Modestas Stapulionis it's hard to not side with Activision on this. They spent decades in man-hours with content that never saw the light of day, it's a complete messy waste, which screams mismanagement on all levels. Same thing happened in SC:Nova, Titan, D4... It's endemic inside their HQ in Irvine, they don't have that many resources to burn through now anymore as they had at the time their sub numbers were over 12million. It's sad, really.
WoD was before all that, it was fundamentally where they saw the biggest drop in subs, they lost so much that they stopped being public with subs. They did waste alot and there was really no reason in my eyes to scrap the content they clearly put a lot of time and effort into, better the iron it out then to change gears to something else entirely, i feel like it was activision trying to exert some development control early on by effectively wasting time and effort by telling them to scrap certain ideas in order to "minimize resources" ignoring the amount already spent, which kind of screwed the dev team over as they now scrambled to start new projects and finish them in time for the expansion. Its clear for some of the ideas the design team decided, this would be the direction of development and they put forth the effort only for someone clearly above them telling them "no, i don't like that do this instead" which personally would only be something activision would pull since their end goal is not the overall success or making the game awesome but keep milking the fan base with as little effort as possible and throwing wrenches into blizzard's gears so they mess up letting them exert more control "because they are causing them to lose money" its pretty standard for big companies like activision to not care for the games just about the money made and something like WoW which already makes alot of money and would continue to do so they can't leave it be, instead its a question of "how can we make more?" and thats by taking complete control so they can monetize it as they see fit and swindle fans using the blizzard name, like adding BO 4 and destiny to the battlenet app was a clear ploy to expand their market by tapping into blizzard fans won't be too soon before blizzcon features activision games. I digressed abit but the content they cut would of vastly improve the expansion and it was clear with the progress made that they intended to use it just someone threw a wrench in the plans most likely someone not involved with the actual design team or development team since you don't work on projects to that degree without at least a green light from a lead its far beyond simple concept as its clearly was in the development stages, and for the most part Blizzard head would probably not see a reason to halt progress but instead it was when they were updating the activison heads on progress and development that they took the plans and started putting X's over certain projects "trimming the fat" so to speak telling them to make things simpler or nuke it entirely.
It's easy to blame Activision, but WoW has been a game that's had content cut since vanilla. There are devs at Blizzard that have worked on projects for many years that will never see the light of day.
It was a great raid, not that much annoying on farm actually, I quite enjoyed it. Yes, but if you followed her backstory as closely as I have, you'd know she was a major character in the original Gul'Dan storyline, and her participation in the WOD storyline could have led to the return of Medivh, as well as her supposed son, Med'an. Too bad too, WoW could have gotten back to its story-based roots.

so many people had been complaining about how long Siege of Orgrimmar lasted. Everyone knew it was the last raid tier of Mists of Pandaria and were waiting for the next expansion, constantly asking Blizzard when it was coming out. While Activision-Blizzard management likely played a roll in the cutting of content to save time, this was likely more to do with when players expected to see the expansion/new content rather than penny pinching by Activision-Blizzard.
I am really sad to see rushed content in WoW. it never feels good and always comes up a bit short. if we keep following this trend then we might see BFA having the same treatment so the next expansion will be a good one

Instead, a simple orc one-shot a dragon and that was the story. That felt like a write-off story arc. It really felt like the expansion could have been so much more, and like it was going to be more, which is why i loved it. Disappointing as it was at the end, legion was nothing but world quests until you unsubscribe, with no story worth retelling, and ap grinding. I never once felt during legion that it was going to get better until argus was added, and that was just 3 new provinces to grind world quests in, a very big letdown. And then bfa... They took the worst parts of legion, recycled them, and added absolutely nothing of interest. Bfa has left me telling old friends not to waste their money, whereas before i have always tried to get old ex players to come back to the game.
Now if they would just release a expansion with out cutting any content. Fuck what harm can it do, the game is slowly turning to shit anyways. It couldn't hurt it anymore.
I don't fucking understand these publishers. They get a huge subscribers decline, they receive negative reputation and YET STILL they keep on rushing games. What kind of fucked up business model is that? Rush the game to get instant income and ruin your reputation vs don't rush it and make more money in long term.

Ive been enjoying BFA but then again i haven't really played semi seriously since wotlk
Typical Blizzard. Take out all the cool stuff and just leave the mediocre.
12:16 really and how did wotlk able to work?
Now if they would just release a expansion with out cutting any content. Fuck what harm can it do, the game is slowly turning to shit anyways. It couldn't hurt it anymore.
What happened to Haven Games?
The part of the thumbnail is at 8:55
I don't fucking understand these publishers. They get a huge subscribers decline, they receive negative reputation and YET STILL they keep on rushing games. What kind of fucked up business model is that? Rush the game to get instant income and ruin your reputation vs don't rush it and make more money in long term.
cut this cut that.. remember when blizzard was about "its done when its done"? good times, too bad its long gone
no amount of new content would make it better for me, the class design is what ruined the game for me.
It's a Shame of Draenor.
It's sad to see.
Two orc raids being redundant? The whole fucking expansion was orc themed. Blizz has no integrity left, if ever.
Fields of Farahlon...
Wait? Asmon does have Gorehowl?
quest bugs for mandatory content, loooong time to wait talador and flying and garrison building, insane amount of followers and short missions. Left WoD and now 10x 120lvl + 15 100-110lvl from those 0 has ever visited talador and will stay like that. WoD was worst.
like what the fuck were they doing with that 13 months they had during SoO, also its not like they weren't working on it even before that. the fuck was this small indie company doing.
WSnt hellfire our for about a year or maybe even over a year? But they didn’t have time?? Lmaooo
WOW I LIKE wOd BUT SEEING THIS MAKES ME NOT LIKE IT CAUSE ALL THE STUFF WAS GOOD THEY CUT OUT IM SO SAD :( IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH BETTER ... this is why u dont release till everything is done cause it was boring alot of times but i still liked it
No wonder WOD was chaos and sucked...
It's sad that could have been the best xpack. I had hope for it..oh well
WOD desperately needed a timeless isle type island. I mean wow,,, MOP had so much great content, and then you look at WOD and all the 'time constraints'.... i mean its stupid. I remember enjoying MOP and thinking fuck you WOD dont come out for another year. A lot of people felt that way, and knowing that Blizz themselves prolly wouldn't have minded that happening so WOD would've been complete pisses me off that much more. WOD is when I quit , until Classic.
no! fuck that! timelimit my ass, games should be crafted with passion and the time it takes. I hate these call of duty scheduals
Many of what could have been an amazing expansion or game in general ended up having to much content and wonderful ideas scrapped and changed because someone wanted something different. KH3 is proof of good changes and cut content for the fans. Destiny is proof of the terrible changes and cutting of content that almost destroyed it
This vid leaves me feeling uncontented.
BFA is bad, but warlords was unbearable.
tl:dr WoD could have been the best expansion, but somehow this small indie company ran out of time
WoD pruned my friends
There are still idiots who's thinking Activision is the only thing to blame lol
It's so sad what WoW has become
Yknow what I mean?
Yeah-maybe
WoD could have been good....
Please react to Hydra 7! :)
ghostcrawler said that WOD was his magnum opus OMEGALUL
It could've been, given the cut content.
Its sad... The cutted content would turn it into an actually good expansion... Except for mutlistrike this was just GARBAGE JUST LIKE THIS WHOLE EXPANSION WE GOT
All that was cut thanks to community was crying and said it’s the worst expansion ever made and blizzard lost a lot of sups and blizzard had to cut that shit and make a new expansion to save wow so don’t be surprised don’t forgot it’s all about you players . That’s a fact
