I always do noodles first without packet then when noodles are done drain them mostly leave a lil water left in er then start to add packet WHILE stirring
Noodles get cooked first then once it’s cooked I transfer to a bowl take some of the starch water out add the seasoning and add the starch water back for optimal spice.
I always put the noodles first, I find that if you put the seasoning package first, the flavor doesn't stick on the noodles as much as if you do it after.
I've watched a few of your videos after seeing your kimchi jjigae short. I love that dish and was looking for alternate recipes, yours is the best of the best I've found ( I add jalapeños though because I also love spicy ) On to the ramen layering question. I layer chopped green onion, baby spinach and noodles. Then add packet and pour boiling water over and cover for about 5 minutes, then add fresh cracked black pepper. My preferred ramen though is mamas spicy pork, it's always sold out around these parts while others sit on the shelf, so I know I'm not the only one.
I put the seasoning first because i want to shock the noodles with already flavoured water and I use lesser water to intensify the flavour. I cook the noodles for 3 mins on high heat, and then turn off the heat and let the residual heat continue cooking it, even after putting it in the bowl because I like them noodles chewy. With the egg, I make sure I don't break the yolk into the soup because it changes the flavour profile, so make sure the yolk stays intact while in the soup !
This isn't my account its my son's mothers lol but growing up poor and with strict utilities and someone who didn't like to do dishes, I would always add my seasoning packet to my bowl before pouring the noodles in first then the right amount of water you like, after I could just rinse my pan and use later, father than having to fully wash the oils and other stuff out of it
You are a lifesaver and a master. Thank you for this, I’ve been making it every other night with either a fried egg or a soft boiled egg. Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you so much for this. I work remotely and this is such an easy lunch to whip up. I’ve done it a few times now and I have added some cooked chicken on hand, and fresh green onion. I add Zhejiang black vinegar while eating. Only thing I wish I had was some pickled daikon to go with it. So good.
Always noodles first! I've been making your fried rice ramen recipe for a while now, I'm addicted. My regular ramen: -Minced garlic -Sriracha -Lemon juice -Soy sauce I also let the noodles breathe! it changes the consistency.
I Don't use multiple msg poison packet. And yes noodles first, AL DENTE OR D!E-then rinse off starch and boil new water. Use real seasoning, onion powder aromatics dark and light soy sauce to make minimal soup. Finish with a fresh herb. WHAT THE CHEMICAL COMPANIES DONT WANT YOU TO KNOW! A 12 pack of real, plain ramen egg noodles with just 2 or 3 ingredients, is about $3 in China town grocery stores.
Boil the water, once boil, drop in the season, and then the noodles. Don't break up the noodles. After you drop the noodles, crack 2 eggs and drop it in. If you have kimchi, add in some kimchi about 1 minute prior to ramen being done. The eggs...I like them to cook whole so dont "break up the egg" when you put it in.
I go with noodles first and next with the seasoning..i have tried your method by adding garlic.chilli flakes, and pepper in vegetarian ramen its was delicious😋😋😋
Noodles First! Aldente then add season packet and boil for 30sec. Add pepper and sometimes I add cheese and stir till melted. Lots of PEPPER THOUGH. I am same has to be hot. Will have to put egg in!! What exactly is kim chi?
The best way to make instant ramen is to put the flavour bases straight into the bowl and pour clean hot water over it, just like they would at a ramen shop, then put the cooked noodles in the bowl, then toppings.
If you read the instructions on the package it's noodles first. That's how the company makes it, that's how you should make it to get the flavour they went for.
Yo chef Chris door recipe! I looked through a bunch of your vids, little feedback because I saw you were looking to see what was a hit in your travel vlog, I LOVE these type of recipe vids in the kitchen, especially if it doesn’t require super hard to find ingredients or special tools, good music and great lighting, reminds me of “Master of none”.
Just found your channel and I am so happy. Living in the middle of the US it is hard to find Asian ingredients. My Thai wife just likes Thai food but this gives me so many more options cooking for her. Thanks so much
I’m an abomination. I put the noodle in the pot, soup base on top, then water. When it begins to boil I add my egg so by the time the ramen is ready the egg is cooked. Imma have to add all that bc it looks DELICIOUS
I don't even add the flavor packet with the noodles. I let them cook, and I add the flavor with the other ingredients into a bowl, egg included. Mix them all up. once the noodles are cooked, I'll add them into the bowl and and poor some of the boiling water in with them and let them simmer for a bit. Throw some mayo in it and its bomb.
I did this with 1 egg a brick of nissin noodles with half the chicken seasoning packet 1 clove garlic and added black pepper to taste...was yummy and creamy and didn't put too much water so was nice and thick..I don't like spicy so this came out really good will make again
l put the seasoning and veggie packs 1st then sometimes add fresh veggies like carrot, thick cut cucumber then add the noodles and just when it be almost done l add the egg then pour the ramyun over bite sized pieces of raw beef
I usually break the noodles in the package, put them into a bowl, add the soup/spice powder and then pour boiling water of it (I'm using a water heater because I'm too lazy to use the stove), but I want to try that method were you just boil the noodles, pour off the water and then add the soup powder. I imagine this to be quite salty though, as all that salty powder isn't distributed in water.
noodle first gang that’s how we get these gains😤😤😤
YAAAAA MEAAAAN
I swear noodles at night hit different
I love how he didn't just how us how to make it and say its good. He is tearing it up. Because its awesome. Now I'm hungry!
Hope you had some to eattt

Worse when you have ramen that's 1 year past the date. I'm just gonna assume the dry ramen itself won't kill me (:

I thought this was Way of Ramen for a second... That's the exact same background music lol
personally, I think people who put the seasoning in first, put milk before cereal and are left handed

never thought about an egg. don't like eggs but i like egg flower soup.
I empty the seasoning packet in the water first, stir it, then the noodles.
Soup first just cus i feel like the noodles have more time to soak in the flavor

I cook the ramen noodles and soup separate because I don't like the starch from the noodles into my soup I let the egg yolk thicken the soup.
Asian guy trying so hard to sound ghetto....soup base first. Noodles chewy not mushy. Then add what ever meat, greens etc. you like
