I haven't done sideload updates since...I don't remember when, because OTA updates on my Samsung were always as soon as it is available. But I couldn't get OTA update for Pixel 6 since it was released few weeks ago. This tutorial is pretty good for those who know something about command prompt adb, etc. But for others I think you need to have more explanations. Thanks!

Hey, love your videos! but i do have a few questions, if i were to install a factory image of a stable version of android 13 on my pixel, do i actually need to root my device? and also does my device need to be factory reset before sideloading when im in the latest QPR beta?

Great, informative video! It's total BS though that Google can't get this update to all Pixel 6 owners by now. It's the reason we all buy Pixels...for the updates. As much as I despise Apple, their updates are always available day 1 for any supported iOS device. Step up your game, Google because this is pathetic!
Im here a year after you posted this because the June Pixel Drop is late. I agree, this is pathetic and one of the main reasons to get a Pixel over other android phones is the supposed Apple-like experience. I don't understand how a billion dollar company like Google can't get their shit together or command as much of control over their products as Apple does.

When I try to run ./adb side load on my Mac, it shows an error on my Pixel 6 Pro “E:footer is wrong” and “E:Signature verification failed” and “E:error: 21”. Any thoughts? This should still work on carrier locked phones, yeah?
'sideload' should not be seperate words.
If sideload was not seperated then I think you need to unlock the bootloader on your phone

Google's "surprise" February update for the Pixel 5 led to my phone being corrupted... Trying this now in hopes it works!
I'm actually worried now... I was offered the December update on Pixel 6 Pro, so I installed it.
But if most others don't have it, does it mean there are serious problems with the patch that I installed? 😱
It just means they may have paused to patch some things and will simply roll out an updated version which you'd get too, or they are just rolling it out slowly. Either way you're good to go.
Is this confirmed that Google has paused it?
@@natew it seems like the rollout has halted in all the forums. I'd say we'll see the resuming happen in January with updated firmware.

@@purian23 bro i had done that , and now i had this issue of green tint on display at dim lights , pretty annoying it is . i had tried factory reset doesn't work , i was worried if it is hardware issue but it isnt , samsung's s20 had similar issue and they solved it with a system update . hope to receive the update resolving the issue soon .
revived my old Pixel 4 XL with this method. I thought it was time to say good bye.

on windows if it doesnt work try the mac command of .\adb instead of just adb and it should work

I type "adb sideload" and then the file name and it says error and it's not there so idk

Type adb sideload hit space and drag the zip file into your CMD, then hit enter
why cant you just say clearly this is needed....now im confused as hell.... adb download to windows, ?? i have an app on my pixel 7 named adb ? or is it a choice i can make, go with SDK platform tools instead ??? or both, and here ju drop "universal adb drivers AND Nexus tools ... is it to keep adb on windows up to date or instead of ?????

You're gonna have to unlock the bootloader for that
your instructions are really bad compared to Tech Valor. I tried yours for 30 minutes and was unsuccessful to make it through half the instructions. Yours were very unclear compared to hers. I was able to update mine in short order. go watch her video to see how yours is so bad, try redoing your video.

Google's handling of releasing major updates really scratches my head.
One of the main reasons why I bought my first Pixel phone was for fast updates. Terrible first impression so far. I should of just kept my old One Plus 7 Pro. And I'm not tech savvy enough to side load an update.
My OnePlus 8 is nearly 1.5 years old and has gotten like 7 updates

@@8bitpro85 It's frustrating, but trust me, as a long time pixel user, I can say the experience on pixel is more polished streamlined and functional than any other android phone I've used.
@@squarewheel9113 That's why I moved to the Pixel 6 from the OnePlus series of phones. I've read about how good pixels are for years and I finally made the decision. I haven't had as many software issues as others. So far my experience on Pixel has been excellent.
At one point Google was allowing anyone to get the update by checking for the update in system settings. For some reason they have reverted back to their old ways.
