It's still good to invest in the index, especially for moderately conservative investors. For the PSEI, I suggest buying FMETF instead of an index fund. Index fund investing is really for the long-term investors, 10 years or more holding period.

Sir, investing only in your 40’s? That’s late! 17:50 Invest already in your 40’s and 50’s will not meet your retirement needs. One should start as early as possible, preferably as soon as you start working. Perhaps in the early 20’s.
The government should acquire the private companies controlling the public infrastructures and services like tollways, electricity, water, telco and airlines. So that people can save 60% of their daily expenses.
Duda ako sa data na ito, CEO halos kasing laki lang ng sahod ko? And I’m just a team manager just like my wife and we’re just getting by, average lifestyle. 100k pataas kung CEO.
15k salary recommendation yan 10 years ago, not recommended these days. These days you will want your citizen to be earning atleast 30k per month for newly grad. More salary, more purchasing power, money flows better in my opinion which is more close to reality, than 15K.
Question po. I usually count my savings rate and investment rate separately. I have 37.5% investment rate and 27.5% savings rate. Sa 'How Big Should Your Savings Be?' portion, it says in your 20s it's encouraged to have 50% savings rate. I'm in my 20's but my strict savings rate (no investment rate accounted for) is only 27.5%. But if I include my investment rate together with savings it become 65%. Should I be including my investments together with my savings to get a more accurate savings rate?
For the video, the savings rate and investment rate are considered as one (added together). Just remember that when you have enough savings as your emergency fund (maximum of 1 year's worth of expenses), you can treat all that you can set aside monthly as your investment fund. No need to save more money, you can invest everything.
I don't really have a video about this strategy, but I always mention it whenever the topic is about emergency funds. That you should save first and build your EF, and once that's done - go ahead and invest all your surplus. However, when I say invest, it's not putting all your money wherever. It's good to build a portfolio of low-, moderate-, and high-risk investments that can help you achieve your financial goals.
