A quick way to make the Pikachu obey you is by spamming items on it (I'd go for potions when it already has full hp outside of battles, since it will raise its obedience without consuming an item)
I cheery-picked the sprites I preferred amongst Green, Blue, Yellow, and for a couple, even Gold and Silver! :D Butterfree specifically should be from Green iirc :)
Because I like them more! Actually for each and every mon I cheery-picked the sprite I liked the best amongst Green, Blue, Yellow, and even Gold and Silver in a couple occasions!
@RainbowMetalPigeon Would it be possible to let the player choose? I don't expect every pokemon but like default/all sprites are Yellow/all sprites are Red/blue/etc?
@@mugenpm9979 I considered that, yes. I'll look into how feasible it is for V1.4 :) It may be a bit of a pain space- and organizational-wise, but should definitely be possible. Hopefully not too too difficult :)
Where did you get this rom? Ive always wanted to try a hacked game but with my inexperience I'm afraid of giving my computer AIDS off a bogus download.
From my side, I can say it's because they look very satisfying when you draw them. So maybe it's a tiny bit of "self-centerdness" where I prioritize what makes me happy over what would make the player happy :')
@@RainbowMetalPigeon just speaking for myself, and without any specific moments, but so much of it is very awkwardly written, with very odd usage of words in a lot of moments. Granted I’ve played the games before, but the moments new text is added into old text feels very jarring. There’s also the general edginess but that’s just par for the course for Pokemon rom hacks
@@Gorge-di2qu Well, English is not my native language, and my phrasing tend to be on the richer side, so if you combine the two of them, definitely you can get some unusual results, I can see that! Jarring, though, seems a bit out of what I expected! That may because I ALSO had to stay within 18 characters per line, hence to avoid having horribly looking blocks of texts with one word per line and lot of empty space, I rearranged order and twisted grammar, very similar to how the original games did. Anyhow, thanks for the much more detailed comment than the OP's! I appreciate criticisms that can make me improve, while "bruh this is bad lol" is just a useless noise imo ^^ If you could pinpoint me some specific sentences that you remember as particularly off, it would be helpful for me to polish EY's and my future projects' writing! @@RainbowMetalPigeon Just my two cents here, but in the video this is most apparent with Blue, Giovanni and some of the new stuff (like the temple). Its a mix of unnaturally phrased edginess, lack of focus, and excessive length. The textboxes here are small, so its really noticeable when the textboxes go on forever and ever and ever about very little in particular. Its like movie writing vs book writing, you have a lot less space so you have to make it count. Keeping the balance between impactful richness and concise simplicity is tough though and I have no real experience in how to pull it off, lol
@@PinkOddishthank you, this is a much more useful feedback than the original one :) Yeah, I used to write novels and story, and I'm verbose at that, so conciseness is not my forte. Plus English is not my native language, and sometimes I even twisted some sentences to fix in the 17- or 18-character-long lines. I feel that the "edginess" argument is extremely subjective so I can't comment on that except that, well, I like what I wrote lol. And yeah, even if I made text printing instantaneous, I can totally see that some dialogues need many A smashes.

Ayy this was a fun watch, really liked your team comp for it all rip mr mime though
If they kept a lot of the bugs, getting full para while underground for dig makes you basically untouchable, which would explain the fly misses.
Ja, I kept those gen1-unique quirks, that should exactly be the explanation :)
HELL YEAH EXTEME
Misspelled title
Fuck yeah, I’m about to start up a file myself. Great vid! 😄
Did they even changed the pkmn sprites? Bc that butterfree looks crispy🔥

@@RainbowMetalPigeon awesome!!

Anywhere to watch the whole playthrough? I don't use twitch anymore.

Mr. 9 piece nugget man. My condolences on not having 10.
Why does the game has red and blue sprites?

@@AbdelhadiBoutimame-nz5kxyou first need to free the Safari Zone indeed! Have you checked out Obsidian? ;)

Some people figured them out and posted them in the Discord server of Extreme Yellow :)
@@RainbowMetalPigeon thank you
Great example of how good programmers don't necessarily make good writers lol
Would you mind elaborating?
