Hey i have a question hopefully you can help
So when i opened my casing my 5 gear was off the main shaft like it fell off of the gear set
I was wondering if maybe the lower shims or washers were too low or worn that caused that or if you’ve even seen that . Made my 5 gear not engage
Felt like it was a 4 speed
No noise no nothing
Same style as this transmission
Cable small spline b series
That's weird I ve never seen that. Without it destroying the trans. You got lucky. I don't know what would cause that.
Hi I had a question. I have a b16 trans replaced 1-2 synchro (for carbon), 2nd gear, 1-2 shift gear and cup and now I’m having the problem of it not engaging the gear all the way. Hope you can help. Great content btw huge help with the rebuild
Check the shift selector make sure it's catching the shift forks correctly.
Check the shift selector to make sure it's in properly. Make sure it catches shift forks it may not be in right.
Tried to engage it just the countershaft itself. And it’s not engaging each gear like it should

Question: I didn't see any thrust washer or shims being installed on the main shaft; did you find that you needed to shim it to clear thrust?
Yes I actually did put them in the camera died and didn't know but yes they are there.
Did you happen to clearance ? Or no for stock rebuild
I didn't. I put all the shims back where they were. I probably should have I would recommend it.
Is that regular water or a cleaner

Great video but please, if you have to, just don't wash brand new parts in shallow dirty cleaner fluid.
Thanks for the input. I kinda had to wash them in dirty fluid it was late at night no stores were open Had to make do.
