I enjoy these posts about using up scraps. I’d love to see one on how to store and catalog those bits and pieces we want to hang on to for repairs and such.
I do have a video about that… ua-cam.com/video/Ug6P5UGqwJE/v-deo.htmlsi=R4qcaxntKUEwahui And there’s a couple more, I think the end of this one will suggest the next one. Happy knitting 🧶
I’m in a group knitting for prem babies and they are always looking for bonding squares which are great for using up part balls. I’ve also made a craftie friend who is buying my partials from me to make pom-poms with that she turns into wreathes etc,
I recently got a few random balls of yarn from a friend and have been looking for something to do with them. Thank you for the ideas, I'm hoping to try to make a bookmark or coaster with a new stitch I'm learning for a bit of extra practice!
Hi Tansley, I do have some kits in the shop, shop.knitwithhannah.co.uk/knitting-kits/christmas-tree-teatime-mats-knitting-kit And I’m sure I’ll be creating more as time goes by.
Ok I just started knitting this week, i have a few random balls of yarn from craft projects. How do I know what kind of item i have enough yarn to knit. Like is there a size estimate like a baseball size yarn ball makes a pair of socks or something like that?
It can be difficult to tell because different thicknesses of yarn will have different lengths on each ball, and the weights of the fibres can confuse the issues as well. So start small, you'll get a feel for it. Knit up some bookmarks and coasters, and be willing to change colour halfway if necessary. Once you've done enough knitting to read patterns you'll have a better idea yourself, and you'll have the designers guiding you as well. Happy knitting 😍
