- We sell this entire kit on E bay or visiting www.yourbmwrepair.com. This video is a Step by step instructions replacing the vent valve saving hundreds of dollars in parts cost and several hours of time. E bay item # 312689907095
This is the only video I saw on this repair for this engine! Thank you!
Hey Kursten did you try ?
Not a bad repair. Before mine even broke, I decided to convert my valve cover from the plastic one to the magnesium one found on the earliest version of the N52. It took a bit of custom work but has functioned flawlessly so far.
Great kit! Saved me hundreds of dollars! Why doesn't every dealership and shop use this??
You probably answered your own question there lol.
Im having the same problem its 100% this vent valve and i think i'll get ready to do it this way.
The thought that i even would have to spend so much money for something so stupid makes me honestly hate BMWs. As if they couldnt make it a separate replaceable element...
because then they wouldnt be able to make money off us...why u think they use plastic in the engine
08-17-2021 that was pretty damn good, thanks.
I replaced the PCV, the whistling noise gone away, but did not get rid of the lean codes. I replaced the valve cover, then no more lean codes.
What are you doing! All you have to do is cut a line in the top of the valve with a Dremel or a rotary tool, heat it with a heat gun and just pop the valve out.
Nice fix . I have a 525i n52b25 e60 08
And i see amazon has the top piece. Im wondering why there are 3 clips if they dont do anything , i have issue with pressure
Sometimes sucking sometimes blowing removing oil fill cap.
I assume its the same issue as video . Thanks for any info . Cheers
that little black fitting on the PCV valve..does a vacuum line attach there? I have a N52 2008 328i and i dont see any vacuum line attached..looks like yours doesnt have one either??
Have you considered heating up the cutting wire to score the plastic first?
gotta love heat
Goood job man
good method but takes more time and more expensive..you dont need to remove valve cover,,just dremel cap off and secure new one w some silicone whole job $20
Where do you dremel the cap? On the top? Is the original one siliconed as well or is it just the clips that retain it ?
Hi do u have any pics of what u did without taking out the valve cover
What is the P/N of the repair kit and where did you source it?
Should i seal it around that cut hole with something like silicone or its not necessary?
yes definitely and u dont need no kit just dremel or drill the cap off
Does pcv valve failure give itself to misfire or is it a misfire code failure? I am getting code p0171 and p0304. new engine optimization starting from engine oil cooler
It will give you all sorts of codes and symptoms that will not make sense
Thank you
Is that the only was to fit new top half.
Hi an where did you get the replacement value from please
Ebay
Nice job. Eventually the cover will fail. Plastic valve cover will crack within time. I would have just replaced the entire cover.
IT is not a good idea to cut IT. You can remove it much easier saving the small cover and replace it after repair. You simple need to hit it with small hammer until you make the glue loose. The glue is not elastic. No scrudrivers, just hit. Pls remember to glue it back with temperature rasistami glue > 150 deg Celsius. No supermarket cheap product…
Where's the sealant?!!!!
What! All this bullshit for a $10 replacement CCV that sells on ebay & amazon!
"pause the video" 🤣
There's a recall now for this 🤸
Really ? Does milage effect anything?
It's not remedied yet , it's going to take another year or longer
No recall on this part yet! It’s for the wiring harness, install a fuse in the box. To prevent fire 🔥 when engine is not running.
Change your oil. Motor is noisy
7:34 😂😂💪
That was painful to watch no offense, I dug a hole in the middle work my way around and in 5 mins it’s out. Without having to remove valve cover.
Yup did this as well, started from the middle with a dermal tool though which kept the base intact for the new pcv to sit on properly.
@@Rkcommuter good job
shouldnt you use some high temp silicone on the mating surfaces to ensure no leaks?
Yes, you should.
