Everyday's a good day when I see a Drumeo video featuring Jared. Nothing against the other members of course, but I personally find his videos the most instructives, and I like his accent!
Hey Jared, great video, but I think you've missed the point of 'The Illusion Of Speed'. Its not about the tempo or the amount of strokes, its the 'cleanness' how you play them. The cleaner the better, then they will sound faster than they actually are.
hi Jared! thanks to get us portuguese Brazil's subtitle! It's Very Nice you work with drum. I'm so thankfull for you lessons and I wish sucess for you! Maybe one day we play drums together lol! (and please, forgive my english 😅)
New to this channel, Jared videos have been my first stop so far, just browsing around. I have to say... you rock, Jared! I especially Love how you demand your students to get to their kit and practice... now! And some might think that's funny, but it's so true. I've been gigging live for most of my life and when people would say things like "You're a natural", I'd correct them and say that nothing comes for free. It took a LOT of work to get good, and we can't just stop there, can we? Anyway, you do some really nice lessons, Jared. I haven't seen any other videos here yet but yours are great. I never had lessons (for drums, at least) growing up so I learned everything by ear, which is crazy for drums. I think I might find it refreshing to start up a new regiment and just keep pushing myself. Okay... I'll stop talking now and get to my kit!
Great exercise! I've been working on this kind of thing again for the past couple months and it's made my playing and balance around the kit a lot more precise. Reminds me of one of the sections in Derek Roddy's book on blast beats. Only then using the left foot as well to do opposing stickings (footings?) on the feet. I'm still pretty loose with those ones but it's a fun way to expand this!
Good Job Jared You have been Practicing and it paid off..Great to see how the drummers you have on the show have helped you improve,Mike Mangini Rhythm knowledge Books were the first to cover this. Also Check out Vuk Vukovich he does this at Crazy speeds..
Good exercise. Just a quick observation. On your Purdie lesson, he has said the "trick" is to not wear sneakers. He suggested leather sole shoes. Jared, I've never seen you try. Have ya? I gitta say, I did, and it DEFINITELY helps with bith speed, accuracy, and a smooth feel. Just wondering if ya tried? I know Mr Purdie has a very unique style if teaching. Speed is a great tool, but Purdie has done how many recorded tracks??? He is all groove, and in very rare occasions will put something quick in. I know this has nothing to do w/that lesson, but ince again, I saw the rubber, and wanted to see if you tried. It does work w/your heel toe method, but even smoother, just not as fast

That last demonstration of the vocab played around the kit was very nice and a great basis for a solo.
Great series, I am really enjoying this and it helps so much! Thank you for all of your hard work!

thank you!!
The last 5 seconds was my favourite bit.... now stop typing youtube comments!
What specific drum set and bass pedal are you playing
His kick beater is above the hitting circle on the base drum
this seems like a Zach Hill technique as well
Special beater there? Looks like it's hardly coming back. You have special setting to play these variations faster?
just like forearm crusher but with bass
Excuse me teacher.i like to ask you something...How can i buy the DRUMEO's T-shirt?
