Picked my LR up 2 weeks ago. I'm so close to biting the bullet and upgrading to acceleration boost. Car is plenty fast already I can't imagine what the Acceleration boost will feel like
I bought my model 3 lr in June and did the acceleration boost in august and I wish i did it sooner. So much faster and lot more fun. Also remember you have 48 hours from the time you purchase the upgrade to refund it if you feel it’s not good enough :)
@@omerabdulaziz1112 congrats! You’ll love it! I don’t notice much affect on range, but it depends if you floor it everywhere you go haha i floor it a lot and go through quite a bit of range but if you drive it like a normal car and occasionally floor it, there isn’t such a drop in range! Also did you get 18’ or 19’ wheels?
The Performance Stealth was $2,000 more than the AWD long range, but also comes with track mode. The Stealth also has more horsepower than the acceleration boost.
Only reason I went with the model 3 performance was the breaks. Test drove both , and the LR really needs some better breaks. If I went with a LR , then paid 2k for boost , I would also still need to buy bigger breaks , some real summer tires / wheels and maybe even suspension. For that extra 5k tesla was charging at the time i went with the performance because the mods to a LR would be over that price easy. there is no way I would think about actually tracking the LR with the stock breaks/tires/suspension
Have you or had anyone recorded what the top speed of the Acceleration Boost adds to the Model3 LR? The Mid3 LR too speed is 145MPH, the Performance 3 tips out at 165MPH. So, what’s the Acceleration Boosted Model3 (wirh 18” wheels) top end?? Thank youu!
Great comparisons and simulations. Haven’t seen anything like this anywhere on these great cars. Only thing, figures should be from a standing start. Rollout is a slight cheat- not sure why it’s used apart from Tesla enhancing the performance numbers.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah it's true, but unfortunately most manufacturers/journalists report numbers with the first 1ft subtracted. And if I use those numbers, then more people will complain about cars being too slow :/ On our website (motormatchup.com/) we try to make a clear designation between 0-60 with 1ft subtracted and the actual 0-60 time.
@@MotorMatchup Fully understand why you used that data. I meant Tesla really and agree, you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. Great video though- really interesting viewpoint that looked very accurate. Thanks
Why do you subtract one foot rolling from the time? No other car manufacturer does this which means it’s difficult to compare numbers with other cars. I have the LR performance boost btw and am happy.
Actually pretty much all car magazines do this (subtracting 1foot rollout). So the numbers shown are in fact easier to compare to other cars reviewed by these magazines. Anyway I prefer looking at the 5-60mph which is much more telling of the vehicle’s abilities by removing launch control
GREAT VIDEO! AWESOME! TESLA ROCKS!!! NOW THE TESLA PLAID WHICH BEATS "NEARLY" EVER CAR ON EARTH WITH 1,025HP. ALL OF TESLA'S ARE LIGHTENING! SAVE ON GAS, INSURANCE, MAINTENANCE ETC...............
Interesting. So if AWD and AWD with Boost race to 60mph, the AWD would be roughly 1.5 car lengths behind after 3.48 seconds? I thought they'd be closer together. Thanks for video.
@@yusif958 You can buy the Ingenext boost 50 kit for $1200 and it's the exact same thing. I'm planning on doing that especially since if I sell the car I can keep the acceleration boost or sell it separately
Good video, gives a great first overview and comparison. I also did a comparison with the Boosted vs non boosted Long Range in real life. ua-cam.com/video/wWGClx4AJuc/v-deo.html I witness slight differences with your data: The boosted Long Range wont get under 3.6s 0-60mph. There is no one on the dragy leaderboard with those times. 0-100mph are quite accurate with my measurements though.
Sadly that Simulation doesn't seem to bee right. Seems that the Acceleration Boost doesn't change the acceleration above about 60mph, also the Perfomance Model isn't faster above 60mph than a LR without Boost. In this Simulation Performance and LR w ABoost have both all the way till their max rpm more power than the normal LR....
I did the boost on our long range. We love it and recommend doing the boost.

I’m also curious about range with boost. If it’s a huge decrease in range I’ll pass on it
I have the the acceleration boost on my LR totally recommend it , you also have 48 hrs after if you want to cancel it and they’ll give you a refund
Great visualization - nice simulator!
thanks for the visualizations

They should put a acceleration boost on the new P’s have em running at 500+ hp that would be beast
Wdym by stealth?
Great video man!! I'd like to see something like this with 'everyday' cars like 335i or Accord 2.0T, GTI etc. Thanks

Yes!
they really need to update the performance 3 to match the output of the Perfomance model y

How is this possible? After looking around I found out the performance has a better system that carries more current over to the motors
