I rated each category before playing yours, James....and we were totally in sync. But...I don't think your categories do justice to how well the helm & instrumentation - the operational heart of any boat - is done. This one was really excellent in that regard and deserved a point or two more. Your 'cost & rating' section makes your reviews special and worthwhile.

Absolutely top notch review again ,having had my ex wife (bless)extract a lovely among items a beautiful Fairline etc , l have a similar vessel in an Axopar stylee as l had to restart in a rib. These vessels are pure fun and extremely versatile and smile factor warp 10 only downside is the lack of gin glass storage.

A nice review that at least starts to include most running costs, although I did not see an annual haul out, pressure wash and antifouling cost!.....I also think you have under estimated depreciation.
It is good to see that Sakari Mattila and his team seem to take note that most boats of this size are "mobile picnic platforms" which spend most of their time at anchor and thus it is sooo important as to how the owner, his family and friends can actually use the boat at anchor is way more important than any seldome used top speed of more than 30 or so knots. Jon A, now boating in the Balearics, with experience in the UK, Caribbean & Florida PS The orange seats are a No No anywhere except Northern Europe

A lot o f boat for your buck James. Especially if out compare it to the biggest one of those little jet runabouts made of bike tubes wot you sell. 😁. And you need a huge boat to put them in. Big shout roof in place of a window too. 👍

I’m always intrigued by the finance cost. How many people would buy a boat such as this, or one up to 500k using finance? I think that general running costs excl finance are quite high for boating anyway so if you’ve not got the cash to buy outright, will you have sufficient disposable income to cover the normal running costs plus finance costs? Especially when interest rates for marine loans are pushing 10%.

    • @Boatscouk
      @Boatscouk  Рік тому +2

Hi Andrew- typically about 10-20% of the 20 boats we sell per month are sold on finance . Sometimes people have the cash but have a better use for it 😀

If I had the cash I'd probably still finance... the reason I can take a chunk of what the boat costs and use it for the down payment with the rest of the money I can invest it.. easy example you can get a condo for 140k rent it out for 2k a month and use $1,600 for the cost of the boat the rest can go into a savings account for the maintenance and gas and now you have secured your 140k while also making enough for the monthly payments

    Whilst your cost James
are one way of doing it
    there are others.
    Boats are usually bought
when you have spare cash, not on tick, therefore the loss is of income.
Moorings can be much cheaper when less convenient. Swinging moorings can still be in the £100s a year in some places, and pontoon berths where you need a dinghy to get to them circa £4 to 5K.
    Serving and winterising of
engines can easily be done by the owner for a few hundred a year.
Polishing back is not needed every year, and can again be done by the owner. A wax polish yearly can again be easily done.
On the higher side E5 fuel from a fuel dock is often more than the figure, and E5 is really a necessity.

Great Review ❤ Very nice Weekender for someone Not me though as it's too short and lacks a Mast and Sails plus two Bathrooms with Sit Down Showers and nowhere to Cook a great meal or a nice big Saloon Table to seat Friends and Family around and plonk Food and Drinks onto out of the Weather. I know, Im a Fussy old Fart like that. These are great Fun to have Boats though, and it reminds me performance wise of the Offshore Powerboat I helped an old Boss to fully Renovate which had a Humungous Outboard on the back of it. Great Days in my seriously misspent Youth, when 4 star Petrol was under 78p a Gallon, and the Environment and Climate was Flourishing nicely on it. Ho Hum, Nostalgia ain't what it used to be . Best Wishes. Bob in Wales still. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️

It's a wierd boat. Got some very neat features, yet it has some strange solutions, and appear flimsy, imo. Like the aft sunpad has gaps from the backrests that lay on the table. Terrible. And the aft gates are very flimsy. However, I do understand Saxdor to be a cheaper Axopar. I'm a litle sceptical of a boatbuilder who seems to just create new brands all the time tho...
