My moms house is surrounded by state land woods and my friends and I would regularly walk through them. Night or day it sounded quite similar to this. The leaves rustling, sticks snapping in the distance by creatures unseen, and the wind blowing between the hills carrying sounds from the distance and small creeks flowing. It was always quite the experience. Borderline creepy and calm. Scary and serenity. This is central NY by the way
@memorialsquad I was recently hiking in the Alsatian mountains, alone (dumb, I know) and not wearing proper hiking shoes. I had come from a nice party and we were checking out some old medieval castles along the mountain peaks and I was in these nice suede shoes with flat, un-textured soles. I went uphill behind the castle. The voices of some school kids on a field trip and the general chatter of my friends dissipated in the background. One rocky bluff later and I was on my own. I heard nothing but the wind and the leaves. I continued across a patch of mossy rocks, following the crest of the mountain, until I reached a drop. It was a sheer rock face about 25 feet high. No easy way down. I started to head down the slope I was on to the left. If I could get to the base of this gorge I could cross, and then wind back up. Holding these mossy rocks and the pliant branches of pines as I descended, the soggy autumn leaves that coated the earth proved too slick. My flat-soled shoes slipped and I fell. I didn't get hurt thankfully, but it pulled my shirt and jacked up and over my head partially, exposing my chest. It was 40ish degrees out and this was a shivering reminder. This area wasn't on the map. I didn't hear anyone, didn't see any sign of civilization, and being out in rural France my American phone was struggling to pick up any signal. I knew I tumbled down to my left, which was South...right? I started walking and finally thought I'd found the castle, but instead learned, disappointingly, that it was just a stand-alone segment of old castle wall. Here's the thing--it was a different stone material entirely from the rest of the castle we were visiting. Was this even the same castle? I then heard a "wooooooo" not that far from me. It was like...right/straight-ish from my position. It was unearthly. Not like an animal or creature howl. It was something bone-chilling. The archways in the ruined castle wall were way too big to channel sound like that, and the wind wasn't all that strong. So like an idiot I decided to investigate. I'm not a believer in anything superstitious, but I had no idea what could cause that sound. It wasn't long before I realized I was shivering again, but this time it wasn't really the cold. It was adrenaline or something. "Woooooo" and then a pause, before a longer "shhhhhhhhhhhhh". The more I searched the more I couldn't find the source. The trees all around me felt like they leaned in on me. Many had barren branches and that just made them feel skeletal and sharp. I noticed that there was a serious lack of...life. I didn't hear birds chirping. I didn't hear insects. I didn't hear any scamper of mammals. It was cold out, and I was the only foolish thing deciding to make an adventure out of it. "Wooooo" ...."shhhhhhhhhh" almost like something primordial inhaling, and then slowly exhaling. I nearly fell again, this time off a heavily-obscured rocky ledge. The dead leaves seemed to go on forever, and I realized it was a drop. That's when it got louder. I stopped at the ledge, and scurried downhill and around once more. Nearly losing my footing again, I found it. In the side of the rocky face I nearly walked off of, there was a cave entrance. So of course I investigate. I'm 6'5". It would be hard for me to squeeze into this entrance, but I want to do it anyway. I start examining the entrance and I shine the flashlight on my phone into it. It's claustrophobic, but the cave bends out of sight and goes down, almost like it plunges into the mountain. A foul draft blew out of the cave. "Woooooooooo"......and then the slow "shhhhhhhhhh". Something felt supremely wrong about this place. I paced around like the "Can you hear me now?" guy from TV, checking my mobile bars, until finally I got enough to whip open Google Maps and plot my way back to the castle. I came back the next morning while my hungover friends slept in, and I took a video of the place. It's "Skyrim IRL #3" on my channel. There was almost no wind at all that day so you can't hear much other than my footsteps, but that's the place. Point is--I found a forest that DID sound a bit like this. It was indeed terrifying. I don't know why I went back, and I still don't have the balls to contort myself and squeeze into that mysterious cave.

I am a little world made cunningly Of elements, and an angelic sprite; But black sin hath betray'd to endless night My world's both parts, and, O, both parts must die. You which beyond that heaven which was most high Have found new spheres, and of new land can write, Pour new seas in mine that so I might Drown my world with my weeping earnestly, Or wash it if it must be drown'd no more. But O, it must be burnt; alas! the fire Of lust and envy burnt it heretofore, And made it fouler; let their flames retire, And burn me, O Lord, with a fiery zeal Of Thee and Thy house, which doth in eating heal.
If one were to do this on acid while down there in the dark listening to this. You’d probably actually see yourself surrounded by crawling Lovecraftian horrors.

@@jmitterii2 What exactly, is an “abandoned” cemetery? 🤔I’ve always wondered how a cemetery could be abandoned. However, if it were abandoned, would it still be a cemetery or just a bit of earth with several deep empty holes?

A shaky hand held the bright lantern as she gracefully moved through the darkness. The moon was high and bright and it helped to see her path. I never should have stayed so late at that damn tavern! The town I live in in so big and busy there are always people and here I am finally alone with no one to bother me. In a few more minutes she made it home safely and locked the door and went to bed. The end.
I find it relaxing and can't help wondering: am I normal ?! I grew up in my grandparents' house, so owls, barking dogs and forest sounds are something I'm used to hear all night when sleeping. The truth is, no matter how many ghost stories I listen to, if I'd walk through this forest during the day, I'd still look behind me for some serial killer, not a ghost. The living ones are way much scarier🤯🤯

They’ve been harmless so far. Wonder what happens if you get near them?

I am a little world made cunningly Of elements, and an angelic sprite; But black sin hath betray'd to endless night My world's both parts, and, O, both parts must die. You which beyond that heaven which was most high Have found new spheres, and of new land can write, Pour new seas in mine that so I might
Drown my world with my weeping earnestly,
Or wash it if it must be drown'd no more.
But O, it must be burnt; alas! the fire
Of lust and envy burnt it heretofore,
And made it fouler; let their flames retire,
And burn me, O Lord, with a fiery zeal
Of Thee and Thy house, which doth in eating heal.
I find this sooooo soothing.
I'm happy to see that there are other people out there who find comfort in stuff like this.
Yeah, I don't know why this is kinda soothing.
It's over a year now that I have been using this to sleep. It's just peaceful and unknown. Love it. Thank you

I like to listen to this on my headphones, head down into my pitch-dark basement, and wait for the monsters.
The monsters are probably afraid of the massive balls you have
Respect
If one were to do this on acid while down there in the dark listening to this. You’d probably actually see yourself surrounded by crawling Lovecraftian horrors.
Nice hobby you have there😐
I listen to these with headphones🎧 and read books 😄😄

It would take a heavy pair of balls to play this with headphones and walk through the woods at night
Luis Espinoza i am so going to try this 😂
Or go through an old particularly abandoned cemetery.
I know a few, I've walked through at night around here.
I would love to have a loud speaker, and catch some unsuspecting others coming up for a creepy stroll and play this to creep'em out ;)~
hahahahha....yes......
@@jmitterii2 What exactly, is an “abandoned” cemetery? 🤔I’ve always wondered how a cemetery could be abandoned. However, if it were abandoned, would it still be a cemetery or just a bit of earth with several deep empty holes?
Well I don't have balls but I do listen to this while walking in the woods at night sooo lmao

A shaky hand held the bright lantern as she gracefully moved through the darkness. The moon was high and bright and it helped to see her path. I never should have stayed so late at that damn tavern! Julia thought. I shouldn't have gone out, I should have slept there... But in a sense it was calming. The town I live in in so big and busy there are always people and here I am finally alone with no one to bother me. In a few more minutes she made it home safely and locked the door and went to bed. The end.
What happens next in the morning?

Me: peacefully listening to this while writing
also me: starts getting paranoid when a leaf rustles outside my room
I find it relaxing and can't help wondering: am I normal ?! I grew up in my grandparents' house, so owls, barking dogs and forest sounds are something I'm used to hear all night when sleeping. The truth is, no matter how many ghost stories I listen to, if I'd walk through this forest during the day, I'd still look behind me for some serial killer, not a ghost. The living ones are way much scarier🤯🤯
Can't wait for the new winter scenes great work thank you

Whats that star for?
Get off my lawn!
I'm Scottish and have said this for you

I love that the video is exactly one hour long. I can imagine someone standing there recording this and being like, “alright, all I have to get is one hour. When it hits one hour, I’m leaving this joint!” But same, I’d be counting down.
On Christmas Eve, all my siblings sleep in the same room.... My little brother was annoying so I put this on so he could leave and..... His reaction was priceless. He left the room screaming and ended up peeing himself....

Can you imagine walking down an abandoned road when the sun is setting and hearing the wind make this noise? Awesome!
This puts me right to sleep every night. I had no idea how much I'd love these types of videos, they are amazing on my big screen tv in a dark room with a candle flickering.
This is peaceful… but also dreary.
Imagine living in a warm, furnished cabin in the middle of this place. Nothing can hurt you while you’re inside but everytime you look out - you see aimless, disembodied spirits wander around like drifting clouds. From tree to tree. Looking for something.
They’ve been harmless so far. Wonder what happens if you get near them?
I wish you had released this one day earlier, omg. Also, just starting it gives me all the right kind of vibes and feels. You are awesome and amazing for this. ... I cant wait to listen to all of it.
I've come back every October since 2018 to listen to this while I work!
I don't know why, but I like to sleep with this sounds, am I crazy?

Emil EhmedliVEVO no. Just possessed

I never knew that being haunted is so tranquil and beautiful.
As a tinnitus sufferer, I have moved on from my central air unit to ambient sound. I give this one an A+ on cool factor, and a F for sleeping use.
It works great for me.

This is so dang good. I really like to listen to the sounds of totally different places. There's nothing like walking around haunted areas and hear the sounds of the dead.
This is strangely comforting and nostalgic for me because I used to play a lot of "creepy" hidden object games as a kid and they had ambience like this in the background. Takes me back. Great video; thanks for posting. :]
When you realize that in a parrallel dimension, this place is very lively
I'd love to see a point-and-click adventure game like Myst taking place in these worlds you imagine.
That would be PERFECT! 😃
Whoa, that would be so cool!
This was AWESOME. I’m currently writing a short horror story for school and the sounds you included for Perfectly. It helps me imagine what the characters are hearing so I can make it just as real for the reader. Thank you!
Absolutely amazing! Like I said on Patreon, perfect for Halloween or just some creepy vibes during creepy games ♥ Thank you!
I listened to this next to my open window listening to the rain and ear-splitting thunder, it sounded so eerie, but strangely tranquil and gave me tingly spine shivers. So, I really have to thank you for this.
