It's interesting. I've met Fred Kerley. I volunteered at the 2023 Budapest World Championships, and there was a major mix-up regarding entrance to the training track. He appeared at the volunteer's entrance - alongside a lot of other athletes, the information was given so badly - with his manager. He was quiet, humble, kind even. It was his manager that was an arse. So I was so taken aback at that post. In person, even when he was so clearly wronged, he proved to be respectful and down to earth. Honestly, this is wild to me.
I trained over 3 years in the same training camp as Fred at altis in Phoenix Arizona. At this time he was running the 400m. I often talked to Fred , he is exactly how you said , such a friendly cool humble guy who loves to compete .He is an absolute monster as an athlete ,hey can train so hard without breaking down. Crazy dude. I am a big fan of him also because of his great personality !
Looking back at that meet, Kerley was burning bridges. A meet sponsored by ASICS and Kerley headlining and being ASICS top sprinter, yet he shows up in Pumas and completely dropped the ball. I don't blame ASICS for cutting him the very next day. Which honestly was a blessing in disguise for him as he started running better as soon as he stopped wearing ASICS lol
From my observation, Fred doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that makes impulsive decisions. I believe he knows every move he is going to make well beforehand.
God, I am so sick about Kelvin Kiptum! I was so looking forward to following his career. Oh....and Kerley is physically incapable of running a 9.57. There I said it.
No kidding. We have yet to see the athlete who is able to challenge that world record. The 200 is another matter. That might be within striking distance in the next few years.
@@xcbaby123it's mathematically impossible, 9.58 has near perfect splits. Tell me with a straight face that Fred can get to 60m in 6.31 or faster. Then he has to match Bolt's 60-100. Not happening

The funny thing is Bolt could've ran faster. He celebrates closer to the line, doesn't dip and doesn't have the best start so with all that considered it'll take someone else of that calibre to simply put on that show. Thankfully Bolt didn't go all out to ensure that his record would never be broken one day.
Track is probably the toughest sport. You can be the track equivalent of Kobe Bryant, yet you’ll be considered a failure merely because you did not beat Bolt.
Maybe the false start mentally and physically threw him off so much he knew he wouldn't run his best. I have only run long distances but I can only imagine that in a race measured in seconds, unlike a longer one, it's hard to recover and regroup from something unexpected at the start.
I heard he said: "it‘s possibly a WR"... Thats okay to think it's possible, right? And, there was this politician who made it popular to say this and then do that... and he gets still a lot of voters. ;-)
Kerley made a fool out of himself. If he had just said that he will run a personal best, that would have been enough. Say he ran a 9.74. I would have been impressed.

Yes. In the early days of global competitions when people were still innovating, people could get a big world record but it would not last long. Now that the improvements get slower, a good world record could last a lot longer on a smaller margin. Bolt's record has both, margin and longevity.

Greatest race I've seen is David Rudisha 800M world record. Every participant in that race set either a new world record, national record, junior world record, personal record, meeting record it was a great race 💯
I thought he was referring to a planned training session where he would have a car with a trailer in front of him to reduce the air resistance, like Lamont Jacobs does in some of his trainings. Obviously that can make for faster times and I wouldn't be surprised if he managed a 9.57 under those conditions, but you're not gonna have that on race day. And as of right now, I don't think he's anywhere close to officially breaking Bolt's WR. Maybe he can do a 9.72 next year with good execution if he's in good shape, and I expect him to be a threat at the world championships, but the World Record is going to stand for many more years.
Perplexed? If you've ever run in a competition, a start like that will destroy whatever happens next: perfection immediately leaves the room. Been there.
Noah Lyles said something similar in the past. And we're still waiting for this record breaking run. Because they say this kind of stull don't mean anything
Played football and ran track against Fred, also partied with him a few times in High School. He’s not a bad guy, annoying seeing people talk about him like he’s a scrub. One of the the few athletes to go under 44,20,10 seconds in the 400,200,100. Personally I think he should have kept running the 400m though.

It is enough to believe that you have a chance at breaking it. And it does not have to be the next event. You could just say "It is my ambition to break Bolt's 100m record one day".
The saddest part about this WR for me is that Bolt could have ran faster. This WR requires perfection from start to finish for anyone else, but for Bolt this WR definitely wasn''t a perfect race. We'll just never know ...
In my opinion he false started on purpose, so he won't be embarrassed about he's twitter delusional statement. And because that didn't work, he retired after being reinstated in the race. What an embarrassment... 🤦🏻
Makes me think of my brother responding to my best friend who'd just deadlifted 720lbs. My brother, who has never worked out a day in his life, said i can deadlift 720 too! Then proceeded to pick up 2, 30 packs of beer. He deadlifted 720oz. I can definitely run a 9.57 100m. 9 minutes 57 seconds. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

To break Bolts records you need a near clone that is as tall or close with a slightly faster stride rate while having a comparable stride length, and probably 200 lb or less (to make that possible) and with a quicker reaction time. So 9.55 from the NEXT BOLT!
I've never been more embarrassed in my life - competing at the very fringes of human performance but failing to achieve possibly the most impressive physical feat in history exactly when he said he would on twitter. What a massive loser unlike me, the smart computer man.
I mean you could talk like this is you were prime bolt, gaye, Blake, Powell or even gatlin but other than those guys within 3-4 tenths of the WR, you really should be putting up standout times to be saying this
I might be as delusional as him, but Every time Fred Kerly steps on a track, I strongly believe that he's able to do the impossible. He's that kind of athlete, and I'm that kind of fan 🙃
It is impossible the frame isn't there in racing, you can run as perfect as you want but the frame of all the runners around these days cannot match usains, the potential isn't there because the body shape isn't there.
Of everything that was in that video this is an odd topic to choose, especially since you already made a video about it. If anyone was to make a video on something Fred said I thought it would be about the 2022 world championships where he ran 9.79 easily in the heats and in the interview he said he pull or tore something in his quad in the semifinal which is why he only ran 9.84 to win and in 2023 he wasn’t fully healed which explains why there was such a big difference between the two seasons.
The tweet got him a lot of attention so could it have been something to do with his sponsors or, as he was wearing a pair of Puma shoes while being sponsored by Asics, was it some kind of weird message to Asics or even Puma? I know it's a stretch but I can't see why else Fred would draw attention to himself, & increase the pressure on himself, like that.
I have to say that to suggest that bolt is the goat of sprinting is not even close. And this is coming from a person that knows that Bullet Bob hayes would have beaten bolt say 98% of the times that they would have raced. The goat of sprinting is now that young fellow from Africa. Letsile Tebogo, his times are off the charts. 60,100,200,300 and his relay leg in the 4x400. My man the Bullet wished he could be this talented!
I predict I'm going to break 9.57 in the 100m the next time I race. By all time best time is 12 seconds but I feel confident and everyone knows sprinting is mostly a mental game.

What a Embarassment that was .talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Big joke. 😂😂.
Must be nice to sit behind a computer screen and judge someone whose situation you know next to nothing about. What a good look for you.
I've never been more embarrassed in my life - competing at the very fringes of human performance but failing to achieve possibly the most impressive physical feat in history exactly when he said he would on twitter. What a massive loser unlike me, the smart computer man.
@@iamabulldozer it's a joke until we ask what record they broke to be laughing
I mean you could talk like this is you were prime bolt, gaye, Blake, Powell or even gatlin but other than those guys within 3-4 tenths of the WR, you really should be putting up standout times to be saying this
I might be as delusional as him, but Every time Fred Kerly steps on a track, I strongly believe that he's able to do the impossible. He's that kind of athlete, and I'm that kind of fan 🙃
I think they really need to rollback all the records completed with the new modern shoes. Go back to regular flats and or spikes
What about long distance running world records!
“calling out Usain Bolt” is a bit hyperbolic to say, no?
World of athletics is sooo full of ped's and illegal gears, shoes, poles etc that makes me sick
Definitely false started on purpose because he knew he wouldn’t run a 9.57. Explains why he still dipped even after being reinstated
Gout Gout has more chances of closing in on Usain’s world record because of his build and height almost similar to Usain’s
I don't watch TV anymore. Didn't know Norway had produced a couple of athletes who are taking black people's records. What's going on?
Yeah, seems like Norwegian found a sacret technique for their endurance athlete. xd
Idk if this downgrades his fitness but his reaction time during his 9.81 this year was almost perfect. I think it was .11 or .12
Definitely, he is talented but Idk if that mere fact is enough to run unde r9’58
How many points did Sydney McLaughlin earn for her world record in the 400 m hurdles?
Is that the MVHS track where kerley is practicing???
What is MVHS?
@@crosslink1493 Monta Vista High School
Its in cupertino, i think i saw him practicing there once or twice
The tweet got him a lot of attention so could it have been something to do with his sponsors or, as he was wearing a pair of Puma shoes while being sponsored by Asics, was it some kind of weird message to Asics or even Puma? I know it's a stretch but I can't see why else Fred would draw attention to himself, & increase the pressure on himself, like that.
Bro took almost 4 minutes as an intro
Yohan Blake will always be the shadow man.
Hicham's mile world record.
Kerley, making comments like this just to get reactions. Gout Gout may have a chance at this record a few years from now.
nah he seems to hit his stride too late like fambulehh
@@ssjbr8Yeah, but Gout is only 16 years old. He's got plenty of time to refine his technique.
I predict I'm going to break 9.57 in the 100m the next time I race. By all time best time is 12 seconds but I feel confident and everyone knows sprinting is mostly a mental game.
And as long as you don't actually run 100m again, you will not be proven wrong.
He's real. He's not a myth.
The mighty U.S. doping machine currently has Kerley and Lyles in their grasp and they are on a juicing program to rival no others right now.
I know it's not running but zelezny in the javelin has a higher point score
the best statistical performance has to be gout gout 20.04 as it made him the fastest 16 year old he beat usain bolts record and Australian all time fastest run and is now one of the fastest of his sprint of all time at 16 the statistics show it all
Well third time is fruitful
Fred gone do it
Fred is getting old and slower. He is not the same Fred in 2022
Yeah, he's trippin. I mean, first get your PB within 0.2 of the world record. Then within 0.1. At THAT point you can boast some, but right now!? That's a NO.
Sometimes athletes get a little full of themselves and say and do stupid things.
No 4k video of bolts theoretical 9.58 sec 100m. So doesn't count.
Uwe Hohn, no question!
