      So from what I saw this week they have had two main goals. 1. Quality Improvements 2. Increasing Production
      Seems like everyone at the factory is working 15hr days and super focused on making the boats better and better. I was giving feedback and they were super interested to listen. I toured their new factory which is massive and they will be controlling the entire production process themselves from it so no outsourcing. I left Poland with the feeling that these guys are going to be very successful in 2023. When I actually get time I’ll film an update on the 320GTO because it’s so much better now with the new roof and other improvements 👏
      I’m just struggling for time at the moment with a lot of people asking me to visit them so I can’t give a date yet

      I’ve seen a couple of 2022 320 GTC and GTO up close and the finish is dreadful. Sealant snotty, poor fibreglass finish, rub rail not straight/ symmetrical, leaky cabin door on a GTC, rust on the bow name plate and the beat goes on.
      Following all the fantastic reviews on performance and equipment I was so disappointed when I saw one up close.
      I hope they have their act together now is it seems like a great boat.

    Very impressive, Dan. And a lot more of a 'tour' than I was expecting, since there's a lot more boat than is initially apparent. You mentioned fuel economy twice but offered no specifics. For those 'slow cruise 27' and 'fast cruise 33' speeds, can you share fuel figures? Once again, nice job!

    Thanks Dan for this great video. I am looking for a commuter, 60 Nautical Miles in the Med one way. I am looking for a day boat with a room for two for emergency overnighting ( bad weather mainly) . Being 6'2", I have a real problem with the height of the TTop on the Saxdor 270 GTO ( 2X200 Merc). Room in the Axopar 290 is not a good option to shelter kids or even anyone from bad weather ( access through front door not at all practical / claustrophobic with closed door). There is one boat which checks almost all the boxes, i.e. the Nimbus T9X in its 2X 225 Merc configuration . The general feeling reading different sea tests , including yours, is that the Nimbus might be a bit sluggish, less sporty / fun, precise than the Saxdor /Axopar I named. Would you or anyone comment on the following question, is the Nimbus not too much of a reasonable choice compared to those fancy looking/ fun to drive, new generation boats coming from Poland?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  5 місяців тому

      G'day Michel, the Nimbus is the highest quality build out of the 3 choices but with a 300Hp felt sluggish yes. If you can get one with a V10 400Hp this would resolve that in my opinion. 2 x 225 also an option but I feel power to weight ratio on a V10 may serve you better.

      Yep I believe this will be one of the top selling boats of 2023 from what I saw today. Possibly re a 350hp but i reckon I could get 46... maybe 47kts in salt water and I do love the power to weight ratio of those Merc's so for me personally i'd probably still sway on the 300 Merc's side. Hi Dan, your best vid to date for me, well done! I love this boat - when will you be able to review one properly in Sydney outside the heads? (I’m really keen to see what the compromises are in handling in moderate seas vs an Axopar 28, given it looks like a more substantial boat). Also on Facebook and in non-English videos on UA-cam I can see another hard-top version of the T-top as well as a ‘dual lounge’ option (no wet bar), roof rack option mentioned, clears shown etc (all things I’d prefer) but the Saxdor website has nothing about any of these, cheers, Martin

      If a 270 arrives in Sydney before April i'll be able to get it done for you guys. After April i'll be bouncing between Sydney and the Northern Hemisphere testing boats so it might be somewhere else. But I do plan to get one out in the ocean as I know this is important to a lot of you guys.
      I sold Axopar's for 5yrs before starting this channel and have 100's of hrs driving them including the 28 (MK I & II). The Axopar will be a hard hull to beat offshore but they are getting up there in price now which opens the door to competitors. I think from what I felt on the flat water the 270 feels like she could be the closest competitor to the Axopar in terms of rough water performance, however I really need to test it before I can confirm that.
      Regarding the other designs I can't confirm or deny as a lot of the factories are sharing their designs with me so do not want to break the trust. I will ask and post to my community page when I get an answer.

      Seriously impressive. It's the best driving boat of this style I've tested so far (in this size range). Re the davit crane i did not see any lift points and I'm 99% sure the answer would be that you'd need slings. I'll ask the factory guys however and leave a comment here if I'm wrong. @@BoatLife_DansBoatLife I appreciate the reply Dan. I have been looking for a boat in the length and weight range as a tender and it would be perfect if it has lifting points. The concept of “it doesn’t need” is frustrating for those of us who are coming from much, much faster boats and want to be able to take advantage when the conditions allow. These hull designs, Saxdor and Axopar are perfectly capable of operating in the 55knot range and I would consider this Saxdor over the comparable Axopar it it could be spec’d with a Merc 400R like the Axopar 28 can be. Just because a boat can do 50knots+ doesn’t mean it can’t operated very efficiently in the 30 - 40 knot range all day long or in rough seas. Just CE/USCG spec the max HP to 400 and let the owner decide. Unless, of course, the construction is compromised to save money and can’t support that level of performance. BTW “really fast” is not 40 Knots, it’s more like 80 knots. 50 knots would be best described as “brisk” 😎

And seeing the cars in front of me, felt like i was driving to a parking lot. Every car around me looked like they was stopped along the highway as i passed them traveling much more than twice their speed. There was no thrill of a teenage boy, it was all focus and stay tucked below the small fairing. When i slowed down and pulled into a rest stop, i could finally process what happened.
