Thank you.
🇬🇧
You're welcome.
Awesome job guys 👍🏻
Nice flight Dave!!!!
Thank you my friend. I didn't mean to dethrone you But oh well, I'm fast Dave now.😂
Thanks Fred! We gotta get you flying a jet now.
Nice flying, Mid-Freddy!
👍😁
Excellent video!, good information, simple and easy, just the right information I need. Thanks!. I like it without too much talking. 👊. I bought mine yesterday night.
Have fun with it. It's a very nice model.
Great review John and Dave. That plane looks amazing. Handles pretty good too like it's on rails
Good way to characterize how it feels in the sky. Like flying a laser beam.
It is very solid I like it a lot
I appreciate the slow speed flying so I can gage how/when the plane stalls and how slow an approach I can do on landing.
Glad you got a 5000 mah in there because those and 6000 are what I have and has been holding me off on the Futura. When it's in stock again, I'm picking one up.
Yeah, I did not get a chance to do all the stuff I wanted to do with it. I never even flew it as slow as I wanted to nor did I stalled it as I wanted to. but time creeped up on me faster than I thought. It was time to land. it is a well-behaved EDF jet. That is for sure. I'm gonna enjoy this.
I forgot to mention in the review: I did have to open a hole in the base of the canopy for the 5000. Very easy to do with an exacto and not visible due to the opaque canopy.
Yeah, I am not a big fan of EDF jets myself. But there are a few out there that got my attention And this is one of them and it did not disappoint. once I figure out a little more endurance ,Time in the air to do some maneuvers I am going to enjoy this plane a lot. This one is a keeper. You will see this one on a video later on for sure.
Alright, you saw it here folks: Dave said he would bring a jet to the field!
@RCVideoReviews Yes, I am working on reverse thrust or breaks. Because they are somewhat Helpful and cool, and also on how to increase My flight time a little bit. Maybe a 9 blade fan unit would be my choice. I rather sacrifice cool sound for flight time but that is just me. I would like to get upwards of five or six minutes of flight time We'll see. It flies very well as is anyways. Wait until I have a few flights under my belt And you'll see.😎😁
I fly the Futura V2 (the first plane I set up on my T16S Mk2 with John's awesome tutorials). I know there have been some changes in the V3, but I think both can absolutely be flown by a beginner EDF flyer. I fly off a rough grass strip and the small wheels handle that with ease (although sometimes the front retract gets stuck and I have to do a quick cycle then it's fine). It's very stabile in the air, even without a gyro, and the V3 should be a little easier to see given the red (or green) schemes. Just check each flap extends at the same rate during set up, otherwise you're going to have a little roll bias. The wings will do a little rocking at low speed if you keep it floating too long over the strip, but with practice you can avoid that. All very easy obstacles to overcome.
No matter what anyone says about this plane, it definitely flies straight. Thanks for sharing your field report.
I used your link to get the 1400mm Pitts John, $309 is a good deal for that beautiful airplane. I've also had the V3 Futura since it came out last year, it's an excellent airframe and fly's amazing, just watch out for flying it too slow with the flaps down while in a bank and yank turn, as it will easily stall and corkscrew into the ground.
I believe you. I saw an aggressive stall flaps up and a little twist for good measure. So 100% on board with that assessment.
OH! And have fun with your new Pitts. That plane really grew on me after 7 flights. By the end of the day, Dave and I were both flying the pattern doing touch and go's and I got it to land around 5mph with ~6' rollout. It's a very easy spirited plane to fly.
👍👍👍🖖✈️ Good stuff John and Dave
Thank you very much🙂
Yup, thanks!
Mix in some crow, helps slow it better
Good flights, my buddy got 127mph on his 80mm Futura.
Wow. We didn't approach that speed.
Hi Dave, how did you get voltage telemetry? I didn't think the Futura came with a smart ESC.
I use ELRS receivers which have VBAT support to 30v. So all of my planes get voltage as part of the Rx.
Nice!!
:) Thanks!
I'm hoping someone at FMS can answer my question, I have also left an email with customer service. I need a couple parts for the for the FMS 80mm futura. The canopy latch lock pin that locks the canopy in place has broke where the pin comes out of the top of the plane. I need that same spring loaded pin, and Probably the housing that goes around it which is connected to the plane. I'm not sure how to even repair this without damaging the craft because that housing needs to be replaced I'm sure. If someone can get me headed in the right direction I would appreciate it. I've looked everywhere for this entire part, but so far I can only find the hatch lock with the spring, but Need the correct size, comes in many sizes.
A snow friendly plan sea plane?
Snow? Dunno where I'm gonna get snow. Seaplane as in no floats, but boat hull? Maybe look at the Hobbyking Skipper XL or the original Northstar.
@RCVideoReviews Oh I forgot you're down in Florida. No up here last year I seen a guy taken a sea plane off in the snow. Instead of water it was pretty neat. I think he overpowered it so it would jump right up.
Sooo ... when is it going to be in stock for the rest of us??
I asked FMS when they sent this one. Here is their reply: "The 80mm Futura is expected to be back in stock around November 25th"
@@RCVideoReviews great news .... Can you ask them to bring back the green color scheme?!?!
Don't have that kind of influence with FMS :) Sorry.
hey John, how did you connect the reflex and the EPW6? Sbus? how did you deal with the ch 5 mode switching?
setting id, and 200 power didn't allow the mode to switch for me via sbus
You have to ignore arming. Set Dynamic power to something comfortable like 250mw and then use 16/2 mode which makes Ch5 proportional and you can use it for mode.
@@RCVideoReviewsFound it... This Reflex v2 mode is on CH7.. TY though.
Only for planes with retracts. For others it's on Ch5.
How fast are you? 15:45
Covered @9:15
@@RCVideoReviewsWay to go "Weak Sauce"! 😅
Right?
