Interesting! I got this and was running a dual AR and SMG build and was severely underwhelmed by Hercules...Apparently I need to give it another go! I must have passed judgment too quickly!
I don’t know if anyone else noticed but it also makes a bubbling sound when you reload it that I love
There’s an exceptionally glaring flaw with the Hercules 3AX that was missed.
Firing in “smart mode” expends three bullets per-shot, making the ammo problems even worse.
Yeah and the projectile travel time is that of a snail. The only way to use this gun is from hip fire.
Hercules 3AX should have been an iconic machine gun instead of AR.
CDPR realized the Salt in The Wound perk in the AR tree would make it an even bigger monster. And it's glorious.
I just wish we had more machine guns, and past that some more iconics from those. So many cool guns in the tabletop they could've brought forward, too.

My problem with Hercules is the fact that it doesn't feel as an Assault Rifle. The same issue with O'Five: classified as a Sniper Rifle, while being the tank gun. It's size, the mag size, the fire rate... It looks like it was initially planned as an LMG but reworked into AR.
i don't see a problem here lmg skills are underwhelming imo anyways
The psalm is somewhat underrated on the list once you think of it as a support weapon. Combine it with Errata and V turns into a demonic fire damage machine.
That certainly sounds like a thematically satisfying combo of a build!
Yep, it's my highest DPS assault weapon with the right mods.
This was exactly how I played on my 2nd playthrough.

Psalm + Pyro Lexington Xmod2 + Errata - my early game load out for Very Hard, and my first EVER sandevistan build!
Thanks to your videos I've been paying much more attention to the Gigs + NCPD lore synergy, and already lvl 45 early in Act 2, just chasing the lore around town.

Psalm is always my go-to. I don't know if it's just me or a bug but it feels like it has a 100% chance to set enemies on fire and just leave them burning to death.
You can actually fire the Kyuubi pretty fast, faster than it’s stats would suggest, but you have to time your trigger pulls instead of spamming. I don’t know if other guns have this feature, but I only noticed it while messing around with the Kyuubi. It’s a nice little skill bonus for efficient use.
I genuinely think Johnny's Malorian works the same way. If I spam the trigger as fast as possible, it shoots noticeably slower than if you pull the trigger with a slower "Rythm".
i still use Divided We Stand ... its just so much fun, and powerful, and has that wee bit o' sillyness that Cyberpunk seems to do so well. plus, i don't have to really pay attention to swapping guns at the right time (pride/prejudice), or to remember if I should be hip firing or aimdown. its just the best of all Spray-and-Pray. BONUS - it means you get to stick it to those 6thstreet gonks
Or you could use yin long and actually hit your targets
Added bonus is you get no fart clouds

my first playthrough was an AR/katana -zero-intelligence-solo build
and the kyubi XMOD-2 w firecracker + pyro was my go-to rifle... till i picked up the kyubi HAWK. slapped an epic silencer and holo sight on it, and it was hard for me to use any other gun!!! the crippling debuffs combined w massive range, heavy hit dmg, and recoil control w the semi feature coupled w a silencer made me both a deadly sniper as well as a lethal solo. hands down, imo, top 3 of the best ARs. i eventually just ended up retiring my explosive incendiary round XMOD-2 variant.
I personally never understood all the hype with the Masamune. Even before patch 2.0 I never got all that fast kills with it consistently. I think it heavily depends on how accurate you are with the guy for its performance. The only time I found a lot of consistency and when I was using sandy
Agreed. I used to love burst guns when I was younger, but now I prefer full-auto for the spray n' pray, and semi-auto for the precision. Burst guns tend to combine the two, but reach the highs of neither, putting it in a weird spot IMO

I think it’s a crime that there wasn’t any tech assault rifles in the game.
There are no tech assault rifles, LMGs, and only one SMG, precision rifle, sniper rifle, and shotgun.
it is by far the most disregarded type of weapon in the game. It's the most fun yet there's only like 7 tech weapons.
Pistols and Revolver gets to have most of them sadly.
Honestly, the game doesn't need that many types of tech weapons. They are the best in the game and it makes sense that their are only a few different ones. Give me the Breakthrough sniper, the xmod-2 Achilles, and a tier 5 variant tech shot gun and their is nothing in the game that can stop me.
I love the umbra. Sure it can’t have a scope but it feels really nice. Its lower damage is barely noticeable with salt in the wound. It’s a laser. Despite the lack of a scope you really can beam people with it. It feels like a good traditional assault rifle. I love its firing speed and lack of recoil. I personally prefer it over the copperhead. The copperhead kicks a lot more.
Psalm + Contagion is a fun combo that tends to lead to... explosive results
Kyubi is spelled "QB", it means "Nine Tails" usually referring to the nine tailed mythical fox from Japan.
I find Moron Labe greatly inconsistent after 2.0 and find it surprising that Divided We Stand ended up being my personal favourite because it now fits more to my Netrunning playstyle. Missed the Hercules 3AX though, will have to grab it on my next playthrough.
I think this list just proves that every gun is viable. I was just doing some trials of my own, comparing a Psalm, a Ajax with two slots, and the Umbra xmod 2. I came to the decision that the Umbra was doing the most damage and fit my build the best.
Yeah tbh these videos are as much guides for cool ways to use different weapons, how to get them, and a general overview. I just like the ranking format and it's fun to hear everyone elses opinions too
A Masamune specced out for medium range range stealth-sniping is still really good. And most importantly, looks amazing in the equipment screen and first person. And the reload is cool.
I remember my dad completed Cyberpunk on Very Hard on 1.5-1.6 and very much recommended using Psalm, because its then lower rate of fire made it into somewhat of a hybrid of an AR and presision rifle + with enough upgrades it had the biggest damage per shot amongst other rifles
And now in 2.1 i simply unload 50 rounds into Malestrom thugs and watch them die in a fire for their sins)
It may not be the most effective, but it's a lot of fun
Thanks for the constant stream of videos to keep me wanting to come back to Cyberpunk. I am planning to play it again with mods but there is an update around the corner so I'll just keep waiting. Do you still have many videos planned on cyberpunk?
Glad they're keeping you entertained. I still have a lot of ideas I want to make if people keep watching. After the rerankings I still have tonnes of theories and lore and secrets I wanna explore but will be attempting to branch out to some other games as well
I've never spec'd into assault rifle perks but I liked using "Hawk" during my previous playthrough. I was using quickhacks as well so I would debuff and chip down the tough enemies with Hawk headshots and then let my overclocked hacks spread and kill everyone. This worked extremely well especially when combined with a silencer and Sonic Shock (before it was bugged).
Kind of unrelated to the videos, but watching you rank all these and their respective pros and cons made me think; would be amazing if CDPR made some kind of "unlimited" mode, maybe a roguelike or a similar game mode with waves of enemies spawning in an arena of sorts which progressive got harder, and after each successive wave you could upgrade or change your weapon & cyberware etc. and see how far you get.
Psalm 116 is such a delicious dealer of hot fiery death. Easy to acquire, and almost a go-to in early game before Konpeki Plaza. And it looks hot.

My current favorite build so far is this poison/fire netgunner with the hercules when i found it. Raven cyberdeck for all the spreads, contagion+overheat, thermo arm cannon, pyromaniac going off and refunding some ammo and the hercules leaving a giant stink cloud. Cleaned anything still left standing up with the smart smg that does the lightning(cba to get the spelling right) or stinger. The amount of diverse and colorful explosions on my screen was extraordinary.
Dont know how you get videos with such excellent research, editing, gameplay and scripting out SO FAST! You're the GOAT of this community. I look forward to every one and am never disappointed. For me...I guess Im simple...after now 700 hours the Ajax just feels like my "home" gun. I like to dabble with them all, but the Ajax is so predictable, forgiving and user friendly for my tastes.

Psalm is really underrated here. You can get it so early in the game and it can carry you all the way.

I've generally preferred submachineguns and sniper rifles in my play, although before 2.0 I always had an Ajax or Moron Labe with a fast-fire, low recoil mod...sadly missing in the current game. Even though I have all the Amazon Plus bonuses, I still find the sub-guns preferable. However I'll have to experiment with Hawk when it comes my way again. The base Kyubi I've always found rather weak, but it looks like Hawk has qualities worth exploring.
The Hercules looks and feels more like some kind of LMG

Psalm, Moron, and the XMOD2 Umbra and Kyubi are by far my favorites.
Firecracker on the Umbra makes it very deadly especially with Big Mag (its already very accurate and low recoil) and its been one of my favorite combos. Psalm and Moron are great for getting nice and close, the Kyubi is a precision tool - I put big mag in both slots there too for better sustained firepower.

Idk maybe people didnt noticed or they just forget to mention, but rogues weapons prejudice and pride are both usable with the latest silencer which garantees crit hits when being undetected (written in the description). That will give you the +100% crit damage on every shot and makes them the best stealth weapons as far as i know. And makes sadly the silenced sniper from panam pretty weak, which needs a buff like +50% crit damage and garanteed crits when being undetected.

Regarding 18:58, I think it's left behind since Reed would update V some time after meeting, and extracting, Myers that she traveled back to DC on commercial transportation.
I imagine traveling around with a big ol' AR would be hard to keep a covert profile, I further imagine that NUSA's FAA air travel guidelines probably wouldn't allow firearms in commercial flights.
Watching these videos made me realize how many good guns I missed my first go around (or sold/scraped). Missed the Hercules and the Erebus but this time, I won't
😊 Kyubi xmod 2 with pyro and firecracker is a fun combo especially for a netrunner using contagion to cause those explosive results. Its a very accurate assault rifle fires slowly and like a pistol but with more range. Juet keep a shotgun or melee weapon maybe even a smg for closer battles. From any distance this thing is nice and it can spread damage around and blow up explosive barrels with the firecracker mod added. If you like the idea of a super accurate hard hitting semi automatic assault rifle this is your gun. That or Hawk.
A barghest trooper once dropped a tier 5++ copperhead with all empty mod slots, lets just say it became my main assault rifle
As a silent assassin V, I'm a very big fan of the Iconic Kyubi. Killing 3 bars in a single headshot is golden

Might be interesting to make a smart weapon only comparison, given, as you mentioned, they being in a separate tree in INT and all.
I actually use the militech Ajax and tsunami kyubi quite often with my nomad sniper. They work great with silencers
I've been playing with the "enemies of night city" mod and it seems like they added a bunch of extra armor to certain enemies so a legendary ajax with 2 swiss cheeses seems to be the one for me. It reliably gets thru everything.
Hawk is my go to for stealth assault kills. Rocking Fenrir for general mayhem. Or Divided We Stand. It'll be awhile until I get my hands on the portable Geneva Convention violator

Good stuff. I could watch these for ever. 2.1 has made Cyberpunk infinitely replayable. Just btw “Chinook” is usually pronounced “shin-OOK” with emphasis on the second syllable (which rhymes with “look”). They were those big, butt ugly helicopters from the Vietnam War with two rotors - one each on the front and back
And the helicopter, like so many of them, got it's name from Indian tribe.
@@mikalappalainen2041True. The warrior cultures of indigenous Native Americans seem to have inspired lots of helicopter names - including Chinook, Comanche, Apache. The Chinook is such a uniquely weird and ugly helicopter that the nation it's named after must've been furious.
Ive been using Psalm my entire 3rd playthrough that ive been doing, first on very hard. Along with other fire weapons and thermal gorrila fists its been fun

I am looking forward for a new top for the precision rifles for patch 2.1.
I started playing not too long ago a build with mainly shotguns and light machineguns and while doing very well with them i recently found one of the unic precision rifles, the hypercritical, and oh man how good it is.
I am probably going to try the build that you'll be using with it in the video.
Btw, ARs are not my favorite wepons cause i realy have to shot many rounds in order to kill something. I personaly am more into one shot one kill strategy and the shotguns and precision rifles are on my list :)

I'd still use Moron Labe in 2.0 because it's easy to acquire early, has a 10/10 built in scope, can shoot effectively up close and on some distance if you do singular shots in the head or vulnerability point and it's black which is crucial for me.
so far there's been 3 guns I've consistently settled on for the bulk of my play. Pride supressed for the bulk of things, Fenrir for when things go hot, and the Kyubi xmod for when things are hot and there's a sniper way over there that's bugging me, lol. super curious as to how you're going to rank the SMG's
I would personally think the Kyubis should be ranked lower than the Psalm because their TTk is so dang inconsistent with it's low fire rate
Fun side note on the quest to get Divided We Stand. If you leave that mission till later in the game, and have done some pretty significant gigs in Rancho, They attack you even if you won the game fair and square, with some funny comments from one of the 6th Street gangers.
Not sure what gig(s) trigger it... but was a fun surprise I had not been ready for.
It's if you take the violent approach for the 'Life's Work' gig. I covered it in the gigs series and considered discussing the detail in full again for this video but reckoned it might deviate a little
@@SamBram My knowledge of what triggers what is dated at best... but I have been tending toward reversing the order of my gigs these days, what with the scaling leveling making some places accessible than they once were.
Discovered your incredibly detail oriented and excellent vids more recently, when looking up something from PL.
These interactional changes and dialogue modifications are why I often enjoy doing certain gigs early.
Like "Monster Hunt". and now "Life's Work" apparently 😁
(edit) Now that I think on it, I stealthed that mission in this playthrough completely. yet they still "knew" it was me. That's interesting. My next run I think I will go non-lethal, and after that i will just dash through, not even knocking anyone out.

For something like the Pride and Prejudice combo, is there a way to quickswap between weapons? For instance, Horizon Forbidden West had on option where you could mark a weapon (or one of its ammo types) as your primary, so that if you had a different weapon in your hands, you can just tap L1 without even opening the weapon wheel to go back to your primary. Anything like that in 2077?
For me the Hercules is my Netrunner's answer to Smasher when using the Militech Canto. The deck's main power (Blackwall) is useless against him so you have to depend on the other 4 slots. Slow him down then unleash Hercules. When his team comes in Blackwall them then, once they are done, go back to slowing down Smasher and hit him with Hercules until he goes down. Other than that it is great but I prefer more stealthy weapons in most gigs and only bring him out if things get too spicy.
Man, i love Divided We Stand, i just go to high ground, try and fit as many enemies in the smart reticle and just unload an entire clip. 99% of the time, everything is dead just after that
Accidentally found out you can get Carmen without doing the quest by just killing Paco - if you manage to aggro him and Babs, he drops the gun on death. Again, I did this completely by accident after getting into a fight with the Barghest guys near them. Reloaded my save so I'd still be able to the quest (plus felt kinda bad) but did some testing and, yeah, it wasn't just a fluke.
I really like divide we stand and carmen. However I haven't used prejudice or Hercules yet either. Hawk isn't bad but sometimes the single fire was a bit inconvenient.
I found personally the DA8 Umbra to be very controllable early on, better than the Copperhead at spitting out damage if ammo-hungry. Of course, it takes too many resources to still use it once you get some assault rifle perks and the Copperhead becomes the better laser beam but it's my beginner's choice.
The Masamune is slow and sluggish, arguably on par with the copperhead in terms of game feel, and I would personally knock down the base Kyubi one or two spots.
Psalm is interesting considered it's a unique you can get so early on and the only way I can enjoy the Copperhead, I can jump around targets long before they're dead as the fire status does good work on them.
Overall I don't really feel like using assault rifles after I reach a certain point in the game. My general preference weighs towards louder and prouder guns or the satisfaction of taking large chunks out of someone while staying behind several layers of physical cover, though I did play both stealth and smartgun builds where I liked the Kyubi over the Ajax as suppressed gun and Divided we Stand is both great fun when skilled in as well pretty much the only smartgun that pools from the assault rifle ammo type.

Barghest Ajax with firecracker and a silencer. It downs groups faster than any other Assault rifle. Only thing that is more effective is a shotgun with kneel and firecracker on it
Automatic weapon builds definitely feel the ammo pain. Pistols, shotguns, snipers, and precision rifles can be fired at will at the spongy enemies of very hard without ever even thinking of crafting or buying any, but LMGs, ARs and SMGs - especially builds dominated by one exclusively - definitely require you to ensure you're stocked up before a fight.

So far my characters have started from the original start.

I understand now that it is more preferable to get the extra perk points from filling all a character stats to 35 to get those extra perks!
So I would suggest a video that concentrated upon getting you to a certain point where you can then make "the" choice where you want to go after progressing those skills in the most efficient way?

"Molon Lave" means literally in greek "having come, you'll take". Even in polish it sounds archaic ("Przyszedłszy, weźmiesz"). "Molon Lave" is a very very old greek form and it should be written as laVe, not laBe. In greek the "v" sound is written with beta-letter, but read as "v".
"Moron Labe" is a common mispronunciation.
Darius said to Leonidas "Hand down your weapons", which he responded to with "Molon Lave". By that accepting his death there in some way.

I FOUND KNEEL IN THE WILD.
When we go to that party with Songbird and play roulette with the runners.
When you first sneak in to that balcony spot and then start walking towards the doors to the main hall, keep walking all the way to the end of the balcony. There is a box on the ground with KNEEL in it.
As a Netrunner in cyberpunk smart weapons is our best partners
and with all the guns that CDPR added in Phantom Liberty there's no doubt the Hercules 3AX is the best main weapon that we could ever ask for!
The Hercules 3AX with double Ying Long it's enough to make Every single NPC cry in NightCity and Dogtown
I have found you can kinda get around the aim down sights issues with the moron labe by tap firing really fast instead of holding the button down.
