeline... 🤔 Huummmm.....
I hope she experiences some personal growth in this season. She’s stuck in this “hate against the TVA” mindset and really needs to start thinking that this is bigger than her and bigger than the TVA. But she’s behind in that perspective.
@@TheIcemanthomas What if her nexus event is a self-fulfilling loop. She was always going to kill HWR and so she always had to be taken in, so the loop could start again.
So far it keep getting better and more interesting by the minute. To answer dustin question consider the branching timeline as a massive overgrowth many timelines spawning all at once what dox and her loyalist did was a temporal deforestation if you will; that in turned purged roughly 30 to 80 % on the timelines leaving a 20% of more manageable timeline that the loom could theoretically handle more easily. This season definitely switches mobius and lokis dynamic and continues to futher their character development. The ob and casey moment was hilarious. I think the recurring theme or one of this seasons themes is accountability and coming to terms with the past; by this i mean loki continues his journey to make amends from his sins, b 15 and mobius try to reform the tva into a positive and sylvie trying to live her new life while forgetting all her past like nothing happened even when she knows she essentially doomed all reality in the process. Heck maybe victor timely himself will have to learn that what he discover leads to a future he didint forsaw and tries to change itnbut alas doutbful it will work.
In my opinion Sylvie is right now the villain. She is responsible for human extinction and is running away to live a free selfish and comfortable life... Greetings from Germany❤
I'm so tired of the mass murder with feelings trope. This show wanna sets Loki up as a hero but actually refuses to have him face any consequences for his actions. I don't feel sorry for him, Brad should constantly bring up his dead mom because let's be real. Loki's probably killed more than a few mothers over the centuries.

I hope we get some interviews with them both once the strike is over. It felt a little like Casie's fanboying over OB was more than just acting.
Yeah, that was definitely a strong undertone of pure Ensign Rutherford in his portrayal of Casey.
I hope OB ends up signing Casey's guidebook eventually. 🤣
Wondering if that disk Sylvie took from He Who Remains is the key O.B. needs to unlock the door. Maybe it contains a copy of the temporal aura.
