It would be cool if you made a video on some cool root modules that help improve performance
Debloater is a good one
Custom kernels are better
Custom ROM and stock-like custom kernel 😀even better still
@@danielkisilu7371 Custom Kernels Are Definitely The best option but if you have an obscure device its hard to find a good one if any

Nice information! I'm enjoying having root for the 1st time ♥
It would be nice if you make root apps/magisk modules, you recommend for rooted users for a video idea
Nice one thanks Sam 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks a million for this guide. It was an area of concern.
Hey do you know how to properly do this step by step?

Using a custom ROM like lineage os you don't need to worry about updates because it work even with root. 😏
@RiPSaW六十六 yes
Depends if the rom is official or not
I really hate using custom roms (at least on samsung).
Either the camera is not working at all, or you lose half of the camera features.
VoLTE is not working, call over wifi is also broken.
NFC is broken on 50% of available roms
Fingerprint is also often not supported
And sometimes connecting to specific bluetooth devices causes audio errors.
So why even bother flashing a custom rom, if you lose many of the phone features that you paid for
@@UltraHQ that's a Samsung issue
So I have redmagic 6 and it has a game mode switch on it if I get a different rom will I lose my game mode?
This guide still works perfectly with android 13 and magisk 25.2 on pixel 6, thank you!
hey how do you hide root so i can use google wallet. thankis
@@YoungWise2011 I cant use google wallet. But i'm using systemless hosts setting at magisk for banking apps and other NFC wallet, you have to google how to configure that function.
Waiting for this mannnnn🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video man!
thank you for your help!
And with your quality of a vedeo, If you could release vedeos on booting up costom roms on most of the popular phones...the costom rom community will increase and more non techie people could make their phones even cooler and last longer years😌✨
Clean flash is always reccomended😉
This is actually not all that bad, imo. I never had a rooted phone but I am thinking of rooting my Xiaomi 12 Pro so I can switch launchers, optimize my battery usage, privacy and do some other really cool stuff. But I will first need to find out all the consequences. Luckily I also have a Redmi Note 10 Pro, which has some other very specific purpose that it actually kinda needs root for to work much better so I'm gonna try out some stuff with it. In case I actually manage to completely ruin it, the damage done wouldnt be that expensive or devestating as I wouldnt be loosing much since I could just go back and do a facotry reset without having to do a load of setup again. With a main phone its quite a bit more nerve wrecking if you mess up and going back to a back up over and over again.
lawnchair isn't working on Android 12L what are you using instead of lawnchair to customise your home screen
Verified working on my Pixel 6 Pro 👍
Can you make a video of how unlocking the bootloader of Xiaomi phones but using mac os?
Thank you 🔥
Trying to update to the incremental update OnePlus did for the OnePlus 8 but when I attempt to extract the boot.img it comes back as 0 bytes, what am I missing?
Is it possible to root a OnePlus Nord on Android 10 and then update to Android 12 OxygenOS F.15 without losing TWRP + root? Is TWRP important to install or is Magisk enough?
is there any way to turn off system sound but keep keyboard sound ? one ui 4.1
Hello sir, thank you. I want to ask you a question. I have a Techno Spark Go 2023 mobile phone. I bought it about two months ago. Honestly, the imei in the phone changed it from a mobile specialist. There is a new update for the mobile with a size of 104 megabytes, but the problem is that it is written in the update ... Be aware that this update may destroy the root in your device .... I downloaded a program Root checker from Google Play to make sure that the phone has root or not. The program gave that there is no root, and until now I have not downloaded the update because I am worried that the phone will stop working. In your opinion, what should I do? Should I download the update or not? Thank you very much.
I installed adb with homebrew on my Mac and I don't have to type cd directory commands
Isn't that a better way

SOMEONE PLS TELL ME WHETE I CAN FIND THAT BLUE WALLPAPER
Hi man , I watched your video and I think it is possible to get it to work on Samsung Note 10 Plus Android 12 .
Can it work if you didn't use magisk to root phone if not how
This just reminded me why I should not root my phone 😅. This hassle for OTA update is too much
yes :( I rooted my phone for data recovery and recovery failed. Now, I don't need the root access, so I uninstalled Magisk completely (in app). What happened is that I can't update automatically through OTA. My phone is in orange state. What a hassle!
Thanks so much for these awesome videos! I'm stuck on waiting for devices.... I installed the USB driver from Android Studio, tried manually installing the fastboot driver. uninstall, reinstall, etc. Tried disabling driver signature verification then updating and it doesn't recognize. I type fastboot devices and no serial shows so that's my issue but how can I get it to show? I followed your video to root and have been rooted for months no issue. I decided to update and it went flawless, up until I needed to fastboot that magisk patched img. Seems this was an issue for me rooting but I can't get it figured out. Any advice?
Managed to get some sleep and figure it out. Boot into abd reboot-bootloader then go to Device Manager and install the USB Driver manually. After that, type fastboot devices and you should get the serial. The problem was I wasn't in recovery so I could never install the driver. Back rooted on June OTA.
I'm having trouble after doing the ./fastboot boot [magisk patched file] step, after my device boots back up, once I unlock my phone it immediately reboots my phone and the android recovery screen appears saying "Can't load Android system. Your data may be corrupt ...." after selecting the try again option the phone reboot backs into its unrooted state and when selecting the install option in magisk it prompts me to patch the boot file again? Does anyone know why this is happening and a way of overcoming this issue? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If i do ./fastboot flash boot [magisk patched file] method that was done in the orginal pixel 6 root video, do you think I will encounter the same problem or does that step make me lose my existing data?
i have the same problem if you do fastboot flash boot you will get a bootloop same as i did i also dont know what i do wrong
Nice 21:9 2,35 image! ;)
Bro after update does twrp recovery delete
after fastboot boot magisk.img, magisk doesn't seem to have super user and is unable to direct install. Not sure what i'm doing wrong, it's the patched version that I got following the steps.
EDIT: The pixel 8 works with the init_boot file not the boot file. I believe the temporary step would be to use fasttboot init_boot magisk_Patched_init_boot.img
Can you make a video on how to root
Does it work with TWRP?
My pixel 6 keeps saying "E:footer is wrong E:Signature verification failed" plz plz help
Thanks God ! Now I'm going to stop thinking about rooting 😒😂
yes , rooting is sh## :( I rooted my phone for data recovery and recovery failed. Now, I don't need the root access, so I uninstalled Magisk completely (in app). What happened is that I can't update automatically through OTA. My phone is in orange state. What a hassle!
Why didn't you just use a custom recovery for rooting?
It's easier that way
Not every phone use a custom recovery, the Pixel 6 for example doesnt have it yet, like he said it's the most universal way to do it! ^^
@XEX If you don't know, zip it
Don't talk anything with that half baked knowledge
@XEX it's not literal genius, it means to shut up, referencing zippers, like the ones found in jackets or pockets
and TWRP IS available for android 12 so are other recoveries
Is there not twrp available? This is what I've I use

Is this for every security update this needs to be done? I'm finding it hard to decide if it's worth it to root my phone if I need to spend 20 minutes every month to update it, just seems really tedious on top of having to constantly see if there is a new update. There's no way to do everything on the phone?
you compromising you security anyways by unlocking the bootloader so...
@@ghajik. That's irrelevant
@@alexosow you can download the update normally (then DONT restart), then install using magisk by install to inactive slot and restart (disable all your modules before you do this, and also delete any modules that modify the system, eg: Audiophile modules). There are good yt tutorials out there, i recently updated to the december update using the above method so it works.
Wow awesome
I wonder about ONE UI
This process takes at least 10-15 mins .... For an absolute pro like this guy.
Think about an absolute noob trying to this for the first time...... 🤐
Anything could go wrong at any point of time... Must proceed with high caution and Must know what exactly you are doing.
I better root my phone once it stops getting ota updates
This isn't even hard... If you can root your phone you can do rhis
Just watch the video first and write all the instructions on notepad on your desktop. Then complete with your instructions.
hey! updated through this method successfully, but when i tried to permanently install the patched boot.img file Magisk didn't give me the option to direct install. i decided to just flash the image through adb manually which worked out ok, but my phone still no longer has root and i'm not sure what to do. i have a Pixel 7 Pro, running Magisk 26.4 updated to the latest February release of android 14. thoughts?
note: i did originally set up root via Pixel launcher but given that it uses ADB and magisk under the hood anyway i don't see why that shoul
eidt: could it be that i need to patch the otherinit_boot.img file instead? it doesn't look lke that's a fix either because when trying to boot from the patched version from fastboot mode literally nothing happened lol
Damn...i want a Pixel phone so much. Sam, can you lend me one?😒
What about samsung?
Hello! Google Wallet just arrived to my country and I was so excited for it but sadly it won't let me add any cards because it detects that my phone has an unlocked bootloader. I pass safetynet and all of that, but it seems like they're not using safetynet check to verify device integrity anymore. I did some research and it seems like this problem is very new and I imagine this has affected other people as well. Just wondering if there's a workaround you know.
I've seen a modified version of SafetyNetFix circulating around on XDA forums that supposedly fixes this issue
Have for windows
How can your phone be rooted?
How can you connect an android to a macbook air?
Thanks

Great make a updated one
Dunno if it's the same for Pixel devices but on my OnePlus 8T with Lineage for microG I just install the OTA, then open Magisk Manager, install it to the second slot, and reboot.
do you disable magisk modules before OTA update?
@@nishant3387 Nope, why?

I was so disappointed with the recent Oxygen OS 12 update news for the OP8 Pro, that after almost 2 years of running stock android, I used your video to unlock the bootloader and installed a custom ROM - Nameless ROM and I couldn't be happier. Essentially, it gave me all of the Google Smarts that come with the new Pixel 6 Pro without dishing out a $1000++

@Shane Sahil R u using a custom rom? Can u send me a few screenshots of ur notification settings because I have everything turned on and still nothing is showing up on lock screen
For what's what, I really don't think this is worth it
Yes, rooting a phone is, really, not for everyone. Where rooting opens doors for customizations, it also creates hurdles for once-normal operations, like downloading certain apps or OTA updates. And this is only the basic hurdles. The advanced ones are "Orange state" device, unsigned stock ROM, permanently unlocked bootloader, security issues, etc. There's a lot of them. Not worth it.
Well at least its someone speaking English this time.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 it would've been better in Indian
You're correct, it is relatively simple and easy, just as a surgeon would think an appendectomy is a relatively simple and easy procedure. But you discount what it takes to get to relatively simple and easy. I'll pass.
yeah the process is simple but understanding it can be tricky. I am using my old phone to mess around with rooting. currently got lineage os running with Google services and I gotta say, it's not an experience I would go through on my every day phone.
Just write it out in notepad before completing. Not at all as complex as it seems.
Please ?

Alternatively you can back up your data then flash the stock ROM, do all the OTA updates then root again.
If you are a minimalist like me all your data can fit in a microSD card. Plus you will get the speed of a fresh OS install.
I hate how manufacturers have the balls to sell us a product and then they do not not allow us to change said product into whatever we wamt
I get where you're coming from, but rooting our devices creates a security risk that can potentially make it easier to access our precious information. It would be no fun as a manufacturer to release products, customers get themselves in trouble, and then customers want to start legal battles and point fingers back on the manufacturers. This process makes it "difficult" to bypass the security these big companies boast about.
just manufacture you own device and change it to whatever you want
I updated for a long time with fastboot instead of adb sideload so i had to check in the flash-all.sh if the -w flag of the command is removed so it don't do a Factory reset. Do i don't have to check anything with sideload and it will not do a factory reset?:
?
Works in 2024
Damn... What's the true and working way to do a complete FULL backup of non-rooted phone? I do not care for the the stupid images you can copy-paste by yourself from your phone to the PC or sync the shit contacts that are already safe in your SIM card... I want to back up the full stock miui ROM settings I've made, all apps that I have installed with their app data before trying to reroot/update my phone. I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, and not sure if Xiaomi have official Mi PC programs/tools for this if you are not rooted to full backup your phone from A to Z or again it's the useless android backup and restore option from the phone settings menu that only syncs your calendar and contacts lol : (
Also any articles how to full backup via TWRP if there's nothing else vanilla?
You need to preform 10000 steps and still no guarantee that you completely and successfully made backup of the FULL ROM while in 1 click from the phone menu, or when unlocking the bootloader again wipe is required for no reason, or whatever else happens, "in order to fix your phone" reinstall rom, etc, you need to wipe everything. I hate this. On windows even if you break the system/bios completely you can still have your data unless you decide to wipe the hard drive and even if you do mistakes chance to loose your stuff is low.
rooting a device is shi###y
sorry but your method is one of the worst i have seen, the quality of the video is great. i prefer the (delete -w) flash image or the use the slot b way, way too much easier
Updating looks like a pain. Now I'm having seconds thoughts on rooting.
That's true, but it has only taken me up to 30 minutes to update my phone. It's not that hard, but I see how that would discourage people from rooting
@@kevinbonilla3959 I'm just scared to mess it up. I don't really mind how long it takes.
