    I think my cat has gone too far with catnip already, he just lays on his bed listening to bob Marley's all day. He grows his own now and deals to the other cats on the block, I've even caught him smoking crack with the local squirrels, catnip is a gateway drug kids. Gotta split, Noodle 's trying to squeeze a sixpack and some stray through the cat flap.

    My cat won’t touch the dry stuff. I honestly was convinced that he didn’t like catnip until a friend let us take some fresh catnip home from her garden. when I got home I had long forgotten it was still in my pocket. I was laying on my bed engaged into a ted talk video on my phone when Tang started acting nuts. He was being unusually needy and I kept wondering in the back of my head (why does my cat keep scratching at my leg next thing you know he was really on my leg desperately clawing my pockets… it dawned on me and when I finally pulled the catnip out he was Lunging for it. Lol i had never seen him act this way he was rolling around purring extra loudly and eating the leaves. 😂

      They only need to be watered once or twice a week, and when you do water them, you soak them, let drain and sit in drainage plate for about 10min then remove the water+drainage plate.
      These plants do not like a lot of watering until full maturity. Then depending on size and if potted or not only need to be watered 2/3 a week.

    • @wetnosespetsitting

      Hi Briston! It depends on whether you dry your plants or not. My cats just eat the leaves and stem off the live plants. If you dry them you can give them whole or crumble them up and put them on a toy, rug, scratching post, etc. Cats are happy to get catnip anywhere!

    • @wetnosespetsitting
      @wetnosespetsitting  5 років тому +5

      I dry is for a couple reasons. I have actually found that some cats prefer dried to fresh, so I wanted to show people how to dry it if that is what their cat prefers. Also, if I am giving it to other people for later use, it will need to be dried. My plants produce a ton during the summer, so I like to have some dried through the winter.

      I think you can get away with a few in an 8" pot. If they end up getting big you can always transplant one into another pot! They are not super sensitive so if they are took close together you will have time to move one. They will both grow well initially. Good luck!

      An additional suggestion for you - if you grow it in a larger pot and set the plant deeper in the pot, you can put chick wire over the top of the pot. That way your cat can nibble on the bits that grow through the wire but cannot get to the roots and kill the plant. Or roll on it. That is a common problem.
