Citizen soldiers isolate gave you a glimpse into my daily life with ptsd but this video by ffdp is a scarily accurate portrayal of how it all began and the immediate mindset after I got home and my world fell apart take care of the ones you love you never know when something will take them from you

As a Canadian, I’m proud to be sharing a border with a country like America.
I’ve had lots of family in the CAF and they’ve all said that there are few soldiers they’d rather serve with than the Americans.
The pride in their country and their take no shit attitude and their camaraderie with each other and their allies brings a tear to my eye.

Perfectly accurate. I do the same and carry 6 of them day and night since. To forget is to kill twice.

Got out in May of '02 almost eight months after the towers were hit. At that point troops were on the ground already although my post had yet to deploy. Over the next several years everyone I knew that remained in the service would have multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. The video shows survivor remorse for a combat vet. Know that there are some of us with remorse for getting out and having our battle buddies deploy without us as well.
Served in the army from 2010 to 2014. Lost 2 guys on my last deployment. The hardest thing I ever have to do was not bct, wasn't deploying and being away from family, but it was burying my buddies, my brother's. Survivors' guilt is real. It ate it me for years.
This is one of my favorite video from 5 finger. My son is a Sargent Major in the Special Forces. He has been in 22 years. This hits home as a Father 😢
i mainly requested this one cause travis said in the last video he couldnt imagine what it was like
PTSD by itself is bad enough but mix in Survivors guilt and you have a recipe for disaster. I know this because I live with it everyday. It took me a year to come to terms with the fact that I was broken inside. I just thank god I have the support system that I have not to mention 2 beautiful grandkids that I get to watch grow up and do good things.

The emotion in Dexter from THE OFFSPRING'S voice is more intense for me, it WAD inspired by someone close to him he watched die from Cancer

The bracelets are remembrance bracelets. It is a tradition that when you have a brother/sister in arms, that was KIA'd that they make one of these to remember them.
For a the lighter version do the original by Offspring. I am thankful for our troops everyday for our freedom.
All respect to 5FDP and making it a military tribute (they've done it well with several songs/videos) but, The Offsping's original will always be the only version of this song I care about. The original's about personal loss of a close loved one and not carrying the baggage of the military drapery, hits home. When my pop passed in Feb'08, after making sure mom was okay for the night, I walked down to the beach, sat on a dune overlooking the coast and played The Offspring's version on repeat 4, 5 maybe 6 times. That version will forever be embedded with that.
For 5FDP, like them alot. Have traveled to see them live numerous times, even got fist-bumped by Ivan at a bar after a show in Knoxville, TN. Wish they'd focus on singles off a new release being new material and not covers. Gone Away, Blue on Black, Bad Company ... c'mon

Bracelets are identifications of his friends who were KIA's They are like metal tags aka "Dog Tags" used by part military. They might be used today.

When The Offspring originally did this song, it was amazing. FFDP made it legendary. They tend to do that.
For me personally, I think FFDP's version is the best one and emits the most emotion and feeling that the song lyrics convey.
I like/ prefer the original version by THE OFFSPRING, yall like this, listen to the original. 😊
