    this is a great collab and really makes you appreciate how hard yokes are. I assumed it wasn't as hard just from knowing what walking out a heavy squat feels like, but seeing Greg and knowing how strong he is puts into perspective how hard the WSM level weights rly are.

    I see some.... questionable videos/advice from Greg, and am not necessarily a fan of his, but I absolutely have to give him the respect he deserves for trying this (admittedly weird af) movement publicly on youtube. EVERYONE looks like an idiot when they first try yoke, and it's humbling. He picked it up quickly, and had a great attitude even when he was struggling. Love to see it, and respect to him.

    Interesting seeing hoop start with such a wide stance, obviously i am not a pro strong man but instinctually I would think to start with a narrower stance I would imagine its less side to side movement when you start walking.

    • @a-a-rondavis9438
      @a-a-rondavis9438 Рік тому

      Mateusz does a narrow stance where he walks straight through his pick-up. Funny enough, probably the two most elite yoke runners right now, Hooper and Evan Singleton, both have wide pick-ups and narrow running.

    Thanks for the videos Brother! I greatly appreciate your insight and sharing of techniques, especially when you previously broke down that you don't have to do 10k calories a day and so forth! My weight has always maintained right around 230-240, maybe I could push the envelope another 20 or 30 pounds, but I def won't be killing myself trying to overeat when much is still to be gained strength wise at my present weight.

    I woul like to ask a general question to the community:
    Any thoughts why the recent WSM are so "small"?
    Mitch is insanely strong but relatively light.
    There was the time of Shawn, Hall, Björnson, Big Z... with the winners always having a bw of near 200kg.
    Since 2019 a lot of "light" athlets are winning or in the top 3.
    Stoltmans are still heavy but not close to 200.

    More speed related events in the competition?

    I’m thinking the yoke was harder for them because of the crossbar being upside down. I ran my old yoke couple times like that. And it allows the uprights to bounce in and out( left and right) since the part of the cross bar that usually sleeves the upright are not stabilizing them down towards the bottom where the weight is , either way freakish yoke carry!
