Hi Rob, I love to see how much your channel has evolved since this old-school breakdown of expenses. Plus, over the course of a year or so, Chrissy seems like she’s really blossomed into a very happy place in life. All the Best! Patrick
The best budgeting presentation out of the close to ten I have seen. The others talk about the minimum that one can live on in the Philippines, but I have $ 5,000 a month.
I no longer own a tie and have not worn one in more than 10 years. Don’t miss it one bit. Good Video. My GF’s rent in a nice area of Manila, gated with security, 2 bedroom townhome. 10000PHP
Thanks so much for the great content. I really enjoyed your video. I wish you a happy new year and many years to come. I have a Filipina fiancé that owns her own land. We have discussed building a home on the property Any suggestions? Possibly leasing for the 25 years you spoke of. How about a living trust to secure any doubt
8:06 Can't lease from wife. That includes leasing from a girlfriend and then marrying her. Marrying is a very bad deal even in PH. You can buy land for a Filipina and execute a lease at the same time. The title is in her name, but you have a 25 year lease with another 25 year option. Then if you build a house that can be in your name. Foreigners can't own the land, but can own the house structure. Then never marry the Filiona. The second you marry the land and lease become owned by you both and since you can't own the land she does and the lease gives you no rights. The house becomes owned by you both. If you run into problems she has the legal right to let 10, 20, 50 of her friends and family move in. Another option is to not put title in the Filipina's name and instead do what Filipinos do and put it in the name of a random poor Filipino who has no idea what he's signing. Filipinos call this person a "Dummy Owner". If you ever want to sell the land the Dummy Owner's name is signed by whoever. That's called forgery in the US, but normal business in PH. Just depends how safe you want to be. Most foreign simps just love buying property for their Filipina because they're so in love and will never have problems. Then there's problems. Personally I see absolutely no reason to hand huge assets over to a Filipina. At most I would put an option into the lease for your Filipina to buy the property from the Dummy for 1 peso and not tell her that's in the lease. Obvious you want a good understanding of PH real estate law and a good lawyer with excellent English to advise and draw up the lease. But you have to know enough to have some understanding of what the lawyer is talking about. If you just say "Oh, you handle it" you'll likely be in trouble.
Looking to make the trip at the end of December 2023. Currently living Payson AZ. Have LDR that is currently working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She will be done with her contract at the end of December and is planning to head back to the Philippines. Her parents have property in Leyte area. My goal is to build a house knowing that I will never own but if things work out then that's fine and dandy. I will only be living on my social. Do not have a big bankroll and I am currently working to put away some to build the house when I get. Any information you would able to pass on my way would be much appreciated. Thank you and I enjoy channel.
I strongly encourage you to rent a house for the first few years latest famous for typhoons, coming through and destroying lots and then you’ll have a chance to cement the relationship
I noticed in your video that you said you could only take out 10,000 pieces at a time I was just there in the Philippines in late January early February and at first I didn’t know how much I could take out but it allowed me to take out 27,000 pesos in domagette and then when I was in cebu I was able to take out 56,000 pesos with only a charge of five dollars
China bank allows more than 10k, supposedly 50k however it only allowed me 20k both times. In 14 months and a dozen atm only time more than 10k allowed at a single use? Possibly in Manila and Cebu different.
Great content. What are the compromises in your quality of living you make by living there? Or maybe you don’t make any compromises with the quality of living. Thank you.
What advice would you give a man who is 40 that wants to move there at 60? What can I do to prepare? I feel like since I have time I might be able to get a head start on something ? Maybe this is a dumb question… I plan on visiting often and try to meet a Filipina to marry. I can get American women but man am I over them haha. I want to get a head in my retirement there. I work for myself. So no pension. I guess advice beyond just save as much as possible.
IM 77 AND AM COMING TO THE PHILIPPINES IN MARCH TO SEE MY 36 YEAR OLD GIRLFRIEND IN MINDANAO . AM WATCHING YOUR CHANNEL TO GET HINTS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH HER. I WILL BE HERE A MONTH. IF THAT WORKS OUT I WILL GO HOME AND SELL MY HOUSE AND COME BACK AND BUILD US A HOUSE NEAR HER PARENTS AND HOPEFULLY LIVE ON MY $2500 A MONTH . WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Sounds good I would rent a place for a week then I would rent a place for a month then I would rent a place for three months then I would rent a place for a year then I would rent a place for two years and I don’t think I would ever build a house Except eventually you might help build onto her families home, but not as a place for you to live

Wait, Chrissy is from Pagadian City😳??? Is the Midsilip/Pagadian City area safe???
It’s not an ideal place to visit however we took a road trip there and spent two nights and I didn’t feel unsafe but we live five hours north in Cdo
