    How to? Volunteer at USFS....I just got on one of the last manned towers in WA. 2019 shaping up to be a nasty fire year. I'm a lifetime woodsman and live in these mountains so that helped. Lots of wilderness experience and used to solitude. Fire watch is NOT for everybody.

    Hiked up to Los Pinos and Corte Madera a few years back with my dad who knew Norm. Great spot!

    im just curiouse where does one sign up to become a lookout and if so what training is required

      It takes alot of training and time. Sometimes up to a year or better.

      You have to look for the tower/s that you are interested in working. I have worked the San Bernardino and Cleveland National Forests in southern California. Each group has their own training requirements. FFLA might be a good place to start!

    That div sup was right on. I posted a flash card at White Point lookout in SW Oregon. It said, Whoa! That's not supposed to be there!
