Thank you for coming out and helping with this event! Getting to pull 505 and finally meet you at the same time was the highlight of my lifting career! Your videos have always got my ass up and encouraged me to keep working! Thank you for taking the time with us, it meant the world 🥹🙏!💪
awesome job, gotta keep the grind going though.... if you get the opportunity you should reach out to April Hutchison, she's a Canadian powerlifter that has weight lifting numbers even higher then Will Tennyson (of course I'm assuming you know who that is but he did do a training vid with Mitchell Hooper after the previous WSM event)
The Downs syndrome guys really give it their all. Awesome to see. You know Moose loves it, lifting helping give self esteem, goals and health to the more potentially 'disadvantaged' among us.
The most impressive person in this video is the guy standing behind all the deadlifters shouting at them. His enthusiasm for every lift is out of this world. He deserves a gold medal for this performance. 👏
I don’t think people realize a 150lb woman pulling 505 no drugs is a bigger feat of strength than a 340lb man pulling 1000lbs roided to the gills with hgh and enough test to kill a gorilla.
Dang I really wanted to come to this event, but I already had plans that day. Now that I know you were there I'm even more sorry I missed it. Great video!
American Iron Gym in Reno Nevada is having a charitable Deadlifts before Christmas event. Toys for tots. Travis Ortmayer works out here, I don't know if you know him or not.
Reduce the volume and keep your back straight At you age it's better just to do 1 set of 5 working weight every 7-10 days. That's all you need to do, No more Add 5-10 lbs if you make the lift and grind that as long as possible
awesome seeing you helping out the local scene, also cool seeing Juju there as well (curious if he ever managed to finally get the 170LB dumbbell up on grip lol)

In a world with ever growing hate and sorrow, you, sir, are indeed a beacon of hope in my life amongst some other great characters. Love will always win in the end. Life is a beautiful struggle
How much weight was on the handles for grip lift? I couldn't quite tell. Were those 25s? I think so. I only have one handle. But I know what I'm trying tomorrow!!!
I heard the Head Trainer and Cleaner at this gym called in sick on this particular day. First day missed by both. Anybody out there knows why, let me know ASAP.
I wish I could do that type of stuff right now. I can't feel half my body right now l o l. I have to have back surgery. And pretty much i'm waiting for m r I then i'm going to have surgery.
915 raw (no straps) and he isn't known to the world is something special! I couldn't tell if he had a suit underneath, but if he had one on, it wasn't the type that help a ton!

Hell of a lift!

She grinded that out. I was super impressed.
@@bigpig88lol why is there always that weak ass commenting stupid shit like that...
How can you be mentally so inherrently weak?
@@bigpig88 I guess if someone like you qualifies, then she would too. But no, that’s a woman.
I gave up deadlifting after watching that.
That's so impressive 👏
Thank you Mitchell the shout out!!!! Amazing event with even more amazing people. Can’t thank you guys enough 🙏🙏
Impressive deadlift!
That 505 was so damn impressive! Elite strength. What a battle to lock it out! Tons of heart
Mitchell, You are a great ambassador for WSM. You and Martins are examples of what a champion should be
One of the things that’s drawn me to strength sports recently is that positive atmosphere
Love these local competition videos. Great job!
The Downs syndrome guys really give it their all. Awesome to see. You know Moose loves it, lifting helping give self esteem, goals and health to the more potentially 'disadvantaged' among us.
That guy was FEAKING AWESOME!
A fucking INSPIRATION!
Great to see, those folks can be very strong, but they often struggle to convey their power to lifting
This moved me seeing how pumped you were for the people competing
The most impressive person in this video is the guy standing behind all the deadlifters shouting at them. His enthusiasm for every lift is out of this world. He deserves a gold medal for this performance. 👏
I would be nervous, this is like Jon Jones watching your bar fight and critiquing it. Lol
Look at the energy in that room, best enviroment on the planet to PR. How cool to find Juji and The Moose at the compitition!!!
That 505 was crazy, super impressive.
Dang, what a great show! Oh, and congrats on your WSM win!
Looked like an awesome day/event and some amazing lifts

The first few men that done there lifts was amazing, full credit to them
Great watching from Western Australia 🇦🇺 🙏🏻
i love that you go to things like this. those weights were insane!
Seeing these local comps is great. Please keep going!
That 505 was an absolute grind.
Thanks for that Mitch or should I say SMOE! That was very entertaining.
Shoulda put ft Jujimufu and put him in the hash tags for the algo
On another note, that 505lbs pull was savagely impressive
Happiest community in the world i guess. What a bonding ❤
That looked super cool! Great vid!
Come out to Canadian Strongman Nationals in Winnipeg!
Nice content, thanks.
The way some of these guys pull hurts my back just watching 😂
Come to South Shore Iron "Anniversary Bash" powerlifting compétition on November 5th ... Montreal if your interested
American Iron Gym in Reno Nevada is having a charitable Deadlifts before Christmas event. Toys for tots. Travis Ortmayer works out here, I don't know if you know him or not.
I have trained my deadlifts a lot lately. Got a 300 pound PR at 14. Feels good man

Add 5-10 lbs if you make the lift and grind that as long as possible
You have no clue how he trains?
915 is insane, still trying to get to 405
My back hurts with phantom pain watching these fantastic lifts.
Awesome! I can feel it just watching!
anyone else absolutely shocked by some of those women?? like this was a local comp. jeesh
Really cool to see regular people pulling maxes while others cheer! Lift heavy, be kind!
awesome seeing you helping out the local scene, also cool seeing Juju there as well (curious if he ever managed to finally get the 170LB dumbbell up on grip lol)
THIS WAS SIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!!! Mr. Moose you’re the only Canadian I’ll proudly root for😂😂😘
💪💪
Him and jf Caron. Also maixme Boudreau.
Come to apex barbell in burlington December 9th. I'll be competing for the first time. Though you can probably deadlift my total 😬😬😬
I was always a bench guy but I love small local events!
amazing video!
The amout of arched backs is insane props to them for lifting because I cant lift my anvil that weights les than 100lbs at 125BW
The girl that did 505 holy crap!!!!! Beast modeeeeee
She competes at ipf .she's no joke
I would very much like to know the title and band for the song, Please...
Dude that was great to see....
Mitch you’ve got to do a circuit hommeforts show next year, would be great to see you at North Americas strongest man or Canadas strongest man
Hey Mitchell, have you ever participated in the "heavy" events at a Highland Games?
Damn, you’re local yet like a shadow….

Impressive on all athletes
Great show 💪💪
I’d love to go to one of these might be able to pull 600 with all that support
That looked like a lot of fun.

Great to see the Special Olympians !!!!
Not Olympians, the clue is "Local Competition"
@@anyexpat okay well @ 7:09. Look again bud.
@@samuelclemons508 Do you think you are watching the Special Olympics? Seem like you might qualify.
Would be a absolute dream to see you Mitch at a local show I’m at. 😢
415kg with No straps??? Thats insane

That raised platform would throw me off big time tbh
Yes sir I'm still going for the 405
In a world with ever growing hate and sorrow, you, sir, are indeed a beacon of hope in my life amongst some other great characters. Love will always win in the end. Life is a beautiful struggle
i cant lie, them guys are strong for sure, but its a hard watch with those backs like that :/ ... 505# was nuts!
LHBK!
1:10 was definitely not 255lbs
55x 4 plus 45 x 2 plus the bar 355
some of these lbs/kgs are wrong or am I just trippin , lifts 157kg but fails on 115kg ???
🦌👍Need more gym's like this
I would lose it if I saw you at a comp
awesome
That woman doing 230kg at what looks like 75kg BW is insane. Even more impressive she can grip that kind of weight without straps.
How much weight was on the handles for grip lift? I couldn't quite tell. Were those 25s? I think so. I only have one handle. But I know what I'm trying tomorrow!!!
Love showing people with disabilities lifting and everyone going wild for them
I heard the Head Trainer and Cleaner at this gym called in sick on this particular day.

The blondie at 1:08 was pulling 165kg not 115kg
dope event
Lower back injuries waiting to happen for some there :
7:43 RIP spine lol. Scared cat technique.
915 unequipped? My goodness
Yeah idk how anyone can lift that with no straps
@@aeis3007You ever grow up with old school farm kids that had to pick potatoes all day? Their grip strength is unbelievable lol
@@evictioncarpentry2628
I'm 60, from north east PA. Two types you never underestimate on strength. Farmers and coal miners.
@@evictioncarpentry2628 Weirdly enough I've worked on a few farms. I thought I was pretty strong before that. I was wrong.

Juji , AV and Moose... I want to see more of that! It would be nice to see the Moose on Antoine's podcast.
We have more content on the way 👀
@@mitchellhooperstrongman awesome!

No sumo, you love to see it!
That grip competition, where can I find the equipment? It sure looks easier than it is, so I want to try. Probably hard af.
Look up grip genie, I believe this was rolling grip thing
Damn my PR is 220kg. I tried 225kg the other day and failed. I'm a 6ft, 270lb 51 year old male and then I see this 160lb girl lift 230kg. FML.
Where was this??
Holy crap, congrats to the woman @1:55 that was some pull
Damn that slim girl lifted 230kg! That's my PR from my 20s and I'm a 51 year old 6ft 265lbs man whose current max is 220kg. She's impressive.
7:30 lol
I didn't see Julius Maddox who benches 783 raw.
Will we ever see mitch pull the sacred 505kg for the record?
🎉
