Happy to hear you enjoy the channel! It's unlikely that we'll upload more than twice a week on special occasions, usually sticking with a Saturday upload schedule.
Nice video as always. Only reason I didn't replace my Futura after a crash is because I prefer to run larger batteries in my 80 sized jets. I also have several other 80 sized good sport jets so I don't miss it too much.
Any reason why you'd prefer larger batteries? We personally don't care what batteries it takes, so long as the batteries chosen help the jet perform well. Though everyone has their preferences!
Loving your content, great 👍 flying Ace. Have you considered getting into Turbines, or larger scale EDFs…? I would also like to recommend the recently released 92” Legend Hobby Savage Bobber ARF, looks super scale. Would love to see you create a Powerful Monster Bobber.
Great flying. I wish I knew what provides airflow over the control surfaces of an EDF in high alpha. Unless you had a bit of headwind during those passes, they must have been a superhuman balancing act, because control authority must have been next to zero. Respect.
Thanks John. Awesome as always. Since you flew most of the FMS jets, which 80mm do prefer: futura vs integral vs BAE howk vs Sabre vs any other. Would lot to know your thoughts. Thanks
Hi Jon, awesome video on the Futura. I have just got the FMS viper 90, and I use to have the FMS Futura V2. Do you feel there are any real differences between the two sports jets? Which do you prefer (I know the FMS viper is the same as the E flite one). Thanks-Ant
They're very similar except that the Viper 90 is a bit more stable up until it begins to stall and drop a wing, while Futura is less difficult to recover in that scenario. Futura is also significantly less expensive. It's usually a question of affordability rather than capability as they're both really good for the price point.
The archive shots use the 5280 unit, the latest shots use the KMRC burner setup. Definitely recommend the KM system as it's got a much smoother throttle response with no lag time.
Taking a year off for a little chemo/radiation treatment and the best 60 pound weight loss diet in 3 months, I got to do a lot of thinking about favorite jets, what I’d do with certain jets if I didn’t die and listing my favorite jets in order- 1) Futura 80mm 2) Viper 90mm 3) Freewing 90mm F-22 4) Freewing T-33 5) Freewing Me-262 6) FMS 70mm a-10 7) FMS 80mm Bae Hawk 8) Eflite 70mm F-16 9) Freewing L-39 10) XFly xt-7a I built the 15th anniversary FMS Viper and the 64mm Futura after chemo/radiation. (Worst 2 1/2 months of my life. Vomiting every hour. Kinda to the fun out of the build. I looked like a monkey and the proverbial football with a tool in my hand) You have no idea how much fun this sport is until it suddenly taken away. I’ve started flying again, the powered glider types (Conscendo) and think I’m ready to get the jets out. No question the first jet I’ll fly will be the 80mm Futura, followed by the 90mm Viper. What’s weird is I’ve gone to the FMS, MotionRC and the Eflite websites and I feel like I haven’t missed out on anything. None of the “Big 3” have come out with anything that feels like a “Must Have”. Good to watch your channel again.
Hey, good to see you again man! Happy to hear you're feeling better, too. If you want to chat with other fans of the channel in real-time and share your story, hop on Discord with us via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord Since you want the Futura, do consider picking it up via bit.ly/Futura80 using the code FMS2NR to save 5% on it. Should help get the costs down for ya. When you're ready for the Viper, this link will help support what we do: bit.ly/45w8mFE
this looks like it lands a lot easier than the viper to land right? does it feel like that? like it flares and really slows down, where the 70 mm viper always looks like its doing a 3 point landing
The answer is, unfortunately, "it depends." Viper is a solid platform. Futura is a better jet at most things that Viper can do, especially landing, but only if you're flying it on a lightly loaded wing. If you add 5k batteries or above, it'll fly poorly. 3600 to 4400 packs handle very well overall with minimal negatives aside from slightly reduced flight time.
@TwoBrosRC OK I understand 👍 I personal switch tho Freewing because FMS got no spareparts on stock (EU) verry happy with my decision afterwards. Love your videos
I fly with gyros. I also fly without gyros. Just happens to be whichever receiver that I happen to have open at the moment. I will say I prefer the gyros for more high performance models.
I personally don't fly with gyros cuz I learned to fly before they existed about 20 years ago. Plus I have a cheap FlySky radio so I can't use it anyways lol. I'm in my late 20s. And I don't mind if people use gyros. I just don't see the need for them when I fly.
Love your videos on jets they are the best for me , please more videos I know it’s not easy but I really appreciate your channel, thank you 😊

One day I want to dive into the design of these RC jets, to really see what lets them do what they do.
Planform, wing loading, control surfaces, all of it plays a large role.
Great review thanks Ray NZ

Finally ordered another but not to fly yet it may be getting thrust vectoring in it but I’m not saying nothing
11 months late to this video, I'm assuming someone already won the free t-shirt for a low high-alpha pass?
Actually, not sure! Doubtful, but ping us on Discord if you've managed it!
@@TwoBrosRCmight have to take this as a challenge then…

We'll definitely be looking into turbines and whatnot in the distant future. Thanks!

There's still control authority, it's just reduced due to the lower airspeed.
Of course, but that remnant is a just square root function of airspeed, so you'll see how good you are if you do the math.
Thanks John. Awesome as always. Since you flew most of the FMS jets, which 80mm do prefer: futura vs integral vs BAE howk vs Sabre vs any other. Would lot to know your thoughts. Thanks
Futura is our personal choice overall in the 80mm sport jet range for the reasons you see in this vid.
@@TwoBrosRC thanks a lot. 👍 wish you the best.

That afterburner makes it look sooo much better.
Still the 5280 bluefire or that new brew you are using?

What jets/planes have gotten a perfect score? I’ve only been subbed for a short time.
The EC-1500 and Rafale 80mm if memory serves.
So I guess an obvious question would be what’s better the futura vs Integral at aerobatics ??
Depends on the aerobatics you're interested in. Futura is our overall pick.
I’m struggling between this b” big “ Futura and the Avanti 80 from Free wing because I love my Avanti 70 from FMS :)))
Futura is a better looking and flying jet in our view.
@@TwoBrosRC thank you! But I think the Avanti maybe excels on grass handling (?) I love my Avanti 70 over my Futura 64. So I’m in doubt 🤣
Is there anyway you could fo one of your awesome fair reviews of the FMS 70mm Avanti?
Nah, it's not really our style of jet - not something we'd purchase. If Motion sends it, we'll definitely do a vid on it though.

Are u gonna review tge flexjet tv?
Probably not for a long time.
You can only have one. The Futura 80mm or the viper 90mm... Which would you choose?
That's a hard choice that we fortunately don't have to make, but we don't own the Viper right now so at the moment it'd have to be Futura.
@@TwoBrosRC my question was aimed to know which one you like better as you've tried both.
I own both and personally the Viper 90mm has the edge slightly
Hi. A 5000 mah would be too nose heavy. I have a bunch of them for my 700 sizes helis, which is why I ask.
It definitely would fly nose heavy and be more prone to stalling with that weight.
Thanks. I had a Avanti 70 and it tended to nose down in flight. I suspect that would also happen here.
⚡️⚡️Freewing Avanti.S.V2 ⚡️⚡️
Not really our style.
@TwoBrosRC OK I understand 👍
I personal switch tho Freewing because FMS got no spareparts on stock (EU) verry happy with my decision afterwards.

YEAH DONT FLY WITH A GYRO PAL IM A REAL MAN I DONT USE THEM- some old guy somewhere probably
I don't use them for 3d but literally every turbine jet has a cortex or some form of high end gyro
