  • Ukrainian soldiers bomb a Russian armoured vehicle driving along a quiet country lane.
    The 30th Mechanized Brigade, named after Prince Konstanty Ostrogski, a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, joked that the “demilitarization of the Russians continues” as the conflict enters its 97th day.
    The Ukrainian brigade said: “Stunning destruction of an enemy BMP with full ammunition! The demilitarisation of the Russians continues.”
    The footage shows an armoured vehicle winding along the country lane before apparently taking a direct hit and being blown to pieces.
    The Ukrainian military did not state where or when the strike took place.

    Looks like clever tactics to me. The early explosion appears to be a deliberate action to panic the crew into accelerating away from the potential ambush. Further down as others have noted the road has been dug up forcing the BMP to drive over the intended anti tank mine.

      Wow. And I was thinking, "get off the road, get off the road..."-I was thinking of using your mobility to keep moving, but across country to the right. Maybe the mines could have been avoided that way, maybe not-as here. Scary. Thete is no chance of any survivors there-and it might have just set a new record for the Ukrainian turret world series. So.. Serious question.,.who wants to be a Russian conscript? Tanker? C,mon man, don't all raise your hands at once. Bloody Putin. That's what they'll call him.

      @@rocketassistedgoat1079 in the longer version of this video, amazingly 3 survivors are seen in various forms of movement/pain. 2 on the left and 1 on the right hand side as seen from our point of view. Whether or not they survive their injuries, is another thing?

    One minute you are driving the BMP full speed, with fear in your heart, trying to make out alive, grip the steering wheel with sweaty hands, your heart is racing, your survival instincts kick in, adrenaline probably makes your body shiver a bit, you focus on the cover of trees to where you aim the roaring steel beast you were commissioned to drive, and then - NOTHING. The other second just does not exist anymore, this was the last moment of your life on Earth, that's all. Your friends, family, wife, children will mourn you, and then life will find its way without you. For what? For someone who does not even care about you, did not know you and even if he would - he would not even apologize for your death. Very sad. This goes for all fallen soldiers, both sides, furthermore all conflicts. It is all the time the poor, ordinary people who are either brainwashed, tricked or forced (in this order) into go and potentially kill others. On command of psychopaths. Rest in peace if you can and may God have mercy on your soul. :( I really hope this war ends as soon as possible.

      Nice to read another one who has the same opinion as me about this, your way of writing reminded me a bit of my own. I wrote something like:
      ”Why would someone be so stupid to throw away the most valuable thing, life itself, to sacrifice it for leaders who don’t care? Bad leaders, corrupt leaders… What are you fighting for? There will always be bad leaders on both sides before and after the war, and maybe the leaders of your enemy would even be better leaders for your country? Who cares about the flag? The language? The politics? As an individual you don’t have much you can change anyway, even in a democracy. Fight within the political system and make it implode without guns. This world is the result of many glorious men who have fought in many glorious wars, convinced that they were right, look at the mad world, was it worth it? You see democracy and welfare now, freedom and tolerance. Just you wait, this era won’t last forever. People always want more and they will create stories to justify their immoral actions to get more. As long as we don’t always fight against entropy we will always be conquered by chaos and there is too much egoism so the chaos will never be defeated. There is no political will so what are you fighting for?”

No one wants to be driving an ammo truck through territory patrolled by grizzled veterans in their 8th year of war. I am willing to bet if they have ten ammo trucks to deliver to the front, Russian leadership sends each alone, and by different routes. Better than losing them all in one ambush. (I wonder if Russian leaderships bans internet access to their troops in battle? Yeah, probably. Otherwise they would know which way the wind blows, and fight with more fear.)

    See EU is finally banning 2/3 of oil imports but needs to be 100%

    • @jackt6112
      @jackt6112 Рік тому

      With the EU there needs to be 100% to approve anything, which has its pros and cons. The pro is it preserves the country's integrity as a nation, not as a state. They have tried to morph into being a country like the USSR. They lost the UK due to laws that were in violation of UK societal values, and the EU even attempted to have their flag at the Olympics to slither into such recognition but were correctly denied. The con of 100% approval is it can leave it unable to act. Hungary, which says an oil embargo would be a body blow to its economy because it cannot easily get oil from elsewhere blocked it, and Slovakia and the Czech Republic have expressed similar concerns. So basically, it was either a rapid 2/3rds embargo, and no embargo. This does not mean that the other 1/3rd won't happen, it simply means those countries are not on board with it until they have a visible alternative within that time span. It is also a commitment by the other EU nations to possibly spend more in the short term for their energy needs. The EU can "salt the oats" to entice all member countries to lose Russia as an energy source by competitively disadvantaging them in their internal market which in effect moves moves their money and jobs to other members. Russia is a gas station with no economy. Even when it was at its peak, the US has cities with economies larger than all of Russia's 11 time zones put together. Russia has no money to wage anything without their energy sales to EU countries.
      Another situation like that is NATO with its Article 5 that everyone must commit to, to become a member. If ANY NATO country is attacked, ALL MUST PARTICIPATE in the war wherever it occurs under a central command. One reason for France refusing to be part of NATO from time to time is exactly that. France's position was that if Russia invaded France with conventional forces, that France refused to be limited from responding to Russia by a central command from going nuclear against Russia, and in fact guaranteed that they would. They also have a nuclear triad. Conversely, NATO membership also prevents any country from attacking another so as not to drag other NATO countries into their war. Thus, Putin's claim of NATO being a threat is laughable to all but the ignorant, and why he knew he was secure in invading Ukraine, of whom Germany blocked from joining NATO. You've noticed that Putin does not attack Poland through which many of Ukraine's arms are supplied through, even though it that makes it is legitimate target by wartime standards. These factors are what drive countries to join or not join NATO. Support for joining NATO for Sweden and Finland has gone from 19% before the war, to 67% after the war. The people of both Finland and Sweden have now witnessed that simply being nice works about as well today as it did during WW II when Russia and Germany conspired together to start that war. The reason for NATO's rapid expansion is Putin's aggression. Without the UK, US, and France, all of these nations would be nuclear, as was Ukraine before being guaranteed security by the US, UK, and Russia. However, being a member of NATO also means that if Russia attacks Poland, Finland agrees to be used to be part of a the NATO command that would involve attacking Russia directly on land, sea, and air. Finland has conventional forces that are easily better than Russia's, but they have no desire to be Finlandized again. Becoming a member of NATO renders benign any attempt by Russia at the Russification of border areas through Russian surrogates driving out people and leaders to provide a pretext of a civil war in those areas as occurred in the Donbas.
