somuchmusic19 basically you make the tracks and group them correctly BEFORE adding any takes. THEN you add the first drum take. THEN create a new take alternative. Then add the next drum take. Repeat until you are done. Then comp as needed. Hope that helps.
You could comp each instrument individually. Or you could group all the tracks as one group and make sure that editing and track alternatives is checked. Kinda like I did with the drums but will all the tracks. But I would recommend comping each instrument individually especially if they were recording to a click track. make sense?
