    Thank you so much for this video. I was able to fix and replace the tube by myself. It took me longer but I did it! I'm so proud of myself. I honestly didn't think I could do it because of my arthritis fingers but I did it!

    Very good video! I will make one suggestion: ALWAYS place small removed items (nuts, valve stems) in a convienent container (box,bowl,bag). Small expensive pieces love to bounce to dark corners especially when you are frustrated. Yes I know an additional step is not pleasant, but replacing a critical lost piece will result in lost time during purchase at the bike shop.

    Thank you for the tutorial! I've been unable to use my bike for a while now because I got a flat and I've been putting off fixing it because I didn't know how to, today I decided I would, and it took me an hour but I managed to get it done following these steps! Thank you again

    I installed the screw-on stem nut (from step 5) at this point. I discovered it helps keep the valve stem from going crooked while you seat the rest of the tire.

    Hey to Calvin.
    Question:
    Do you recommend or use a product like Mr. Tuffy Bicycle Tire Liner ?

    • @type17
      @type17 3 роки тому +1

      Calvin's mileage may vary, but I've noticed that the edge of products like these can wear a line into the inner tube over time, eventually causing a pinhole flat in the tube. These days, tires with built-in protection are more common, and are a better solution.

    I've ridden my current bicycle 20,000 miles. In my experience, in most instances, you will need to patch the tire as well as the inner tube.

    • @marap4760
      @marap4760 4 роки тому

      After 20K miles, you should probably replace the tires because of wear. My bike tire manufacturer rates the tires I bought from them to last about 1,500 to 3000 miles, depending on road condition, inflation pressure, how hot the road is etc.

    I bought a 26 inch double wall rim of specs being for 2.125 tire but the tires I have now is a 2.25 along with the tube. Is it ok to use this size on my DW Rim? I already put tire on with tube but put bike upside down to ensure if Im wrong of size the tire wont blow up on me. I put another tube but the tube was a patched up and it popped 20 hours later besides the tube was meant for 27 inch. Is it ok to use this size 2.25 on DW Rim of the specs stating 2.125?

    • @parktool
      @parktool  2 роки тому

      A 2.25 tire will fit perfectly fine onto a rim that called for a 2.125 width. The rim diameter is the same. The clearance in the bikes frame is the only thing to watch out for. The tubes should be. compatible going that way as well. If trying to run the tubes run in a 2.25 tire in a 2.125 tire may be a challenge as they may be a tight fit.

    I will NEVER take advice from the internet AGAIN; these ppl don't know what they're saying! I tried learning how to fix a bike wheel from one of these last year, and not only failed, but the damn thing is collecting rust!! 😡😡 And, recently I looked up how to dry wet carpet (literal carpet) and was told to sprinkle baking soda on it, then use a vacuum cleaner. Now, I have a ruined, WET floor and a broken vacuum!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
    I advise, DO NOT LISTEN TO THESE F****ERS; either find a professional or just buy a replacement.
