To answer the title: it’s gen 1, of course you can. This romhack is the best way to experience the 1st generation. Every Pokemon fan and ESPECIALLY fans of Kanto should really give this a try. Thanks for sharing the video!
Gen 1 is usually easy to nuzlocke. But this made it quite a bit harder, with some actually legitimate teams! Would highly recommend to Kanto and Gen 1 fans!
It's funny you mentioned the grinding and Radical Red with Rare Candy's when Smith put a Rare Candy Code on his video so everyone would have the chance to not grind
Great work on this run. Not only did you beat it on the hardest difficulty with very few losses, but Pikachu survived to the very end despite your insane (but entertaining) risks. SCEYE-FUR
if you teach Starmie Tbolt, Ice Beam, Surf, and Psychic, it can do super-effective damage to every Pokemon in the pokemon league with the exception of your rival's Alakazam. My last LeafGreen playthrough I did this and realized how busted Starmie was. And because of its speed and special it strikes first and strikes hard.
The Bug Catcher with the Pinsir and Metapod was a character in the anime. Ash battled him in the episode where his Metapod evolved into a Butterfree. Same with the Youngster that had a Level 28 Sandshrew over by Rock Tunnel.
Huge props to the team for making this Romhack, it's definitely a great option and looks really fun. However, I think they have kinda ironically made the game too easy by buffing so many mons. Like with the crappy gen 1 AI and the lack of stat exp on AI trainers, having powerful moves at lower levels just kinda breaks the power balance. I know the games were easy anyway but I think maybe they could have just added the buffs to crap mons and left the decent mons, or maybe added stat exp to gym boss? Although not sure if that's even possible when editing the code. Still really cool though!
Stat XP for gym bosses would be cool. I like the added movesets as a player because it feels so much better to learn cool or interesting moves instead of the original Gen 1 learnsets, but I get where you are coming from!
hey very cool video dude, love it i have a cracked 3ds and have downloaded yellow legacy and have per injector-CIA-shit installed it, but i dont have colours like you, do you have an advise for me ? greetings from germany
A few things got me. The game was a lot better to. AI being smart enough to use Bind hax. Rushed Erica not ready, usually easy, got wiped, lol. The Kadabra/Kazam spamming the recover, and imagine your Kazam being the best one to fight it, lol. Dratini could've been bought in the corner, or did that not count?
@@TheAzulmagia The Pokémon he caught, if he batted the character in question, we use the team he used. If he did not, we pick our team from his collection of Kanto mon. And we keep them in the forms he kept.
If you actually wanted Pikachu to try and solo the entire Elite 4 it would need to know double team it is not just evasion it is also a compounding 30% omni boost
Isn‘t Hypno just a worse Alkazam? Why run it if you have Alakazam. I admit, Alakazam is kind of a cheat code for the game, but especially in a nuzlocke I would always run the strongest Pokémon I have.
lol why is jynx fully purple? Looked way better in the original. Couldn't they have just made the face purple only? The colors on the dress, hair, etc are lacking big time.
As a PSA to all that nuzlock, if you are doing a hardcore nuzlock, the duplicate clause does not apply. You can only catch the first poke you find in each new place. Regardless if it is something you already caught. This duplicate clause exception is intended to make the game that much more challenging. Hense the term "hardcore nuzlock" instead of a standard nuzlock that would include the clause.
Never heard of a nuzlocke not using dupes, but to each their own! Not something I would personally do, because I like the aspect of routing encounters!
@@Hugh_Jainus You are correct. It is self imposed rules. The origin of the rules was to make the game harder to play. If you look at the earliest videos of people playing hardcore nuzlocks and people discussing it online when the concept first came out, you can see that it was a general consensus that the duplicate clause does not apply when imposing the challenge of a hardcore nuzlock. Over the years, that has been lost due to people using the term as clickbait to get views.
Dude - whatever you're doing to your commentary playback speed through half of the video is insufferable I cannot watch the rest of this video because it sounds like you're delivering the side effect disclaimer on a pharma commercial I was pretty interested in this video until I felt like I was suffering a fast forward infomercial
Check out SmithPlays' video if you want to play Yellow Legacy as well! - ua-cam.com/video/jTH2fVqHPwc/v-deo.htmlsi=-GIDYa50FAM3e_hv
Let’s gooo dude!! Thanks for making a video on this one!!
Thanks for creating it!! Looking forward to future ROM Hacks!
That's so cool you can fish in a gym n catch things
Never got why abra is still here

I found that out halfway through LOL

I thought about trying a Starmie sweep for the E4, but decided leading Pikachu would be more fun haha
You are a very good guy bro respecting the team that made this rom just for doing it and not blaming them for your aerodactyl death was elegant
Thanks😎
21:42 Don't know if you saw it, but you can actually press START to auto-sort the bag in this hack.
Yeah- that is a life saver!

Damn!!! You kept your Pikachu alive the whole time, mine died on Misty to crit from Starmie LMAO
RIP!! I got lucky and just crit Starmie first LOL
Good ole’ speed-based crits
S/o to that level 28 sandshrew referencing the anime
That raichu gym battle is genius
It was tough!!

Yeah Im actually doing a playthrough of this. The only problem is recently its been hit with "Copyright" for some reason
damn good vid congrats on the first run! also I love your layout on screen!

I'm so excited this rom is getting so much attention!
You should try Pokémon Insurgence next!
I needed something to watch and Pokerux provided with a banger. Thank you, king 🙏

Don't you need to match the gym leaders number of pokemon in a hardcore nuzlocke? Otherwise the 6v1 Raichu seems a bit cheap.
A 1v1 vs that Raichu wouldn’t be possible with the 4 level advantage. It was hard enough with 6 haha
A few things got me. The game was a lot better to. AI being smart enough to use Bind hax. Rushed Erica not ready, usually easy, got wiped, lol.

I could have bought Dratini as a Game Corner prize I think! Honestly was probably a better option since I risked it running in the Safari Zone
Old Rod makes Brock free regardless of whether you get Poliwag or Goldeen.
That was definitely huge. Poor guy needs to put his gym in a desert
The sound effect when he wins against hard fights, what is that from?? It's driving me crazy. 😂
It looks really fun.
I am awaiting the inevitable “Can you beat Yellow Legacy with Ash’s team?” or whatever
Not really my style but I am sure someone will do it!
@@pokerux3380 I would but I suck and so many of the Pokémon are unevolved
If we're strictly talking about his first six, it should be pretty easy since the four Starters are all pretty solid team options.

Thanks Logan!
There is a ROM hack that let's you have Drowzee as a starter
Was that a “The Drip” reference?
Why’d you let Mr worldwide go??
To save the run😭

Probably LOL

I have used Alakazam so many times. Plus, I like that Hypno is a bit tankier for a nuzlocke. One wrong move with Alakazam and he could die
How do you check DV's in game?
Hold start and press a on STATS option in the pokemon menu
If this is a hardcore nuzlocke, why save before gym leaders and rival fights?
I always save to avoid crashing and losing my progress haha

Alakazam Gyarados Taurus Nidoking are strong as hell. They carried me my whole run making it too easy.
