The joke about everyone finding hunters voice annoying got a chuckle out of me. Also I noticed Owlbert got cracked while the group was in the chasm. Making me believe Owlbert might die in a later episode, and before you say he healed after getting cracked in escape of the palisman the cracks were filled with light this time. Which leads me to believe thats permanent damage to a palisman.

Hunter's palisman might not be in immediate danger, Lilith has a palisman and Belos never tried to take hers. He still could be in danger going by Hunter's reaction but if Rascal is useful to the Emperor as Hunter's palisman he might be safe till the finally or whenever Belos is ready to use Hunter.

hunter is way more personally connected to belos though. it makes sense that other witches in the emperors coven have palismen, it wouldnt really make sense for them to be banned considering how wildly accepted and used they are. but hunter is definitely a special case, and belos seems to specifically want hunter far away from any wild magic, perhaps at least as a way of controlling what hunter does and doesnt know and has to rely on belos more.

If you think about it, every action Hunter does is genuinely authentic. He begs Amity to let him go since he doesn’t want to be replaced, which is true. He then proceeds to double cross her and tell her he getting the Titan Blood for Bellos, which is also true

I feel hopeful that Hunter will eventually see the light (Or Luz, if you will, heh) just like Amity did. But seeing him struggle to do the right thing is hard to watch, especially when you remember how under his uncle’s thumb he is. Poor kid needs to be adopted into the Clawthorne family already.

When you look at Amity's Outfit for the episode, you see a bottle where she keeps her abomination goo around her waist. This gave me so much Katara Waterbending vibes since the two share the same voice actress Mae Whitman and it's there you can see the flowing animation that was used in the fight between Amity and Hunter!

Personally, I don't think we have enough information on Hunter and his backstory to confirm his status as clone or no clone. On the one hand, Hunter saying that Belos "found" him could potentially cycle into Hunter having actually just been created as a clone or Grimmwalker or whatever, and Belos feeding him a story to motivate him with personal connections and manipulations. However, there's also just the chance that all of that shit can be thrown out the window, as Dana tends to do with the conventional. But clone or no clone, the one thing for certain is that the book and Grimmwalker pages are an immediate Chekhov's Gun

Belo’s ears are way smaller than everyone else’s in the show. I think that he used to have rounded ears but he later cut them up so they would appear pointed. Thus his ears are small because they were purposely damaged.

These are my two favorite characters!!! Although in the fight, I feel like in they both wouldn't come to a stalemate anyways, since Hunter took out an entire room of coven witches without his staff, exhausting him. But from the way Amity was kicking ass, I can assume that if they two fought again in perfect settings, they would always come to an equal stalemate.

Everyone expected Belos to be Philip, which has lead to people considering it “too obvious” of a backstory for him and speculating that he is instead a descendant of Philip. Honestly, though, I prefer the theory that he is Philip himself and just cut his ears to match the witches (notice we only ever saw his right ear), since it, however predictable, holds a lot more emotional and thematic weight. Philip would be a dark reflection of Luz, a human who stumbled into the Boiling Isles and “became a witch” despite possessing no natural magic, but somewhere he went wrong, overtook the Isles, and became…Emperor Belos. He’s been to Earth because he’s from there, and I’m sure he misses it as much as Luz does, even if his intent isn’t just to return home. If he was just a descendant of Philip who heard stories of Earth from his ancestors, where would the thematic resonance be? That’s even more important than being surprising. But what do I know? Belos could be anyone! Also yeah I like the theory a lot that Hunter is a clone. Totally dope.

Belos could have just cut his ears to try and convince people he was a witch and gets his powers through a curse or something. Or maybe he's just a clone of Philip and Hunter is the original Philip's ancestor. (Edit: after watching the latest episode I'm convinced that hunter is in someway related to Philip's brother ~this ties in with the statue of the two boys who went missing, most likely Philip from what we can make out visually, and the time period lines up so I'm just gonna say it's him, and his brother. Who resembles Hunter and could possibly be who hunter descendents from. Meanwhile belos closely resembles Philip(or just is Philip) thus why hunter calls him uncle because in a blurred way he's a copy of his real nephew that Phil's brother had with a witch while in the isles. Confusing I know but I'm too tired to explain more and I'm sure some other theorist is already making a video explaining something similar only putting it in a way sounds far better XD)

my theory is that so much exposure to magic and the "consumption" of all the palismen slowly modified his body, as his ears are smaller and less pointed than regular witch ears. (i get this idea from inheritance cycle because human riders become more elf-like over time) another theory is that Belos is the son of Philip and a which, making him a hybrid- allowing him to be capable of magic, but he needs a source which he gets from the palismen.

I think Bellos and Hunter are clones of Phillip that are altered to be more witch like. Each clone gets closer to a full witch but still remain somewhat human. That’s why hunter still doesn’t have magic and why Bellos’ ears look like a mix of human and witch ears.

Im kinda made sad by how much people are dismissing Hunter :(. Dude had to basically improvise all his fighting due to switching from artificial to real magic, was mentally exhausted and panicked and also had to deal with King. and STILL MANAGED TO PUT UP A FIGHT. No shde to amity im sure Hunter would have been able to beat most other Witches but I kinda find it sad that Hunters whole breakdown is about him not being good enough when the whole fandom begins overshadowing him with Amity’s (still amazing) performance.

I think Belos may have been a child of Phillip, at one point Phillip decides to show his family the human realm, but when they arrive there with all their magic and such, the Wittebanes are labeled as witches and killed or driven back to the BI. Belos survives, either with a sibling if Hunter is actually his nephew, or alone.

This is my prediction for Belos: He was born a powerless witch, like Hunter because he was a descendant of Philip. But why does he have is outbreaks? I think its because he used a certain type of magic to give him powers, something like how Lilith cursed Eda. But it had a side effect, the outbreaks. The one thing I didn’t like about the episode is that they said girlfriend a tad too much and yeah it was only like 3-4 times but it didn’t feel natural to me like how a couple would act and I get they just started dating so they’re in that phase where they love each other so much but it just threw me off a bit to hear them mention being girlfriends instead of letting it flow without saying the their title so much

It felt natural to me because Amity was excited, they both were. They’re 14 and it’s probably their first relationship. Amity was also set on proving she was “an awesome girlfriend” so she was probably trying to prove that to herself too, because she never been someone’s girlfriend before so she’s not 100% sure she is.
